Ovulation after miscarriage?

I had a MMC nearly two weeks ago. Miscarried naturally. Took a pregnancy test today which is negative however my opks is positive. Does this mean I'm ovulating already as theres no HCG now for it to pick up?! I'm also still spotting on and off. Any help would be great.

You could be ovulating... can happen as early as two weeks after a miscarriage
Though how long have you tested negative on the HCG strips?
I know when people test for pregnancy they sometimes use an OPK strip as that will show very early pregnancy hormones ( so could be very faint HCG in your system?) I mean if you're trying again and ready- I'd personally go for it

@Skl2021 I'm not two weeks post miscarriage yet so think you might be right think it might be picking up the faintest HCG. I was getting positive ovulation tests when I got my early bfp and that was a squinter! I have been testing with opks for the past week and they have all been positive so waiting for them to drop like my HCG test now. I only just took my first HCG test yesterday and was surprised it was negative well maybe a shadow of a line if you look closely x

Well my first stopped at 8 weeks and I was testing negative 10 days or so after

This time I was further along and it took me about 14/15 days to test negative, though I'm sure if I used an OPK it would have been a squinter too.
I guess this is why we're supposed to wait for a cycle so we get all the dates right x

@doodledeedum yes I know they like you to wait but it's easier said than done 🙈 I think I will keep testing over the next few days see if they start to get lighter I don't think I am ovulating as I don't have ewcm. And I'm still spotting when I wipe so don't know if it's even safe to try again yet I thought u had to wait for bleeding to stop? I took another pregnancy test today and theres a tiny hint of a line if you look really close so it's probably picking up that. Do you think I should be ringing epu back if I have a hint of a line? They said test and of its positive to ring back. Well it positive but only just. Don't want to have complications x

My last one was natural and I was told wait two weeks for the test to show negative. Call if you go past this to see what they say.
I believe sex whilst still having any spotting etc can lead to infections, I waited for it to stop completely and we still used protection ( not ready to conceive yet) - so if wait if I were you ...

The testing wait is impossible and I do it to get my self over seeing a negative again ( after all that time we spend trying to see a positive I think it's really hard and heartbreaking to see a stark negative so I go for it and see it get lighter over time and can deal with that)

I know everything seems so slow but take your time . Our bodies tell us more than we know sometimes. Just like you trust the CM , trust the flow of blood stopping for now and go from there x

@doodledeedum thanks I will wait until Wednesday and see if it's still a hint of a line. It's terrible your left to deal with all this on your own sorry for all the questions I didn't get told anything 😩 I'm quite relieved to finally see a negative as I was so scared it wouldn't all pass naturally. I think I will wait until it stops. And like you say trust my body and look for ewcm. Thank you so much for.your help. Hope you get your happy ever after when your ready! X

I took a more sensitive pregnancy test and there's still a slight positive so guessing I stil have some HCG. And I'm guessing I won't ovulate until that's gone? So many questions you don't get answers too 😩🤔 just want to move on!

First time it took me 30 odd days ( started with spotting around day 30 ) to get my period
I'm still for now but only stopped bleeding about a week ago. Also it was heavier and longer than normal and even my next one after that took about 39 days when I'm normally a 27/28 day girl

I think if you have HCG you don't ovulate but I'm no expert!!

I'm doing ok my pregnancy tests are still very faintly positive but getting fainter very slowly 😩 my opks are also very up and down one day faint next day dark don't know what's going on so don't think I'm ovulating. I'm just over three weeks from miscarriage now so expecting af from next week but like you say can be any time 🤔 have u ovulated this cycle? Or u just waiting for af to show first? X

@Skl2021 now here is where it gets complicated, I also got diagnosed with BV just after the MC so I had antibiotics for it and now I've completely dried up down there 👀 so I don't THINK ive ovulated so im waiting to see if I have with CM before I expect a period but last MC i got it back within 30 days and I am a 28 day girl, so who the hell knows. Im now on day 31 since latest MC started and don't have a single sign to say AF is coming

@doodledeedum if you don't mind me asking what symptoms did u have? I was looking up about that yesterday as I felt itchy 🤦 I'm also getting weird cm I don't think it's ovulation cm it's always like pinky browny tinged I know it could be from the miscarriage still. I'm just paranoid something is wrong still 😩 it's so terrible not knowing were you are isn't it. Hopefully it shows up soon for you and you can get back to normal cycle xx

@Skl2021 I had BV about 20 years ago and I knew I had it due to a 'smell'
This time I think I've had it a really really long time and didn't even realise ( only now I see the dryness I think OMG i lived with it for so long thinking I just get a lot of discharge and it wasn't too smelly either!!)

