Hi all, hope anyone who went this morning had fun. I got ordered to rest by midwife yetserday so today is my last day in work and I am of course, running round like a headless chicken getting last minute things tied up.

I am just waiting for tonight when I can switch off!

(Kinda! I have some needy collaborators I don't trust not to hassle me...)

p.s. Of course FrozenNorth is not included in that last slur! She only asks me interesting and non-annoying things!

I have no idea about jobseekers juney. I can offer you a job looking after my children though, then you won't need it. I can pay 2 packs of biscuits a week with a suplementary slice of cake should you be needed for evenings.

Now that is a mighty tempting offer!! What biscuits will it be?

Now they key question of the night is AIBU to drink all of the nice bottle of wine that we bought for tonight because DP is still not back from the leaving do that he was going to for "just a couple"?

Course I'm going to do it anyway but it would be nice to have someone tell me I'm in the right.

Sorry for prolonged absence from thread, DD2's christening and a positive orgy of data entry and analysis have got in the way.

I was wondering whether anyone fancied going to the 'teddy bears' picnic' at the Botanical gardens on 18th August? Adults bringing a teddy get in free and there seem to be some children's activities on ...

SPB don't worry about yesterday, I guessed you were not coming to the park when it was pouring with rain! We went though, the dcs needed to run off some energy! You said you were free Tues and Wed didn't you? Am busy wed but can do Tues. O2 signal is pretty good around here . I'll just have to spend more time on here to allow you to stalk me.

Orange signal is never good but can usually send and receive texts. But for a couple of weeks now I think it has been utterly non existant. A friend of next door called orange and they said "yep, there's a problem". No mention of fixing it

The christening was good but oh my goodness it was TIRING. I got a small amount of M&S stuff and some salads by Ciao Ciao (bakery/coffee shop at entrance to The Gates, was vvvg) but stupidly did the rest myself. As DH said (as we sat chopping melons at 1am on the day itself) we cannot have more children as they will need christening too.

Glad you'd be free on the 18th Stealth and sorry you're not Indith. I will have both DCs in tow, several teddies and possibly also my mother in law (v nice, as MILs go).

Do you know after DD's christening I actually thought the same - thank goodness I'm not having any more :o I'd rather go through childbirth again than another christening - there's not the pressure to perform :)

Can't come to meetup as too busy sorting out wedding. Are you lot coming, btw? It will be the wedding of the millenium, obviously :)

Yup meet at Ebony again. Maybe 7? Or I could book the table for a bit later, 8.30 rather than 8. Last time there was quite clearly not enough cocktail drinking time . Mind you we won't have miss "i'm just going ot bet another drink comes back with a giant thing made of alcohol and bourbon biscuits" this time

One of the only ways for me to get through an evening at Ebony's, I've discovered, is to clean out the dregs of J's 'giant thing with bourbon biscuits'. Just enough to taste the cocktail-y goodness and reduce envy, not enough to breach my weekly unit allowance... ;-)

Still hoping to be there. Had a definite BH this morning while walking into the surgery (first one!) but otherwise not even a hint of pending action.
