What days of the week are best for day time meets? Also are mornings or afternoons easier?

January - I really want to go back to Cafe Continental in Durham! Any takers for coffee & cake?

SPB - re: adult with chickenpox, DH (GP) says it's worse than child with chickenpox and he recommends vaccination to adults in your position. Think it would be a private jab though. And I'm not sure if he means worse in 'man flu' terms or actually medically worse!

StealthPolarBear · 15/07/2010 12:43

Thank you, might look into that.
TBH mum says she "can't remember" if I've had it (which is not like her at all) is there a test for resistance or something I can have done?

StealthPolarBear · 15/07/2010 12:45

Indith, did you get my text about Sarah?

EasilyConfusedIndith · 15/07/2010 12:49

fun fun. I've def not had it. I have had measles, mumps and german measles though

yes I did! Have you spoken to her?

StealthPolarBear · 15/07/2010 12:52

No I bumped into Rachel in Sainsbury's - well I was in there so long everyone I know was bound to pop in at some point

Chocaholica · 15/07/2010 21:29

Oddly enough I only seem to know people who are pregnant or have little babies. Apparently if you catch it very little you don't develop immunity so am hoping DD2 avoids it.

DD1 has been her usual self all day so she's definitely over the worse and most of the spots have scabbed over.

Leggyblonde, when is your actual due date? how are you feeling? did you say you were planning a home birth? (respect from me, who had the two most medicalized births ever...)

StealthPolarBear · 15/07/2010 21:31

Glad she is better

Anyone fancy a last minutebreastfeeding picnic on Monday? Ex-breastfeeders, pregnant people and non-breastfeeders are welcome of course (in fact anyone who'll eat cake with me!)

Intergalactic · 15/07/2010 22:17

Ooh, possibly - I'll be eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new handheld dyson on Monday though, so whether I can make it depends on how soon it turns up. (What's sadder - that DH and I are buying it for each other as our anniversary present, or that I'm really, really excited about it?)

FrozenNorth · 15/07/2010 23:32

Yes, yes, I would love to come on a breastfeeding picnic, and I was arranging to meet another breastfeeding mum on that day too so can I bring her if she wants to come?

Where is the picnic, if indeed it has a planned location yet? Lunchtime?

I wish there was a smiley to show disproportionate excitement.

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 06:46

Not sure about location, what do you think?

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 07:47

it's going to have to be palace green i think

EasilyConfusedIndith · 16/07/2010 08:32

You need permission for Palace Green. Unless that can be got today it would have to be somewhere else, perhaps down by the river at the Bandstand? Then there is some shelter. I could paint a banner on an old sheet too which we could string up somehow.

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 08:39

Even if it's an informal thing?
(with banners )

Would prefer somewhere with shelter anyway so that's a good idea

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 08:40

Did you just see a B&Q van fly past? He must have been doing 60!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 16/07/2010 08:42

No I missed that! Twunts.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 16/07/2010 08:44

You don't fancy coffee or something today do you? Dcs currently watching TV as I seem to be turning into shouty mummy today. The girl is up to her non-sleeping tricks.

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 08:47

Yes, definitely or playground if it stops raining long enough?
I'm not dressed yet though, having a lazy morning and getting my third cake out of the way

EasilyConfusedIndith · 16/07/2010 08:48

I'm dressed, not brushed hair though and ds is still in pjs I've run out of cake. And chocolate.

BouncingTurtle · 16/07/2010 08:48

So have we made a final decision about when and where we are going?

Next Saturday? At the Capital Indian? Or somewhere else.

Butterpie, I would love to come to your hen part, sounds fab. Will need to check the diary with DH to see what we are doing that weekend. I haven't publish a schedule for Auguest, so I can keep that afternoon free work wise!

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 08:48

I really think we should swap DCs overnight - so one night you're pretty much guaranteed to be up all night (with 4 of them) but then the next night you're guaranteed an undisturbed night

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 08:50

I have a failure cake - one that didn't come out of its tin properly so is in pieces, but still edible

Sorry for hijacking the night out plans with my picnic btw

EasilyConfusedIndith · 16/07/2010 08:50

Great Idea!

So you'll take mine tomorrow then yes?

BT Capital is fine by me.

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 08:54

does that mean you're having mine tonight?

Can the slogan on the banner be
"Here's a novel idea. You don't want to see other women's breasts, stop looking at them. Brace yourself, hold on, wait for it. It's not all about you. "?

From here

Bit aggressive?

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 08:56

or how about
"It's fine for you to sit and watch me having my dinner AS LONG AS YOU'RE DISCREET"

EasilyConfusedIndith · 16/07/2010 08:59

Doh! See how tired I am! I meant tonight! I want to sleeeeeeeeeeep.

Sod it, chuck me some of that failure cake would you. I shall just sit here and sulk and consume as much crap as I can.