I got a lot of white/very faint yellow discharge and some smells ( put it down to hormones etc) and when I went in with bleeding the nurse thought I had thrush and tested me
After my MC i had a letter to say it was BV and to get antibiotics...
i also have baths not showers as I don't have a shower available and I know this can cause BV too....

I'd say if you're itchy it may be down to meds you've taken and it could be thrush.
This time if I get anything close to the symptoms I've had before I'm going to get checked out immediately and I'd do the same if I were you ...
if it's pinky though I'd say you're still at the tail end of it all.....
get checked out if itching carries on after the bleeding has fully stopped....

Dr google ( I hate it so much) also has some articles saying BV can cause MC and some say it doesn't so of course I'm really blaming myself for not thinking more of it :(

At least now if I have CM it will be more obvious...

@doodledeedum yes I think mine might be from the miscarriage I have no smells. The only thing that worried me is that I notice a smell if we have had sex. Yes Dr Google is the devil. I also had a ecoli infection during this pregnancy and I also wondered how long I had that and if it caused my miscarriage. But we shouldnt think like that it will destroy us. We will never know what caused it. Yes hopefully your cm comes back and then u will have an indication! My opk test today seems dark again so maybe my body is trying to ovulate soon or my period is coming. It's horrible waiting isn't it 😩 I hope my period isn't terrible. X

Yup! I feel the whole experience is about waiting. The TWW then getting through each day ok and then with the MC for it to happen and then another cycle and on and on I go....

I used to get the after sex smell too and don't now! So again another sign I missed and yes we will do our own heads in but I think it's part of the grief? I have very sudden random thoughts and questions pop in to my head ALOT about it all.

The first period will feel emotional and it's usually a bit heavier and more painful than normal... waiting for that too.... 🙄

@doodledeedum I did have antibiotics around a month ago so wouldn't that of cleared it? Or is it a certain antibiotics oh maybe I should get it checked now 😩 I'm constantly on edge panicking IV got something wrong. I get heavy painful periods as it is so hoping it's not alot worse 🤦 it's bad enough now. I think I might be getting ready to ovulate my opk it quite dark today I know it's not positive yet but I think it should be over the next few days 😬🤔 x

Sometimes antibiotics give you thrush @Skl2021 ... keep an eye on it and yes that looks close!!

@doodledeedum IV seen u can get BV tests and treatment OTC is it worth trying them first? X

Ok so I have delve a bit deeper now sorry because it is TMI
When I first got with me partner ( had had a summer of fun but always been careful and got STI tests and had one just before I got with him) but when we got together I thought I could have BV but also thought I could be showing signs of something happening as I was off of the pill ( at the time of getting with partner wanted to go back on it)
I got BV test OTC and it said I didn't have it and then I went on the pill for a year and symptoms changed.
After a year I came off the pill as my mental health wasn't great - we weren't trying to get pregnant and then another year later having been on no contraception began being less careful so if we fell pregnant we did, sort of 'if it's meant to be it will be' and I did

Now I often think back to 'what if the OTC test said I didn't have it but did and have had it for all this time?!? '
Honestly with going on and off the pill I thought that was why I was getting the discharge I was getting !!
It's not till NOW I can see how it's meant to be down there that I'm extremely pissed off I didn't just go a test with doctor or at a clinic!!
Annoys me I've had all my smears and not once was it picked up! ( I don't think they test for it but it would be good to know!)

So personally I'd make an appointment at a sexual health clinic or with docs and just know for sure xx

@doodledeedum it's crazy how miscarriage makes you question everything and the what ifs 😩 I rang the doctors but can't get an appointment any time soon but I think I will get it checked up before I try again. Thankyou for your help. Glad your all sorted now xx
