What days of the week are best for day time meets? Also are mornings or afternoons easier?

January - I really want to go back to Cafe Continental in Durham! Any takers for coffee & cake?

OP posts:
EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 15:15

Well she's slept for about 20 mins. I am now wearing pjs as I got soaked!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 15:17

Botanics on Friday then, 10.30? Will that suit those pootling over from the uni for cake?

For those planning on coming with children, I'll probably be there from around 10 til 12.30 ish if any of you want to play

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2010 16:28

yes, that's fine, see you then

LeggyBlondeNE · 20/07/2010 17:57

My Friday is turning manic! New post-doc starting, catching up with MSc and summer studnents ... bah. Want to just write papers.

Can come for half an hour though and will probably need it!

FrozenNorth · 20/07/2010 18:32

Suits me, was really really nice to see folks at the picnic on Monday and thank you SPB for the gorgeous nibbles

Intergalactic · 20/07/2010 21:45

Chocaholica, never mind - I can't make it anyway now as DH's Nana has just been diagnosed with leukemia, which means MiL can no longer have DS1 on a Wednesday for the forseeable future. Although possibly my mother will take over occasionally over the summer so maybe will be able to go in a few weeks. God, I'm such a selfish cow, DH's Nana is dying and I'm moaning about how it affects my childcare arrangements!

On the plus side, it means I should be around tomorrow afternoon, so SPB I will hopefully make it round to yours. I don't have your number, although indith could text it to me?

Friday botanics still good for me - I have a doctors appointment at 10.10 but will take the car and come straight from there so hopefully won't be too late.

I'm confused about Saturday night - are we still doing it, or is it August instead?

And finally, yes, Toy Story, had seen that on the Gala website tonight. DH may even take the day off work so as not to miss DS's first proper cinema trip!

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2010 21:52

Oh no! How is your DH coping?
Yes, Indith if you see this please could you text IG my number? We are very easy to find. How about sherry?

PDog · 20/07/2010 21:53

. Can I join in? I was pointed in this direction by Indith when she was kind enough to loan me a car seat a few weeks ago.

I have a 7.5mo DD.

Intergalactic · 20/07/2010 22:09

To be honest, his Nana has been very frail and confused for most of the years that I've known her, her quality of life is pretty poor now so although obviously we will be sad when she does die (which the doctors have told her is likely to be within 6-12 months) I think there will be some relief too - think it will be especially mixed feelings for his Mum who spends a lot of time looking after her and is constantly on call - I expect she'll be relieved to have some freedom back and then feel guilty for feeling like that. She is nearly 90 and has seen five great grandchildren, so it isn't like she's going before her time.

Intergalactic · 20/07/2010 22:17

Actually, no, she is nearly 80, but still, not bad!

And hello PDog (great name!) - do you live round our way too? Hello Sherry also, glad you have found your way here.

Right, I am off to bed - with DS2 having several feeds/cuddles most nights and DS1 up at 6.00 (although mercifully sleeping through the past few nights, touch wood) this is past my usual bedtime!

sherry67 · 20/07/2010 23:28

SPB, I would have loved to come meet you all tomorrow but unfortunately have to take a rain check. My LO is really not well, we thought it was just his teeth bothering him, but he has had a raging temperature all day and ear ache, and now not keeping any food down. think I'm going to have to take him to the doc in the morning if hes not any better. I also need to somehow make it to DS1 1st sports day at the school tomorrow morning so don't have a clue how thats going to work out yet.

Sorry, hope you all have a lovely time though.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 21/07/2010 07:55

Have texted Interglactic. So sorry about your dh's nana.

Hi PDog

Sherry hope he gets better soon.

Night out being rearranged for August, cancelled on Saturday due to some drop outs so better postpone. Please sign up for what nights you can do!

LeggyBlondeNE · 22/07/2010 12:40

Put me down provisionally for the 14th. 21st might be pushing it!

See people for cake tomorrow!

StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2010 14:27

I'm sorry I don't think I'm going to be able to make tomorrow - the window peoplke have called DH and said the outstanding work will be done tomorrow. I assume they're getting here in the morning as they did before. Unless they call to say they're coming in the afternoon, or they get here very early and leave I won't be able to come

EasilyConfusedIndith · 23/07/2010 15:01

D has not been screaming so I can only assume she is feeling better. Still no wiser though. How about A?

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2010 15:03

A seems ok, the dodgy run of nappies must just have been nothing. She'/s asleep on me at the moment - i have only one week of this left

EasilyConfusedIndith · 23/07/2010 15:35
