eek! £26 is steep.

dottee · 20/08/2005 09:54

Just to give you some idea, I e-mailed Innkeepers Lodge last night and they've given me the Toby Carvery number of the Toby to check.

Just called it and the lady says it's like last year and thinks it's around £14 for three course.

Still thinking about alternatives catering for everyone. Shall we have a roll call on who's interested and gather some information from places where we live. I'm J36 M1 so I'll have a good look round. Will be back.

Nbg · 20/08/2005 10:04

Dh isn't all that keen but I think he will be persuaded!

Brooklands does look good but it is a bit pricy. Toby Carvery sounds a bit more reasonable
Which one were you thinking of?

Everyone knows where we are and tbh it won't reall be a problem on where you all decide as DH doesn't drink so he'll drive us.

Gobbledigook · 20/08/2005 13:16

£26 is fine by me. Cheaper better obviously but I'll go with the flow.

Hiya! Thanks for the offer WM: I am wondering about booking hotel room with Lilibet, then we can have late boozy night and lie-in

Can someone suggest a date soon ... My diary tends to fill up incredibly quickly in September, and it's so much easier to put something in early and work round it.

WM - I was about to email you, and realised I have no longer got your email address - nor yours YG. Could you drop me a line when you have a mo.

Btw we now have Harry Potter Top Trumps, and both the boys know nearly all the cards off by heart.
I thought it was amazing that your ds1 had all that knowledge in his head, but maybe it's me who's the oddity with a complete inability to memorise such useless information! Or is it a boy thing?

Dumbledore has 100 magic, that's all I can remember!

Gobbledigook · 20/08/2005 21:55

100 magic?? Is it like 'proper' Magic then? As in 'Magic The Gathering'???

Janh · 20/08/2005 21:57

Top Trumps will enter your world ere long, GDG - I wouldn't worry about it yet.

Our last set was Bart Simpson glow-in-the-dark Halloween Top Trumps with zombies. Nice.

I'm sure!!

Just dh is a saddo Magic player and something having '100 magic' sounded familiar! It's mighty complicated stuff though n'est pas?

boys is complicated! I bet your brothers had Top Trumps you know - my brother did (or something very like them) and he is 40 so they've been around that long.

Each card has a score - eg if it's sports cars they have points for eg top speed, engine size, bhp and some other useless statistic and you compare cards - if yours has a higher score than the other person's you take their card...after you've played with a pack for about a week you know every stat on every card to the extent that if you have to play a weak one you hand it over without even checking!

Janh · 20/08/2005 22:02

Ooooh, dunno, YG - my free bed isn't there any more! (I am a tight get )

Gobbledigook · 20/08/2005 22:03

Sounds similar but magic is way more complicated. Yes, I think I remember my brothers having those!

Anyway - are you coming to the Xmas meet?

roisin · 20/08/2005 22:03

GDG - I have no idea what you're talking about! LOL!

Are you coming to the Christmas meal?

Gobbledigook · 20/08/2005 22:03

Think JT and I are coming - I guess we'll stay and share a room. Good excuse to get away for the night!
