I love reading and now that DS can entertain himself for a while trashing my lounge is 8 mo I am finally getting back into the swing of things. But I always read the same kind of books and so would love to have something different sprung on me!

Here's the basics of how it works (thank you Flamesparrow)

How it works

Am enjoying the book artifarti but have an apology to make.

I left it on the dash board of the car when I went shopping today and, upon my return, a load of pages fell out! Not sure if the sun melted the glue...

I have already sent for a replacement from Amazon which I will send on at the end of the month.

artifarti · 04/07/2009 06:45

Not to worry Dysgu. I wonder how many of the books will survive 14 different readers/households with children...

Ok book (ladybee's book) & chocolate received, thanks a lot flyingmonkeys . Choc looks lovely, really yummy.

whinegums · 04/07/2009 20:43

Got my book (Dysgu's) and choc from Poshwellies today - looks good on both counts - thanks! Stickylittlefingers - yours went first class today, sorry it's a bit late

LadyBee · 04/07/2009 23:01

Hi Muddleduck, no problem about late posting - I was also caring for a vomiting child the previous week so am totally in sympathy with you.

I was thinking about what the books will look like when they return to us - I'm quite looking forward to getting battered, dog-eared, very well-read book back.

LolaLadybird · 05/07/2009 20:14

itsjustafleshwound - glad you liked the chocolate. It's the same one that Mrs Muddle sent me last month and was so yummy I'd thought I'd pass on the favour.

Maria2007 · 05/07/2009 21:06

Delicious chocolate FlyingMonkeys

And book looks lovely too Ladybee... didn't know this author so will be glad to discover her.

Dysgu · 05/07/2009 21:24

I have finished the book (artifarti's) - I did enjoy it and will post more comments on the relevant thread.

Will have to visit the library tomorrow to pick up a few more for the month ahead - although I am already making a start on the second story in the book. Curious to see what she does!

stickylittlefingers · 07/07/2009 09:00

whinegums I got the book yesterday, and the chocolate looks absolutely lush - am looking forward to that (have put it in a place dp will never think of looking!! )

muddleduck · 07/07/2009 09:10

LadyBee
I posted the book on Saturday. Fingers crossed that it is with you soon.
I cheated a bit with the chocolate as it was so hot here on Saturday that I was worried about posting a chocolate puddle. I had quite a long walk to the PO.

enjoy!

aristocat · 07/07/2009 12:09

have finished reading marias book ......phew....it was great, one of those that you dont want to break away from.

thankyou - an excellent choice

Maria2007 · 07/07/2009 12:13

Thanks Aristocat

I have to say 'phew' too (because as I've told artifarti countless times by now- she must be bored by hearing it- I have my doubts about my book choice!!)

Perhaps you can write some of your thoughts / ideas on the relevant thread in the book swap club section?

artifarti · 07/07/2009 12:39

Oooh yes, aristocat, I'd love to know what you think about my misery guts thoughts about the ending!

OP posts:
aristocat · 07/07/2009 12:49

no more here - will post on other thread becuse lots havnt read it yet

Dysgu · 07/07/2009 23:40

Working my way through the second book in artifarti's book (hmm) and it is slower going than the first one.

Not sure why yet...

aristocat · 11/07/2009 00:06

been checking our thread but no new posts........
guess everyones too busy reading !

Itsjustafleshwound · 13/07/2009 14:34

I Wish!! Tip of the month: Don't let your kids run around outside and get colds from Hell!!!

Dysgu · 13/07/2009 14:46

I just finished the second story in artifarti's book. Once I got into it then I really enjoyed it. I think it depends on how long I manage to find to sit down and read.

Just an idea for next year as I was looking at chocolate in the supermarket. Planning ahead for poshwellies and it got me thinking about whether as well as sending on the book from the previous person, we also bought the same kind of chocolate as we received???

Just a thought

artifarti · 13/07/2009 20:25

Glad you enjoyed it Dysgu (will post on my thread about those pesky back plot spoilers...)

The only problem with the choc idea is that we would have to negotiate the no nuts/booze/fruit/white/dark/milk scenario, so it might get a bit tricky...

Have started FlyingMonkey's book and am already hooked.

OP posts:
aristocat · 19/07/2009 21:06

artifarti · 22/07/2009 13:03

aristocat - I can post the book on a bit early if you've got any holidays or anything planned?

OP posts:
aristocat · 22/07/2009 21:00

hi arti only sent book early because dysgu asked for it.
i am going on holiday but not until mid august so no need to send early to me.
still looking forward to it, mainly because i dont know whats coming .

Maria2007 · 22/07/2009 21:15

Hi everyone

This thread has gone a bit quiet recently (possibly because its mid summer). I'm about to finish LadyBee's book, have enjoyed it & will post some thoughts about it once I'm done.

Just wanted to ask a favour to FlyingMonkeys & Artifarti. I leave for holiday on the 27th of August & return on the 16th of september. FlyingMonkeys: Could my september book possibly be sent to me around the 23rd / 24th of august to make sure I have it by the 27th? (because then I can read it on holiday). And also: Artifarti, I'll send your september book early, just before I leave for holiday, hope that's ok. I know all this is more than a month away, but just making sure both FlyingMonkeys & Artifarti know about it & can make a note (Artifarti, could you actually send an email to FlyingMonkeys letting her know about this? Hope that's not a problem....)

Hugs to everyone!
