Just checked the online tracking for this hoover and apparently it is coming between 07.30 and 17.30 . What's the bloody point of tracking if that's all they can tell you? Am very tempted to leave a note on the door if he hasn't come by 12.00, along the lines of 'please leave it in my unlocked shed and lock it after you, I promise I won't report you'.

Also, I was thinking, I'm planning to see Inception on Wednesday with DS2 while DS1 is at MiL's. Anyone free to join me? Chocaholica, am I right in thinking that DD1 would be at nursery that day if she's better? And anyone else who just has an under-1 that day (they don't allow toddlers)?

Intergalactic · 19/07/2010 15:54

The good news - the delivery man followed my instructions and the mini dyson was locked in the shed when we got home.

The bad news - DS1 is completely consumed with terror if I as much as touch the thing! I turned it on and there was wailing, tears, flinging himself on the floor and trying to escape up the stairs (and I'd turned it straight back off)! So much for my dreams of a clean house!

StealthPolarBear · 19/07/2010 17:15

oh no - you had such high hopes

sherry67 · 19/07/2010 17:18

Hi Everyone. I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, I just wanted to say hi. I was given the link by Intergalactic who I met at the doctors last week and she said how lovely you all were and asked if I'd be interested in joining and possibly coming to one of your future meetups. Of course I agreed as it would be lovely to make some new friends in the area. I have 2 little boys, a 4 year and a 1 year old and am a sahm.

StealthPolarBear · 19/07/2010 17:42

Hi sherry Would be lovely to see you at the next meet up!

Chocaholica · 19/07/2010 18:27

Hello, how was the picnic?

Galactic, I would have loved to come to the cinema with DD2 on Wednesday! Used to do that with DD1 as a baby... but am going to the dentist which is in Newcastle on Wednesday. Next time!!

Hi Sherry!

BouncingTurtle · 19/07/2010 19:12

I have to be honest and plead poverty this month and so I will not be able to meet up for night out next Sunday.
Can we try and arrange something for August?

I would be up for a picnic in the Botanical gardens on Friday though if anyone is interested? Assuming weather improves, of course

StealthPolarBear · 19/07/2010 19:25

Well I'd love to but I have a nagging feeling I can't...if I don't remember what 'it' is then I'll see you all on Friday

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 08:47

Ok so the night out list is now greatly diminished!

August then, sign up folks!

14th

Good to see plenty of people yesterday Ds completely crashed out on the bus home then dd followed Course we got home at 4.45 in the pouring rain so they both started screaming as soon as we got off the bus I was rather proud of my rapid cbeebies on, dinner on, light fire (had to as there was no hot water left), serve dinner.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 09:06

Oh and To refer to conversation from yesterday, Toy Story 3 is being shown at cinebabes on the 29th I am very tempted, the blurb says for children aged 3 and under so still includes ds. Bargain

Butterpie · 20/07/2010 09:59

August...
There is some kind of event on the 28th at Gateshead little theatre- some bird is dressing up in a big white dress and snogging her bloke in public

You are all invited, of course

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 12:02

Yes yes yes, planning on going! Who is with me? Of course you have to come on the night out so we can send you off in style. In fact I think cocktails before the meal will be obligatory. Wher is your Hen do info hiding again? CAn't remember when or where it is but I do remember it involved afternoon tea

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2010 12:18

Hen do:

My hen party = 7th of August, Afternoon Tea, 2-5pm (may turn into wine later, depending on what people want),
Location:
Eslington Villa Hotel
Street:
8 Station Road
Town/City:
Gateshead, United Kingdom

Not sure if I'll be able to make it, sorry, not sure if DH will be able to look after the monsters

Is anything happening on Friday, where and what time? Have remembered what it was on my mind that I had to do on Friday, need to pop into work but can do that before or after

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 12:19

completely forgot to say hello to sherry. I'm not far from you, mine are 3.6 and 18 months. I spend most of my time going loopy, new local friends would be a very good thing!

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2010 12:30

What are you up to tomorrow? Welcome here for coffee and chocolate mints! ANd Intergalactic and sherry too if you are free?

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 12:32

Thanks spb Would you trust my dh with your monsters?

Friday is supposed to be cake at the botanics. I'm thinking along the lines of full waterproofs and going anyway even if it rains since it looks like it will be miserable all week.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 12:34

Chocolate mints? Are they dark? Sounds good What time?

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2010 13:05

thanks to him (you??) for the offer but I wouldn't inflict two 3yos on him Will check with my DH what he's doing, but I know he's coming up to a busy time at work and likely to go back to working weekends very soon.
Tomorrow afternoon OK? After nap?
And yes, they are dark chocolate

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 13:47

Yum

Well ok I haven't told dh that I've offered his services but the offer stands. The boys would be fine, was more wondering how A would take it but she has met him and he is wonderful with little ones.

Afternoon is fine, I'm guessing you mean 2.30/3 ish? Dd decided half an hour of nap was enough today and has been up for half an hour already. She is grumpy. Walkies!

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2010 14:04

Yes, as soon as you're ready I hoped, if earlier like today then that's fine, gives them more time to play

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 14:13

Ds used to sleep for 3 hours, sometimes more and still go to bed for 7pm. Those were the days!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 20/07/2010 14:14

Meh, that was supposed to go on your thread spb. Sod it. Taking the screaming child out for a walk. Wish I knew what was bothering her.

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2010 14:37

Hope the walk either cheers her up or wears her out - whatever it is that she needs
