I love reading and now that DS can entertain himself for a while trashing my lounge is 8 mo I am finally getting back into the swing of things. But I always read the same kind of books and so would love to have something different sprung on me!

Here's the basics of how it works (thank you Flamesparrow)

How it works

aristocat the book and chocolate arrived - thank you. I have put the book (Maria's?) to one side to take on holiday when we go next week. However, I have already had a nibble of the chocolate!

poshwellies I will be posting your next book (arti's) and chocolate over the weekend so it will be with you over the weekend.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying some summer reading. Why doso many baby/toddler groups stop for the summer? Aagh!

muddleduck · 23/07/2009 13:02

I haven't started my book yet - it got left at the sorting office for a couple of weeks. I plan to read ALL weekend.

Eaten the chocolate thought

aristocat · 23/07/2009 13:24

dysgu glad book arrived safely. it is marias and an excellent choice as you will see.

we've been to the park today and had to dash home because of the rain. only the first week of school holidays here and it has rained every day so far .
i love getting out and about with DCs but hate our awful weather!

Itsjustafleshwound · 23/07/2009 18:04

pooter - me again!

I hope you are well and the morning sickness is manageable ...

I am going to be really cheeky and send your book tomorrow - I have a few things to post and thought that I would include your book in the haul. A busy PO and two fractious children once a month is the best I can do ... sorry!

FlyingMonkey · 26/07/2009 11:48

Hello, just checking in briefly as I am still offline at home I'll post a couple of short messages on the two books that I have read.

Maria - I will post your book for September early. Enjoy your hols!

pooter · 27/07/2009 12:00

hi itsjusta i received the book and choccy today - gave me a start, as usual! Both look very interesting! Thankyou!

I have a big confession - i havent read the last book yet - and to be honest i dont think im going to be able to . i have been throwing up left right and centre - just had to cancel a dentists appointment as i didnt think i could keep my mouth open for half an hour while the dentist did his thing without giving him a nasty surprise. Ive lost one stone since becoming pregnant and i am a miserable old bag .

Anyway - my mum read it - can i get her to be my proxy reader if im ill?? I have some optimism about this month however and i think im going to be able to read it!

Itsjustafleshwound · 27/07/2009 12:26

I am sorry that you are having such a rotten time! I hope you feel better soon.

LolaLadybird · 27/07/2009 14:32

Hi there Pooter. It's probably my book that you have at the mo and I'm not the remotest bit offended so don't worry (hopefully your mum enjoyed it though). Poor you, morning sickness is awful but hopefully it will pass soon. Hope you can take it a bit easy - and maybe just stick to reading OK magazine or some such tosh while you're feeling so rough (trash magazines are one of my all time guilty pleasures!! )

pooter · 27/07/2009 17:49

thanks lola i was feeling guilty. Yes, my mum did enjoy it thanks for the sympathy - it does help! i find reading the daily mail online fulfils my trash quota quite easily!

artifarti · 27/07/2009 20:36

Poor you, pooter. Yes, do take it easy (although IMO The Daily Mail may increase the vomiting )

aristocat - I have purchased your chocolate, from Waitrose no less this time! Now I just have to make sure that I DP doesn't eat it by Saturday.

aristocat · 27/07/2009 21:00

oooh pooter sorry youre feeling so rough.

arti am already looking forward to it !!!!!

LolaLadybird · 27/07/2009 21:44

Hmmm, I hadn't discovered Daily Mail online (but you can tell where my web browser is headed to next though can't you?!)

stickylittlefingers · 27/07/2009 21:57

Poor Pooter - I hope it passes... does it mean you're off the choc too? I will be posting my book off tomorrow (just need to purchase the chocolate to go with it). Can I just say how it entirely makes my day to receive surprise chocolate through the post. Was a fantastic idea by whoever came up with it...

Dysgu · 27/07/2009 22:40

I seem to have a chocolate overload. I went to package up arti's book for poshwellies and I had bought two bars over the past week!

Checked with DP who told me that he has bought one as he didn't think I had got round to it so now I have a 'spare' bar of chocolate.

And, being really honest, it is not likely to last until sending the next book

Have not started Maria's book yet but still nibbling the chocolate! Heading off on holiday on Friday (is it really a holiday when we have a 7mo and a 2yo and are staying with DP's family in a rented cottage on a farm when I am so far away from being an animal lover...)

Hoping kids, cousins and others will enjoy their animals and country walks and I can stay in with a book - some hope!

Dysgu · 27/07/2009 22:42

Hoping Pooter is feeling better - I had to carry ginger biscuits and ginger beer with me everywhere throughout both my pregnancies.

Hope it passes soon.

poshwellies · 28/07/2009 14:44

Hi everyone,

Not been about much as had the pig flu which then developed into sinusitis and a crippling chest infection also had issues with ds (just been diagnosed with OCD at the age of 6 )so haven't got around to reading my book yet ,will attempt to crack on with it in the next few days as I'm feeling more human and slightly less stressed

Arti, can you email me whinegums details again ,will send out book but it will be probably next week.

Hope you are all well.

artifarti · 28/07/2009 15:13

poshwellies - you poor love, what a lot you have had on your plate. I hope you are starting to feel better and that DS is getting the help he needs. Will email whinegums' details to you later.

aristocat - will probably send your book/choc combo before Saturday as we are visiting ILs that day. Hope you don't mind getting chocolate early...

MrsMuddle · 29/07/2009 20:49

Hi folks, I got poshwellie's book today from stickylittlefingers, but I've already read it, and quite recently. (Although I have such a poor memory, that I can't recall the story - only that I really enjoyed it )

So, lolaladybird, would you like me to send you two books this month, or would you prefer one at a time. It makes no difference to me, but I'll be going to the PO tomorrow, so if you want them both together, let me know tonight please.

whinegums · 30/07/2009 09:23

Hello all. Making sure this is back on my threads. Poshwellies, don't worry about getting the book to me for 1st August, I haven't finished the last one (Dysgu's book) yet. I took it on holiday, but didn't do much reading, but I am enjoying it very much. Stickylittlefingers, I will do my best to finish it this weekend and get it to you on time!

I had a lovely holiday, and as well as half of Dysgu's book, I also managed to get through half of Jewel in the Crown, which I have always meant to read. Wish I'd got round to it earlier, because I LOVE it. I also started to read Beachcombing, which was my holiday trash, but it was too bad to even be trash. I got so cross with it! So I gave up after a couple of chapters and left it behind!

Hope everyone is doing well; Poshwellies, hope you're feeling better and Pooter is getting over ms.

muddleduck · 30/07/2009 11:18

Hi Pooter
I think you post to me - if you want to keep it an extra week and then post it on, that is fine with me. I'm in the middle of something else right now so I probe won't get to it for a little while.
Hope you feel better soon.

LadyBee yours is in the post. Better chocolate this time

LolaLadybird · 30/07/2009 13:11

Hi Mrs Muddle - sorry, only just read your post now so I'm guessing you've just sent the one book which probably would've been my preference anyway ... looking forward to it & hope you had a good holiday.

LolaLadybird · 30/07/2009 13:12

Does anyone else find that sometimes the asterisk bold thing works fine and other times not at all ... or is just me?!

muddleduck · 30/07/2009 13:18

Tis the spaces between the words...

LolaLadybird · 30/07/2009 15:13

Thankyou!

Maria2007 · 31/07/2009 21:28

Ok today I sent book & choc to artifarti. Hope you enjoy both! Sorry I sent the packet 1 day early, but was at the post office anyway...
