I love reading and now that DS can entertain himself for a while trashing my lounge is 8 mo I am finally getting back into the swing of things. But I always read the same kind of books and so would love to have something different sprung on me!

Here's the basics of how it works (thank you Flamesparrow)

How it works

Poshwellies, thank you, yours arrived yesterday. I have read the book, but it was a while ago, and I always meant to re-read it, so I'm looking forward to that. Goes without saying the choccy is fab too! Cheers x

aristocat · 05/06/2009 13:44

hi all, has everyone got a book?

pooter · 05/06/2009 14:37

yep! I am absolutely LOVING mine from itsjusta - am off to get another chapter in before DS wakes up..

Itsjustafleshwound · 05/06/2009 15:09

It is my favourite book - glad you are enjoying it!

I have lolaladybird's book - thank you!

artifarti · 05/06/2009 16:23

Have been trying to start Maria's book but whingy clingy non-napping nightmare DS who is teething and has been up since 4sodding30 wants to be picked up...then put down...then picked up...

Have been trying to make a cuppa for about five hours.

Have eaten the chocolate though.

OP posts:
Maria2007 · 05/06/2009 21:08

Artifarti: was the chocolate good?

artifarti · 05/06/2009 21:16

Oh yes, it was lovely - you can tell by the grin in my post. Montezuma's is the king of chocolate! I was trying to ration it out to myself over a few days and was doing really well until today when I just opened the fridge and gobbled all that was left!

I finally managed to start the book in the bath this evening and am very intrigued. It's a great concept.

You are welcome whinegums, hope you enjoy rereading it .

I've not received a book as of yet and more importantly,no chocolate.Hopefully just caught up in the post somewhere.

aristocat · 07/06/2009 22:11

hi arti have finished your book, it was an excellent choice.

hope everyone else is getting on ok

thankyou !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dysgu · 08/06/2009 13:35

It looks like lots of people are enjoying the books that are coming around.

Has anyone heard anything from PieceNharmoKnee - has she name-changed again?

I sent my book to her at the end of May and just wanted to know if it arrived.

It looks like she was meant to send her book to poshwellies who just posted that she had not received a book yet?

has anyone seen PieceNharmoKnee on any other threads - perhaps we need to send out a search party.

artifarti · 08/06/2009 13:44

Dysgu - have emailed her to see if she has sent/received but no reply yet. Wonder if she's gone on holiday maybe? Haven't see her on any threads...

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hello really.

I still haven't started my book because I'm frantically reading a book for our RL book club, first meeting next week (If anyone's interested & lives in London, let me know).

But a friend saw the book I was sent (it was FlyingMonkey's choice) lying on our living room sofa, & said it's an excellent book, he loves it & has read it several times... So I'm looking forward to it.

artifarti · 08/06/2009 20:08

Dysgu and poshwellies - PieceNHarmoKnee isn't able to take part in the Swap Club anymore and has mailed your book etc. back to you, Dysgu (at the end of last week, so guess you should receive it anyday now)

I will email you with poshwellies' details instead. Sorry, posh, hope you are a fast reader!

[Hi Maria - really getting into your book now . Hope you're enjoying The Road]

OP posts:
Dysgu · 08/06/2009 22:11

Thanks for sorting that arti. I just came back here to suggest you doing exactly that - but you got there already. I guess that is why you are sorting this out.

poshwellies I will send the book as soon as I receive it. I am on ML right now so can get it out to you the same day. Will let you know when it's on its way.

Waiting to see what you think.

poshwellies the book (and chocolate) is back with me.

The chocolate seems a touch battered after two trips round the country so I have decided I had better eat it - is okay but not as nice as I thought it would be when I bought it!

Off to hunt down some delicious dark chocolate - maybe the same stuff as aristocat sent to em - and will post by the end of the day.

Dysgu · 09/06/2009 11:51

sorry - aristocat sent the chocolate to me not em!

?

aristocat · 09/06/2009 12:56

dysgu glad you liked the chocolate

have been looking for the next one already

Maria2007 · 09/06/2009 15:37

Hi everyone,

Good to know our list of who's in the swap club is updated & we all know what's happening (we wouldn't want the circle broken would we)...

Artifarti, glad you're getting into the book. I told you I'm getting more & more paranoid & obssessed with what else I could have sent, but I'll save it for next year

Itsjustafleshwound · 09/06/2009 15:46

Great - book is finished - roll on July for the next surprise ...

Maria2007 · 09/06/2009 16:11

Itsjustafleshwound: I haven't even started mine yet (but I'm determined to have it done by June 31st at the very latest!)

poshwellies · 10/06/2009 13:41

Just caught up with this thread..

Thanks arti for emailing me and letting me know what was happening.

I'm eagerly awaiting my book,I'm one of those annoying freak speed readers so it will probably devoured in less than a day (along with the chocolate!).

I'll let you know when book/choc gets here Dysgu .

artifarti · 11/06/2009 20:41

Maria - have finished it! Will start a thread...

OP posts:
Dysgu · 15/06/2009 23:33

Has everyone finished reading their books yet?

Am I the only one counting down until 1st July to send the book on and await a new one.

What is everyone else reading?

I have just finished 'Butterbabe' - the autobiography of a 43stone woman.

I am also reading 'When will there be good news' but am struggling with it. I have considered giving up on it but something keeps pulling me back - mostly the story about Jackson Brodie I think. Anyone read it - is it worth persevering?

And I am also reading 'The Traveller' but am not sure if I like that either.

I think a visit to the library tomorrow - any siggestions of something to look for?

aristocat · 15/06/2009 23:53

dysgu hiya, i too thought about the next book today

i have also finished '8th confession' recently in the womens murder club series and currently on james grippando -

have you read any tess gerritsen, shes very good but very medically gory with her descriptions
did poshwellies get your book?
