Empty pregnancy sac

I had a scan on Thursday when I thought I was 11 weeks. They could see an empty sac which measured 5 weeks. I know my dates are not that far out.
They took bloods and informed me my hormone levels are high suggesting that my dates are right and my body isn't getting rid of the pregnancy
I have to go back on Thursday for another scan. I am bleeding and have cramps. Has Anyone had a similar experience and did you miscarry naturally?
I just feel in limbo right now 😞

Oh @Samk79, I'm so sorry. I'm sending you a big hug. I wish this wasn't happening for any of us. Is anyone with you today? Be kind to yourself, don't put any pressure on yourself to be OK, you're allowed to be upset ❤️Flowers xx

Samk79 · 20/03/2019 08:50

@VenusStarr thank you. My partner has just gone to work but he will be back later xx

Sorry to all those struggling today 💐

Good luck @coconutlatte44 will be thinking of you today x

I'm passing clots this morning and the pain killers eventually kicked in at 4:30 so I got a couple of hours before I had to get up with my girls.

Mil has taken the older one to school and the youngest out for the day so at least I can rest with lots of tea and Netflix.

Definitely going to keep on top of the painkillers. I forgot to take them before bed last night which was daft.

VenusStarr · 20/03/2019 09:34

Hope you are able to rest today @Samk79.

Sorry to hear that @chocolatelog, glad your painkillers kicked in and you are able to rest today. What are you watching on Netflix? I need something good to watch as a distraction.

Holly19 · 20/03/2019 09:35

@chocolatelog I was told to ring them if I added any clots as they should have removed most of the lining so please do keep an eye on it and call if it gets worse x

TeaforTwoBiscuitOrThree · 20/03/2019 09:41

Hi hun, sorry you're going through this. I had the same, empty sack which was starting to break down. I had an ERPC the following day as I didn't want it to drag on and the Gynea agreed with me. It was awful, distressing and heart-achingly - but time is a healer. Look after yourself, take it easy and allow yourself to grief, no matter what people may say.

Samk79 · 20/03/2019 10:19

@chocolatelog hope you are doing okay
@VenusStarr yes I am, there is lots of housework that needs doing but I just can't face doing it so it will have to wait!
@TeaforTwoBiscuitOrThree thank you, at least they agreed to do your surgery quickly. If I haven't passed everything by tomorrow I'm really hoping my hospital will do the same. It's tough as my son doesn't know what is going on and is worried about me x

@VenusStarr I'm watching afterlife, which is a bit sad but I need a good cry today lol it's also quite funny and I need a few laughs too 😬

@Holly19 thanks for that, they didn't mention any of that to me so I'll keep an eye on it.

chocolatelog · 20/03/2019 11:18

@Samk79 thank you. Hope your ok too x

VenusStarr · 20/03/2019 11:25

☺️ I binged on that the other day @chocolatelog, I don't normally like Ricky Gervais but found that good.

Samk79 · 20/03/2019 12:35

@chocolatelog thank you, an very emotional today x

Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all your thoughts and kind words.
Everything has gone smoothly, quick scan to confirm (gestational sac grew from 15 mm to 23 mm with nothing else visible). Then prepped for erpc, before I knew it it was over. Felt a bit emotional when I woke up but feeling ok now, they're keeping me on a drip for a bit for low-ish blood pressure but otherwise fine.

So glad to be closing this chapter, hope there are no complications. Hope everyone else is doing ok today.

chocolatelog · 20/03/2019 16:45

@coconutlatte44 glad it went well. Keep yourself topped on painkillers, I felt fine afterwards and then it hit me 🙈 hope you have a quick recovery.

VenusStarr · 20/03/2019 16:50

Glad everything was straightforward @coconutlatte44. Wishing you well in your recovery. Do you have to stay in tonight? X

coconutlatte44 · 20/03/2019 17:04

Thanks @VenusStarr and @chocolatelog. I should be able to go home tonight although hopefully the blood pressure situation won't change that!

@chocolate what painkillers have you been taking and how often? They haven't been very specific yet about what I might need although the nurse has been great so far so I imagine she will advise me before I go.

I do find myself struggling to trust the male doctors when they say things like "it will just be like a heavy period" - as if they know what that's really like - Especially since so many women's stories prove that it's often not the case!

Samk79 · 20/03/2019 17:04

@coconutlatte44 glad everything went okay for you xx

@coconutlatte44 I've been alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen every 4 hours. So far today the pains been at bay. The bleeding is very heavy though, I'm having to change my pad every hour but clots have stopped coming.

BigTeaspoon · 20/03/2019 23:22

@coconutlatte44 @chocolatelog recommend hot water bottle, and having hot drinks to keep belly warm. A Chinese thing is to have lots of ginger. Keeps belly warm and helps with blood circulation.

VenusStarr · 21/03/2019 06:22

Thinking of you today @Samk79 ❤️ Xx

sophied1983 · 21/03/2019 07:55

I'm still having to wear sanitary towels and it will have been two weeks tomorrow since my op. Four weeks of bleeding in total! Still got the remnants of a bruise from the cannula on my hand - all these physical/visible reminders make it tricky to move on :(

sophied1983 · 21/03/2019 07:55

You're all so brave ladies. It's rubbish what we're going through, it really is.

Samk79 · 21/03/2019 08:08

@VenusStarr thank you, I'm not looking forward to seeing that Empty space on the scan again today 😞 I couldn't sleep last night as the pain was quite bad

Hope everyone else is doing okay xx

What time do you have to be there? @Samk79, maybe you can ask them not to show you the screen? I'm undecided if I will look, part of me thinks it might help with closure, but it is awful to see Flowers

Sorry to hear you're still bleeding @sophied1983, it is such a horrible, sad and cruel thing to go through. I'm glad we are all here to support us through it.

How are you both today @chocolatelog and @coconutlatte44? X

Samk79 · 21/03/2019 08:30

@VenusStarr my appointment is at 11.40, they did ask me last week if I wanted to see the screen or not and like you say I'm in two minds. How are you doing today?

@sophied1983 sorry to hear you are still suffering too xx
