Hello, I am currently experiencing my 3rd consecutive miscarriage and my 2nd MMC. I have been told I will now be referred to the RMC unit but due to my age (42) i think I need to go privately and I was wondering what your opinions are on Dr Shehata? I've heard he has a brilliant reputation but is quite focused on NK cells and less on other things. Can anyone share their thoughts, opinions experiences?
My first pregnancy was healthy and resulted in my 6 year old boy but the last 2 MMC we saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks but then no growth or heartbeat at 7/8 weeks.
Many thanks for reading

Hi girls! I hope you are all well.
Has anyone used the clear blue “results 6 days before you missed your period”? I have still got 3 days to go but tested his morning, no line seen 😣
i don’t feel any symptoms but I was still praying this could be the cycle. sometimes now and then I feel cramps but it could be due to period coming up or progesterone. No sore boobs which was a symptom in my previous pregnancies. Really gutted

Hope646 · 05/06/2023 08:45

Just to add on my previous message, I am wondering if anyone has found it accurate when testing early?
Whether it makes sense to stop the progesterone and prednisone now or wait until period is due in 3 days? This 2ww has always been too brutal and now with medication added, it’s worse

MeganBistram · 05/06/2023 10:40

@seven201 So happy things are still going well, hopefully you will feel those tiny kicks soon :)

@Lily1990 I have PCOGs and a late ovulation ( day 14 get the LH ) but my cycle is only 24 days are the moment. However the short Luteal seems to not impact us as I have been able to get pregnant 4 times and we lose the babies quite late 8-10 weeks. Dr. S doesn't seem to phased by cycles etc. except if you can't get pregnant, I Guess because he does progesterone it covers that element? Do you have any PCO symptoms? I had no Idea I had it as have 0 symptom's except high blood sugars pregnant.

@Hope646 I have never tested that early but try to keep faith and go to day 10. I had pains on the last cycle but reading now I think it was the progesterone.

@KatyTTC maybe it is the Humaria but my god since taking these cocktail of drugs I am hungry. I have tried to exercise to offset it but I am still the heaviest I have been since having my son. I thought maybe it was the hydroxy but who knows.

Re alcohol he didn't tell us to stop, but then I didn't ask :). I feel like I have not drunk for 18 months with being pregnant. However in this last 5 month break I have been making the most of it and this weekend was at a festival so probably not the best for TTC. However next month I will stay fully dry. My husband is also less keen...

xx

seven201 · 05/06/2023 15:37

@Lily1990 I have pcos but I don't think that was my issue really as I ovulate ok. I have a naturally conceived dd who is 7 next week. When ttc for dc two I fell pregnant quickly but then had a mc around 6 weeks then no joy. Diagnosis of secondary infertility, tried clomid etc. had a laparoscopy and dr said I had prominent midline septum (ridge in uterus) but it shouldn't be an issue. Had 4 failed ivf transfers. Then a saline sonogram where it was discovered I had a big adhesion in my uterus that was acting like a natural coil. Had surgery to remove that and also to neaten up the inside of my c-section niche, in case that was a problem too (sometimes had fluid gathering there). Fell pregnant the next month but mc. Then naturally pregnant two months later but again Mc. That when I went to CRP and was put on the complex plan. Had another ivf transfer and first ivf bfp but it measured very behind from the start but did have a heartbeat a week later, but then not the next week. I had medical management but unfortunately didn't realise I had retained tissue so kept having superovulation round cancelled due to the unknown thing showing in ultrasound on uterus. Had a hysteroscopy to see what it is and was discovered it was scar tissue from the retained products and it was removed at the same time. Then was put on 'super complex plan' had 4 superovulation rounds and this pregnancy is the result of round 4. It took 5 1/4 years. I don't think I technically need the superovulation but CRP we're keen for me to - I think being 40 was a factor and I was keen to not waste time so was happy to do it. Sorry, that was long and I tried to do the short version!

