Normally I have nice, light, regular periods. No cramping, no pain or bloating (I know, I've been incredibly fortunate).

This month I am having the period from hell. Very heavy, feel like I've put on 2 stone in as many days, and absolutely horrific cramps that nothing is shifting.

I've spent hours in a steaming hot bath today, and just want to crawl into bed with a big mug of tea and LittleDog to cuddle.

I'm 44.

Aww Bella Sad Dodgy sleep here too. Awful dreams this time. Don't feel like doing anything today. And my ciggies have run out...was going to have a sneaky one in the garden with my tea and try make sense of these dreams.

ButternutSquish · 19/10/2011 13:51

I dont mind keeping the lust!!! I just thought i'd turned into a dirty, pervy old woman! (think Sid James in a skirt)

And please don't make me stop the alcohol & tea!!!

Mwahahahahahahahouseface · 19/10/2011 19:14

Okay, I too get the lusty dreams and day dreams. Lots. Night sweats when I'm not hot, yes. I noticed today to add to all of the other things that around about now, day 6/7 after my period ended, I get dizzy spells, like a head rush or I've not eaten enough....... even though I have.

Anyone else get dizzy spells after their period?

(not anaemic, full bloods came back okay)

oldsilverbullet · 19/10/2011 19:51

Thing is, I can't stand licquorice..

BarryStar · 19/10/2011 19:55

Ive been getting lusty too - rather unfortunately over one of Dh's consultants. Makes it very difficult to remember exactly what is wrong with Dh sometimes, as have been too busy gazing longingly into lovely Dr xxx's eyes.

Er anyway , wanted to recruit a lady to our cause today. Was walking behind her in a carpark when she stopped abruptly and turned around, virtually bumping into me. "Oh I'm sorry", she said, "I've forgotten where I've parked my car. I'm not even in this carpark".

So own up - which one of you was it?!

Putrifyno · 19/10/2011 20:00

Lust = Enrique Iglesias.

Mardymwahhaha · 19/10/2011 20:00

Hello - can I join - haven't read back through, but I am Mrs Mardyallthetimeperiodsallovertheplacebadnightsweatsbutnohotflushesintheday.
How does that sound as a new user name.

Hi Mouseface - great minds with the hallowe'en names.

19beatle · 19/10/2011 20:03

My boss (female, it's ok!) bought us each the "LadyCare magnet" (or "fanny magnet" as I fondly refer to mine, much to DHs horror!). She's in her mid-50's and I'm early 40's, but we both suffer certain peri-menopausal symptons from time to time. Could well be that the magnet offers the placebo effect, but I wouldn't be without mine now. Discreet, strong magnet that clips into one's knickers and helps to re-align the body. Available on the internet and worth googling to see what it offers, too much info for me to share...

Putrifyno · 19/10/2011 20:17

Clips in one's knickers! Well I'd be guaranteed to lose it in mine Grin

oldsilverbullet · 19/10/2011 20:20

Can't do magnets, I work with a child with a pacemaker - we have warnings to keep them away from the child, it would um..... interfere with the pacing, which of course, would not be good.

mycatsaysach · 19/10/2011 20:21

a friend of mine tried the magnets - fine except for when you go through the checkout scanner at supermarkets.

19beatle · 19/10/2011 20:22

trust me the magnet is quite strong! yet to lose one - have had the odd minor panic when wearing a floaty skirt in the supermarket and the magnet wanted to make friends with the trolley! My skirt billowed out slightly, but I'm slightly exaggerating and no-one noticed....... i hope!!!

bucketbetty · 19/10/2011 20:23

I can't stop thinking about sex. I'm near dying with frustration and I'm bloody single. Arrrhhhh.. It's not fair.

crazynannawitchbitch · 19/10/2011 20:32

Will be the only thing to get in my drawers for years [hgrin]

BeaHellZeBubOnSea · 19/10/2011 21:28

Magnets sound interesting.

I think I'm right in saying that Boots sell the magnets. Should you want something strong in your knickers.

bigTillyMint · 20/10/2011 08:57

Bea Grin That would so happen to me!

I am feeling fed up because the GP has said my iron levels are still low and I have to go back on the iron tablets again. I have had some massively heavy periods in the past, but they are now regular and "normally" heavy on the HRT.
I eat a very healthy varied diet, but rarely any red meat. The tablets make me badly constipated Angry

crazynannawitchbitch · 20/10/2011 08:59

bigTillyMint Sad
Just keep your fluids up Smile

BecauseImAWerewolefIt · 20/10/2011 09:02

bigTillyMint · 20/10/2011 09:02

Grin I must drink at least 8 cups of tea a day in addition to about 4 large glasses of juice/water!!
