Hope you all have a good time :)

StealthPolarBear · 15/08/2010 08:50

morning, did you all have a good time?
juney, disappointed you didn't wear the bee costume :o

EasilyConfusedIndith · 15/08/2010 09:32

Morning!

Just found a FB message from Betty to say she couldn't come.

Was good to get out and be a real life human :) Hope all was peaceful at the intergalactic household.

You given birth yet Leggy? Wink

Soooo. Cake?

LeggyBlondeNE · 15/08/2010 18:37

No, I'm still unpopped. We were going to Warworth Castle today but then I felt the baby dropping further down while driving so we chickened out and just went to Morpeth instead - lovely afternoon exploring though.

It's v annoying to feel the damn child pressing down but nothing else happening!

J isn't 100% opposed to taking mid-labour dictations btw... ;-)

StealthPolarBear · 15/08/2010 18:51

ooh exciting :o

FrozenNorth · 15/08/2010 21:08

Cake? Mmmm. Am still planning to get to the teddybears' picnic barring monsoonesque rainfall - are you still up for attending, Stealth? Anyone else? Sending quick and harmonious labour wishes to Leggy :)

StealthPolarBear · 15/08/2010 21:16

ooh yes i knew i had something planned for this week! Only thing is there's a slight chance we'll be getting some furniture delivered - ordered it yesterday and it's within 5 working days. Does anyone know how John Lewis work - do they let you know? After all I'll be at work for 3 of them!

foxytocin · 16/08/2010 06:02

Hi everyone. Teddy bear's picnic sounds like a good idea. It is also a week when I thought I'd go into work to start preparing the get back. What to do....

EasilyConfusedIndith · 16/08/2010 09:04

They usually ring you I think SPB.

Fingers crossed Leggy :)

Have fun at the picnic folks!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 16/08/2010 09:25

So possibility of picnic this Friday? Weather permitting as always!

foxytocin · 16/08/2010 10:10

There is an official Teddy Bear's picnic on Wednesday at the Botanical Gardens. Wednesday, as far as the Beeb weather is concerned will be the best day of the week for sunshine too. Very tempting for me to not go into work in that case.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 16/08/2010 14:00

Foxy yes just saw your link on your FB page, will come along to that instead!

FrozenNorth · 17/08/2010 22:41

Looking forward to seeing folks there: we'll arriving at about 10.30am and heading off at about 12.45 as I'm teaching at a summer school in the afternoon so I hope we intersect with some of you. We'll have the complete travelling circus with us (MIL, DH, toddler, baby, me, several teddy bears). Should be interesting :)

foxytocin · 17/08/2010 22:47

Oh dear. Will have to retrieve teddies from the loft tomorrow morning.

ButterpieBride · 17/08/2010 22:56

Does anyone know what the weather will be like on the 28th yet?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/08/2010 07:58

No idea - but hope it will be lovely!

LeggyBlondeNE · 18/08/2010 11:15

Random question, because MW didn't tell me... anyone know when they induce in Durham? My SIL told me that her trust (Derby) do it at 40+12 which is earlier than I'd been expecting. Indith were you pencilled in for an induction with W?

Have a good time today!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 18/08/2010 12:50

With me the hospital was automatically going for +10 but when they were told it was a HB they were happy with +14. Of course you can always refuse it entirely, depends how stubborn you are Grin. Mind you by 2 weeks over if ds had not arrived when he did I think I'd have been happy to have him extracted any way possible!

Hope you are relaxing :) (what cake did you have? )

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/08/2010 14:47

FrozenNorth - was it you with the little girl whose name began with R, and you were with your DH, if so I am soooooo sorry! I had one of my blank days!

I did managed to find Foxy though, and we went off with her dds and my ds to search for bears - we managed to find all of them, thanks to Foxy's DD1s eagle eyes! We also had a lovely "pic pic" as my DS calls it!

Chocaholica · 18/08/2010 21:05

Hi everyone, glad the teddybears were fun.

SPB, DD1 threw our Minimoo membership passes in the bin!!! and didn't confess until we had already emptied the bin and the binmen had been. Have rung them though and they will issue us with replacements as they have records of us...

Leggy, thinking of you. Going past dates is no fun (I went to 40+13 with DD1 and was induced). I was at the RVI for both babies so don't know what Durham do. Good luck. My midwife told me to have a glass of wine once I had gone overdue (!). I got VERY grumpy. So GOOD LUCK and try not to shout at the hundreds of people who ring up asking 'so has the baby come yet?'

FrozenNorth · 18/08/2010 21:11

DH seems to think they offer to induce at UHND at +10 (he used to work at a GP's practice in Chester-le-Street) but obviously you can leave it as long as you want!

Kara - yes, it was us, but I didn't realise you were drawing a blank - you were very nice and polite anyhow, and I'm glad you found all the teddies :)

EasilyConfusedIndith · 19/08/2010 07:47

Ah yes choca the "have you had the baby yet?" calls all bloody day. "No I have not had the fcking baby. When I have the baby I will ring you! You are the fcking grandmother do you not think that you'll be told?" Almost as bad it the note of excitement and anticipation of news whenever you ring anybody because they automatically assume that you are ringing with news. I am so grateful that dd was just 3 days late, she took us all by surprise Grin

LeggyBlondeNE · 19/08/2010 19:26

The 'haven't you had that baby yet?' from people who see me around is worst. Clearly I haven't. This giant bump is still here and no baby is attached to my person and no, I promise I won't go into labour right here and now if I can possibly help it...

Bah...

Gave the induction thing more thought and have decided that if it comes to that I'll go for the day after my last opportunity to do it at home. Although I have well and truly Had Enough Now. If I didn't hate being in the labour ward/PAU rooms I'd probably be there already...!