@Hope646 sorry, but I think it's too early for you to stop the drugs. I seem to implant late and my early detection tests are never that early. Also, with this pregnancy I was so convinced it was an indent line that I stopped the meds a day early, luckily tested the next day and started the meds again! You're not out yet.

clhsgirl · 05/06/2023 16:20

@lily1990 I have irregular and very heavy and painful periods, a short luteal phase and issues losing weight but my ovaries and bloods show no sign of pcos. I've had issues for 22 years but no one has been able to give me any answers as to why I have these issues other than I am fat and need to lose weight. As someone who is physically active, walking daily and dancing, it's always disappointed me that no one has wanted to investigate further. Now after almost 4 years of infertility, IVF and two miscarriages, I am hoping I might get some answers.

Hope646 · 08/06/2023 08:38

@MeganBistram @seven201 thank you to you both lovely girls for always taking the time in replying. It’s been a massive support

So my period is due today. Took Preg test and unfortunately “not pregnant”. Really gutted 😞

I know it’s only my first cycle and I shouldn’t even be thinking about it but I can’t help.. has anyone struggled to conceive after being on these medications but pre these treatments there was no issue with conception?

Also, fortunately until now my cycle has always been either 28/29 days. So its been easier for me to know when to start tracking my ovulation. Now that progesterone will delay my period by few days.. will it reduce my cycle lenght also? Would I count my 1st cycle day as today when my period was supposed to be due but because of progesterone it hasn’t. Or cycle day 1 will be in few days once period arrives after I stop the progesterone today. Sorry it may be a very stupid question.

seven201 · 08/06/2023 21:46

@Hope646 cd1 is always the first day of the period. Some places count it from the next day if bleeding starts in the afternoon or later. Sorry about the bfn. Hard to not get hopes up when starting a new treatment.

MeganBistram · 09/06/2023 10:50

@Hope646 sorry to hear your not pregnant this month. Its so hard not to feel gutted every month. I keep trying to tell myself that the rush to get pregnant is on me not because of any physical reason

I found the Progestrone delays my period for 2 days, If I stop on day 10 then I start my period day 13... And no it seems to have not changed this cycle at all. I had my LH surge at exactly the same time (day 14) after my delayed period xx

Lily1990 · 10/06/2023 20:49

@seven201 thanks so much sharing your story. Gosh you’ve been on a long and tough journey, that must have been unbelievably hard. I’m so delighted for you being pregnant now! It’s also really encouraging that youre pregnant and it’s going well now after a previous miscarriage on Dr S’s plan, as I can imagine you must have lost hope when that happened. Your story is also an inspiration to keep going and not give up!

@MeganBistram interesting you also have PCOS and that Dr s doesn’t seem phased by cycles unless you can’t get pregnant. My ovaries are very polycystic looking and my AMH is high (39), also get spots around my period. My cycles are regular but last month I didn’t ovulate until cd 28! But I need to up the metformin to 1500mg and I also might take some letrozole tablets (leftover from a few months ago) to give my cycle a boost when we start TTC again in a week.

@clhsgirl that’s very confusing that you have those symptoms but no PCOS. Very frustrating when you are very active that doctors don’t try to investigate why you have these issues - wonder if metformin would work for you? How did your appt with Dr S go? Hope he was helpful and you are feeling more hopeful and that you have (or will have) a plan in place.

We’ll start TTC again in a week or so, and partly excited but largely apprehensive! It has been so nice having a break and not feeling weighed down by all of this. But reminding myself I’m in a much better position than I was before (when I didn’t know about the NK cells or have treatment) so got to stay hopeful!

MeganBistram · 12/06/2023 09:16

@seven201 sorry to ask you questions again, but you are our guru on here :)

So Tested day 10 ( which was day 10 of LH Surge ) on an early one and there was nothing. Stopped the drugs... Then didn't come on my period yesterday. Did a early test 10ug one and got a good line but the 20UG one was barely existant.

