As the title suggests really.

I was 49 and have been told that's quite young? Didn't start early, I was 14.

My Mum had her last period at 55, I'm 53 and still having periods. I've missed the odd period but no other symptoms of perimenopause.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 04/06/2024 11:25

52 I think.
I mean, I'm 53 now and I havn't had one for 18 months or so.

AhNowTed · 04/06/2024 11:27

Before that around a year of what seemed like a regular hemorrhage. Then it dwindled to nothing.

CHEESEY13 · 04/06/2024 11:28
  1. And great! No more faffing around month in, month out.......
greenmario · 04/06/2024 11:28

I'm on the progesterone only pill so never get periods so how will I know when I'm at menopause? Currently aged 40

mondaytosunday · 04/06/2024 11:30

55, first one at 11.

My bone density is fine.

That's very proactive if your GP has arranged a scan for that for you. So many women aren't.

ActualCannibalShiaLeBeouf · 04/06/2024 12:26

Seven months after my 50th birthday

Theoldwoman · 04/06/2024 12:30

54 and still going …

LancreWowhawk · 04/06/2024 12:56

I am so very much looking forward to them stopping. I'm 47 and all it's still pretty much as it ever was, except that I've started miss the odd one of two (I think I've missed 3 in the last 18 months), and it is absolutely terrifying! I mean, of course DH and I are still using contraception, but nothing is 100% foolproof, is it?

LesserSpottedAlligator · 04/06/2024 13:00

47 and sailed through the menopause.

Started periods at 10 though. Had unpredictable periods all my life, anything from 2 weeks to 6 weeks.
Had secondary infertility as well.

Maddy70 · 04/06/2024 13:02

Missingthesea · 04/06/2024 13:08

Jasmin1971 · 04/06/2024 13:08

49 but irregular since 45.

RoyKentwhistle · 04/06/2024 13:09

Last October at 50. Not been a year yet so I'm not out of the woods yet.

I had everything checked as part of my plan when I had my second baby, as we tried for him for 5 years.

Started periods at 12. They were all over the place (anything from 3 weeks to 3 months, no cause found) until I had DD at age 34 then they became a bit more regular. Last period at 47, this coincided with me being diagnosed with Addisons disease- many of the symptoms for this and menopause are the same. I tried HRT but made me feel worse than without it.

I see an endocrinologist every 6 months, and tests show I am now very definitely post-menopausal. So, so glad I've been through it - my hair and skin are normal now, not greasy, and no more periods! Due to taking steroids for the Addisons I have bone density scans every few years - 2 so far, which show very slight osteopenia, but nothing too bad (I'm now 54)

LifeExperience · 04/06/2024 13:26

53

Enko · 04/06/2024 13:27

45 it lasted 40 days! Then I had a d&c and never a period again.

bilgewater · 04/06/2024 13:38

Glad to see I'm not the only one still going strong in my mid-fifties. Regular as clockwork, started at 13 and still get awful period pain every month. Hoping there might be some side benefits in terms of hormonal health, bone density etc. Although presumably it just means various menopause issues will hit me a bit later.

Hoppinggreen · 04/06/2024 13:40

I am not completely sure as I was on the pill, which I didnt stop as when I tried my periods from hell returned.
I stopped taking the pill at 51 and had 1 more period after that which wasnt too awful and nothing since (53 later this year)

47 and wondered if it was early because I’ve never been pregnant.

I've never been pregnant either and mine are very few and far between. I'm 49 and it's only in the last year it's been like this. I'm not on HRT and love not having periods, though I do wonder occasionally if I'm pregnant so do a test.

StirlingMallory · 04/06/2024 13:42

GCAcademic · 04/06/2024 13:46

I had a hysterectomy aged 48 and sometimes wonder how much longer I would have had to endure periods had I not. But it was worth it, even if they would have naturally stopped only a year later; I just couldn't take any more (I was having A&E trips and admissions to hospital due to the gushing blood and ginormous clots).

Nopetynoppy · 04/06/2024 13:48

About 45 I think .
