Missed miscarriage and next period

Hello All

I had an erpc 3 weeks ago after a mmc. I want to ask others who have been through this horrendous experience when your next period came. Also, was it a lot lighter or heavier from your usual periods?
Thanks

Emsler- my bleeding was normal but i had absolutely horrific cramps a day or two before it started. Curled up in bed at night trying not to scream.

Greenglassteacup · 19/11/2016 20:12

My cramping isn' t too bad but the bleeding is ridiculous. I'm in a really shitty irritable mood too

And really bloated too- anyone else had extreme bloating like that?

Flowers to you all xx

I'm very bloated. The pain was awful for the first couple of days but has pretty much gone now. I didn't have anything like this with my ectopic or other mc so it's been a bit of a shock. I was further along this time so maybe thats why .

Greenglassteacup · 19/11/2016 23:11

Awful. Here's to better times Wine

That sounds a lot like my first periods after loss.

It's a huge slap in the face after everything else.

My bereavement midwife suggested it might be linked to the 'interrupted' nature of the pregnancy, in that part of your body is still expecting you to be pregnant and your hormones are everywhere.

It does settle down fairly quickly in my experience though. Be kind to yourselves and take it easy.

Sorry for your loss and the week that you have been having FlowersCake

My situation was a little different - I had a natural MC in April at just over 10 weeks. It was hideous and I ended up in hospital on a drip overnight for blood loss, but a scan suggested it was pretty much complete. 4 weeks later I had my first period and bleeding was so heavy again that I used one of DD's nappies as a pad and went to the EPU to be checked out. I actually still had retained products from the MC and needed an ERPC. Periods were normal after that though.

Hope you feel better soon, and please get it checked out at the hospital xx

Greenglassteacup · 20/11/2016 13:14

Bleeding seems to have tailed off this afternoon & I'm only using a thin liner pad. Hopefully it's over.

BrewCakeFlowersChocolate to all of you xxxx

My partner has taken our daughter to the park for an hour or so and I'm planning to prop myself up in bed with my new book and some chocolate

How are you doing today Greenglassteacup? I came on yesterday and it's HORRENDOUS. Heavy bleeding (not quite as bad as yours but I'm still having to change a Plus tampon every 1.5 hours) and the pain is pretty excruciating, even with hardcore prescribed NSAIDs. I can hardly breathe when a cramp comes on and I'm all clammy and pale. Gross.

It really is like a slap in the face after everything we've already been through. Want to be at home with a hot water bottle and a weepy movie but alas, I'm at work instead.

Sending everyone love xx

Greenglassteacup · 21/11/2016 16:50

Emsler Flowers what a shitty time. I'm still bleeding although it is light now. I can't wait to get home from work either.

Oh & ridiculous bloating is still here, I look quite heavily pregnant, how ironic

somethingfromnothing · 21/11/2016 19:41

I'm still really bloated too. Going to need giant pants to fit into my dress for my Christmas night out. But I think the blood has finally stopped. Hope everyone else is doing okay

Greenglassteacup · 21/11/2016 20:49

I've piled loads of weight, first of all the morning sickness - eating to keep the nausea under control and then comfort eating since the mmc. I need to sort myself out, try to motivate myself and get out of this slump I'm in.

Flowers Hope everyone's doing ok xxx

So sorry about what you have gone through.
I had early miscarriage in September and bled for a week. When the miscarriage was confirmed by the Dr, bleeding has stopped and Dr suggested my next period should be 4-6 weeks from then and I got AF exactly four weeks later (D35 if counting miscarriage bleeding as D1). Very heavy and painful, needs to change every two hours (sorry for TMI). And no luck of ttc on cycle2, very long cycle, 43 days and still quite heavy and painful.

Hope we all recover from the horrible experience and get our luck soon! Hugs xx

MrsHarper and Blossom Flowers

Blossom, lovely news about your pregnancy after mmc. I'm so confused about whether I want to try again, keep wishing I wasn't 42 & had more time. I wish I knew what to do

Love to you all xxx

I think I'm ovulating. I might buy some ovulation strips and try again

OP posts:
somethingfromnothing · 29/11/2016 23:10

I think I'm ovulating too. Hoping to get a positive opk tomorrow. Still feel very stressed by the whole thing though and can't imagine we will conceive a baby under these circumstances.

Greenglassteacup · 29/11/2016 23:14

Something, I feel like that too. I feel like it will happen again.

Greenglassteacup · 29/11/2016 23:15

I bought some ovulation strips yesterday and got a strong positive last night and tonight.

Hope you're alright Greenglassteacup. I had a mmc at 12 + 5 and after failed medical management had an MVA 3 weeks ago today. I've never used opk but pretty sure I ovulated 10 days ago so was hoping af would be here next week.

That pregnancy happened immediately after my previous early natural mc, af never arrived, I think I got pregnant twice in about 6 weeks. It's all been a massive kick in the nuts!

I don't have any DC and we're definitely trying again. As I had an early unplanned pg several years ago this was my third and we've now been referred to an RMC specialist with first meeting in Jan. We'll probably wait till we've met them so they can run any tests they need to but for now I'm just praying af shows asap so it feels like things are beginning to settle down.

I'm so sorry for what you and other posters have been through. No one bloody well tells you how difficult making babies can be!

If you and your DP feel ready to try again you should go for it. I know a bfp can feel complicated when you've had a loss - excitement but also tempered with the worry about what can go wrong, even when everything feels and seems to be going so well which is the cruel shittiness of a mmc.

AnneLovesGilbert · 30/11/2016 14:39

Picoloangel how did you find out about the aspirin, was there a specific test that they ran which told them you needed it?

And when people say "baby aspirin" is it like normal aspirin you take for pregnancy, or something else?

Kirsty8333 · 06/12/2016 22:26

Hi, I had a miscarriage on 7th November at 7 weeks and am waiting for my period. I just wondered how long it took for yours to start?
