Normally I have nice, light, regular periods. No cramping, no pain or bloating (I know, I've been incredibly fortunate).

This month I am having the period from hell. Very heavy, feel like I've put on 2 stone in as many days, and absolutely horrific cramps that nothing is shifting.

I've spent hours in a steaming hot bath today, and just want to crawl into bed with a big mug of tea and LittleDog to cuddle.

I'm 44.

Ok went to docs today about this sodding bleeding and other symptoms.

She said some of my symptoms are Peri...but not all.
The indigestionis not related,nor the itchy skin
She insisted on giving me an internal which I was completely unprepared for! I had the dodgiest knickers on you have ever seen,odd socks,and legs so hairy,they resembled toilet brushes

Anyway...womb is very enlarged,she says,and she is not happy re pain in ovary area (which I thought was just PMT). I described my blood loss,which gave her a face like this

So,blood tests for FBC,LFT (Iknow what hese are),and ferritin(iron?) and Ca 125
(no idea what that is)

Also,have to have a scan,she thinks probable fibroids,and says she feels that will show on scan.
So,in a nutshell,not only Peri,but falling to bits
Funny bit was the question "Do you bleed after sex" to which I replied "well no fella for 6 years,but will have a talk with my Rabbit to see if he's noticed!"

She just looked at me over her glasses

Oh nana, poor you. Try not to worry you, at least she's on the case now, and you may get some resolution to your problems. The Ca 125 thing - is it something to do with calcium levels?

And did she realise you meant your battery-operated rabbit and not your pet rabbit?

nana try really hard not to laugh when you see the size of what they use for an internal (your Rabbit will seem so insignificant afterwards ). I had trouble keeping a straight face and I had DS with me ... he offered to and held my hand, bless, he's only 5 - I didn't quite realise what they were going to use when I went along

BarryStar Thankyou . Apparently CA125 is a screening test for Ovarian cancer,as the symptoms for fibroids are somewhat similar. I am sure it's not that (hopeful).
Maybe she did think I meant a fluffy rabbit,which is why she looked at me like