Took another test today, 10ug one which was the same as yesterday, good line but not darker. Then took a 25ug one ( prob should have done a 20ug one again to have a comparison but didn't have any ) and it was a faint line. So its not dropped like you would get with a chemical. However I am on day 28 and normally given I have a short cycle I would have on any other pregnancy see a strong line.

So heres my thought, could be chemical and drops tomorrow, Could be pregnant but not viable as HCG not rising enough or absolute best cast drugs impact my time after LH surge to ovulate and I am only 12 DPO and tomorrow it gets darker.

TTC is bloody hard..!

Interestingly spoke to CRP and they reckon that tomorrow I just need a firm line on early detection and to then have intralipid's but I feel that just rules out chemical.. doesn't look at whether its viable! thoughts?

Sorry for the rant, and if anyone else has any advise let me know :) xxx

seven201 · 12/06/2023 11:02

@MeganBistram ooooh!!! My lines were very feint and took a long time to progress, all on FRER early one. Despite having a trigger it measured 7 days behind for first two scans, then caught up a few days, so maybe late implantation for you too. I think you need to use the same test from now on and try and have a strong wee. Do you have photos of them? When are your losses usually?

seven201 · 12/06/2023 11:04

Found photo of some of my tests. Not sure if the photo attached

MeganBistram · 12/06/2023 11:17

@seven201 can't see them :) Let me PM you xx

MeganBistram · 12/06/2023 11:21

@MeganBistram are they both today? How many dpo? That clearblue in particular looks really good. My cheapie tests never got truly dark at all. I think that's looking good personally!

KatyTTC · 12/06/2023 12:54

@MeganBistram this is tentatively so exciting but obviously understand you’re so nervous. I’m with @seven201 . My cheapies never got really dark but clear blue was always an accurate indicator for me.
Keeping everything crossed for you.

Hope646 · 12/06/2023 13:27

@MeganBistram I am so happy for you right now. Praying the results only get stronger for you and all your effort pays off 🙏🏻
@seven201 so grateful to have you here. So the last time I took progesterone was on 8th June just before bedtime and my period arrived yesterday late evening. So I m glad it hasn’t delayed my period by much. Now all I am thinking about is next try

MeganBistram · 12/06/2023 14:03

@Hope646 @seven201 @KatyTTC the clear blue is only 10ug one so looks good the other one is 25ug…

I will add the comparison to yesterday but it deffo looks lighter on the clear blue one so I don’t think it’s looking good :(

it’s either 14 days DPO or 12 DPO so I would expect to be darker xx

Hope646 · 12/06/2023 14:12

@MeganBistram can you not try an early Preg unit and for them to run a few HCG blood tests across the next few days each within 48 hours timeframe? In my last pregnancy they did but because I was bleeding. Maybe you can convince them. I believe that would be an accurate metric to use to understand the viability of Preg for now. My hcg was doubling for few days but it ended up being blighted ovum Preg.

MeganBistram · 12/06/2023 14:40

@Hope646 I could, But to be honest if it doesn't get darker tomorrow I will have my answer. If it does I might go get it checked as its later than I would expect to be showing a line...

gosh its a journey.. lucky I am not mid budgeting at work haha xx

seven201 · 12/06/2023 14:54

@MeganBistram for what it's worth, I think those lines are good for 12dpo and fine for 14dpo. Mine weren't as dark as that at 14
Dpo. Good luck for tomorrow's test. My cheapies did go up and down across the days so I wouldn't rely on those.

MeganBistram · 12/06/2023 18:00

Update.. both bottom ones are this afternoon.. so fingers crossed things are going in the right direction for tomorrow. Thanks ladies for getting me through a stressful day xx

That’s looking good, best of luck 🤞 xx

seven201 · 12/06/2023 20:05

Really good lines there @MeganBistram. Get those intralipids booked in!

KatyTTC · 12/06/2023 21:25

Those lines look so good for 12 dpo. Or 14 dpo for that matter! Keeping everything crossed this is it! Please keep us posted over the next few days! Never felt so invested in a total stranger…! X
