Normally I have nice, light, regular periods. No cramping, no pain or bloating (I know, I've been incredibly fortunate).

This month I am having the period from hell. Very heavy, feel like I've put on 2 stone in as many days, and absolutely horrific cramps that nothing is shifting.

I've spent hours in a steaming hot bath today, and just want to crawl into bed with a big mug of tea and LittleDog to cuddle.

I'm 44.

You're entotled to moan. It's shit is this...shit.

oldsilver · 20/11/2011 23:20

Docs suggested I ought to have the Mirena coil seven when this all started about a year ago to regulate myself - wasn't keen on the idea myself though.

Welcome.

I'm so glad I found this thread, you know. You lot make me laugh and I feel very comforted knowing we're going through this together. Smile

BelleDameSansMerci · 20/11/2011 23:38

I don't have varying periods yet but have a lot of other symptoms. The bloody rogue hair patrol takes ages now. I may look as if I'm stroking my chin thoughtfully - I'm actually just constantly checking.

On the iron front, if the tablets make you constipated you could try Spatone. It's a iron supplement in water. Tastes a bit metallic (oddly enough) but is easily disguised in grapefruit juice. Really works well.

As for the rest, I don't want to be ooooooold...

And, I can't take any artificial hormones - even the sodding Mirena and the mini-pill make me ill - so no HRT for me. Been sterilised but makes no difference to my impending doom.

MardyBra · 21/11/2011 00:23

I have taken to keeping a pair of tweezers on my desk, so I can absent-mindedly pluck my chin whilst surfing the net.

MardyBra · 21/11/2011 15:15

At least your mum can use the net, Belle. My DM won't touch a computer in case she breaks it.

crazynanna · 21/11/2011 15:44

WeepsInPaleDew · 28/11/2011 21:09

I knew it, deep down. I'll just need a day or two to let it sink in a bit. I'm lucky in that I have a lovely niece and nephew. I will be their cool auntie Weeps.

It's not the end of the world, I've coped with worse and bounced back. Its small tatties in the great scheme of things. It just seems a bit unfair.

Cheers for that thread Beer, helps to know not alone. Smile

I haven't even read today's posts yet. I could be whining and there could be lovely Nobs out there with proper clouds on their horizons.

WeepsInPaleDew · 28/11/2011 21:13

And now I've just posted this on the wrong thread.

Sorry to everyone on here, can you guess what the lovely nurse told me today? I've had a bit of a shock and my head is all over the place.

I'm a bit gutted I didn't get round to having mini-Weeps when I had the chance.

Again apologies. Blush

crazynanna · 28/11/2011 21:18

oldsilver · 28/11/2011 21:39
