Is this the start of the peri-menopause? TMI Warning.

Normally I have nice, light, regular periods. No cramping, no pain or bloating (I know, I've been incredibly fortunate).

This month I am having the period from hell. Very heavy, feel like I've put on 2 stone in as many days, and absolutely horrific cramps that nothing is shifting.

I've spent hours in a steaming hot bath today, and just want to crawl into bed with a big mug of tea and LittleDog to cuddle.

I'm 44.

Apparently BTM tea stops the absorbtion of iron - as I am constantly being told being a very big tea drinker .

Today I have gone into period mode ... it has only been 19 days since the last one - quite an improvement on the 13 days I had the other month [hgrin]

Well period from Hell stopped as suddenly as it started. Two days of misery, then WTF where did you go? Not that I'm complaining, but it was like a week's worth of period crammed into 2 days + hideous cramps. I am Not Used to cramps. They fucking hurt.

Is that normal? The 'wayhay I'm your period and I'm gonna make your life Hell 'I'm done, kthxbai' [hhmm]

Aaaahhhhh! that explains it. Ah well, I will just have to put up with the iron tablets and constipation as I am NOT giving up my tea

BIWI, thanks - I eat quite a lot of lentils and beans and loads of leafy greens (including spinach) and tonnes of broccoli. I will read that a bit more thoroughly later!

I have a 21 day cycle, seems to be getting shorter! Boobs agony, very zitty, bloaty, and put on 3lbs of water in the couple of days before. Night sweats,and very tired.
Pretty sure I'm menopausal. age 44

My periods have done that for about a year now Scarah. It's like turning a tap on and off. After a day of absolutely nothing, it comes back with a vengeance the following day, so forewarned is forearmed! [hangry]

Can I just show my ignorance here, I always thought it was normal for periods to have a 'rest' for a day - I am so naive/thick

I do like typing hangry and henvy and getting a little hat. [hgrin]

Have been practising my hgrins etc etc with great aplomb since they arrived actually had trouble stopping them after Harry Potter . Never used to have the day off in the middle of period malarky it's only happened in the last year or so. Was strictly 3 days after a lovely 25 day gap. Now it's 10+ days of hell with a cheeky 24 hour space to confuse me in the middle and a horrendous 13-19 day gap - if I'm lucky...

I think it's God's way of telling us to drink more wine. Cheers! (Wants wine with a little hat on).

Crazynanna, last night was better just a little unbroken.

I drink loads of coffee... I really need to stop don't I? I am off from school next week, so will try and cut down and wean myself off.

Haven't been to Boots yet, but am popping to town on Sunday so will look out for the Menolieve.

I have never heard of the magnets until now.

After not having a period for nearly 3 months, I have bled like a stuck pig for the past week. And the clots, oh the clots

Never mind though, is our wedding anniversary today [hhmm] so have had champagne and now am having Baileys. I know this will help.
