I'm moving to Sheen and seem to remember Willow2, Bettys, Binker and ks were all up for a night out. I move on 4 August, so sometime in mid/late August or September would be good. I'd love to meet some mums in the area.

Hmmmmm - a garlic-eating vampire. Is that masochism or aversion therapy? Glad you like it, I've just planted next year's lot. Apparently if you mush it up into a liquid it's very good for slugs ie it kills them or they don't like it.

willow2 · 01/10/2003 11:59

Think November 1st is fine for me.

I'm back by the way...

It'l be my third night out in a row! Is this a record?

Haven't asked the boss yet, but seeing as I booked it first, I get to go out to play!

CountessDracula · 02/10/2003 10:47

Excellent. BK what's the address?

bossykate · 02/10/2003 12:10

Strada Richmond 26 Hill Street, Richmond, TW1 1TW
Tel: 020 8940 3141

CountessDracula · 02/10/2003 13:02

OK.

bettys · 02/10/2003 21:18

Oh bum I've just realised I'm supposed to be at an industry jolly that Saturday. It's in the day though - will have to find out where it is and when it finishes before I can confirm.

clucks · 04/10/2003 11:26

Is it too late to come in? It's my last weekend of freedom before going back to work.

bossykate · 04/10/2003 11:50

no problem, clucks. don't worry bettys, i probably won't book it until nearer the time, so just let me know. hope you can make it.

willow2 · 04/10/2003 14:41

BK - they can be a bit funny about bookings - think they limit amount taken - so would give them quite a bit of notice.

bossykate · 20/10/2003 19:07

hi everyone.

ok, a slight wrinkle.

they don't take bookings after 7.00pm on a saturday night. i think we would be waiting ages for a table for eight... so i went ahead and made a booking for 7.00pm, on the "half a loaf" principle.

however, 7.00pm is probably too early for most people so please shout if this doesn't suit...

but i think we'll have to find somewhere else to go.

booked for eight people per my list below, plus clucks.

For god's sake what's wrong with them? I hate these stupid rules! What about the one in Barnes?

fisil · 20/10/2003 22:23

Hey, with no bun in the oven, I'm right up for starting drinking as early as poss. Shall I get there for 7 & keep the table warm? Anyone joining me?

willow2 · 20/10/2003 22:25

Just a thought, but a new gastropub has opened seconds away from Mortlake station. Might be crap, but it would probably be easy for anyone to get to as trains to Richmond stop at Mortlake. I can have a snoop if anyone thinks it worth investigating.

willow2 · 20/10/2003 22:26

Alternatively, there is a very nice tapas bar right next to Richmond Station.

CountessDracula · 21/10/2003 10:18

Willow2 do you mean the Railway? I had a nose when driving past the other day and it didn't look finished.

I went to the Idle Hour in Barnes last night which is a very very sweet pub that does nice food if anyone fancies that. It's very small, down a tiny alley near Vine Rd Park.

CountessDracula · 21/10/2003 10:44

Though if Fisil is keeping the table warm...

I could prob come at 7 actually as dh isn't going out (I thought he was)

fisil · 21/10/2003 19:35

Ooooh, but a tapas bar sounds very nice (as long as not too loud!)

CountessDracula · 21/10/2003 19:36

Tapas bleargh

happyspider · 21/10/2003 20:33

I know the tapas bar in Richmond, I have been there: is it the one called Don Fernando?
It's a Spanish restaurant, so you get tapas, but also main courses like fish and meats and paellas etc etc.
It's actually not bad, can I come too to this meet up?

happyspider · 21/10/2003 20:36

damn, just realized you're meeting on the 1st of November and we're invited to a party!

SofiaAmes · 21/10/2003 23:09

sorry, girls, but I'm not going anywhere unless it's non-smoking (or at least in a non-smoking section). I'm fed up with breathing everyone else's stink while I'm eating and getting asthma attacks during my dinner. I've just a had a few recent miserable smoky dining experiences....and I've sworn to myself that I'm not going to do it anymore.
