What days of the week are best for day time meets? Also are mornings or afternoons easier?

January - I really want to go back to Cafe Continental in Durham! Any takers for coffee & cake?

Oops, no the in-laws are up on the 24th ... altho I'm tempted to try it ;)

FrozenNorth · 06/07/2010 21:26

Won't be able to make any evening stuff for a while, but will happily join Stealth in shouty posting on the morning after.

Can anyone suggest any toddler-friendly days out in Durham that don't involve farm animals? DD1 has an, erm, issue around poo (both human and animal) at the moment

BouncingTurtle · 06/07/2010 22:46

Of course your dd is a cute accessory SPB!

No completely understand about the difficult age!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 07/07/2010 08:00

We spend a lot of time in the Botanic Gardens Frozen. Feed fish then siton grass near the pond while toddlers run around in circles. Seems to entertain my 2 anyway!

LeggyBlondeNE · 07/07/2010 10:34

Crook hall gardens may work similarly?

Or if you're happy to drive out of town you could go to the beach at Seaham or to one of the English Heritage sites in the region or some such.

spiggy · 07/07/2010 13:11

Hello all and welcome to the newbies. Can't stop as work is crackers at the moment but wanted to bag a spot on any night happening Can do any week except the 7th Aug.

Hi Spiggy!

So 24th is winning so far. Must keep it bumped, I'm guessing purple and butter will find their way here soon enough. Have prodded Mermaid but can't find anything quiet enough that sticky has posted on recently to yell at her so if you see her send her over!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 07/07/2010 16:00

bump!

Mermaidspam · 07/07/2010 16:27

Thanks Indith!

We're on holidays 24th July - 7th Aug! Bloody typical.

Let me know when the next is though x

EasilyConfusedIndith · 07/07/2010 16:30

Cancel, we're more important

Mermaidspam · 07/07/2010 21:44

I'm sure I could get you all in the car (going to Cornwall).

Chocaholica · 07/07/2010 21:50

Hi all

Shame I missed cake last week! Let me know if you're planning it again soon as I am always up for cake.

I can't do nights out though, not at the moment. Will join in the collective shout out the next morning....

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2010 21:55

Fridays at the moment for me, I wouldn't mind a trip to the botanic gardens.
Can we get takeaway cake from the cafe?

StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2010 08:42

Fri 23rd?
Or Fri 30th, but will have to be lunchtime for that one?

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/07/2010 15:58

Yes they do cake and you can eat it outside. Can't remember the cost, maybe £4-ish, we have a season ticket.

Night out confirmations please folks!

LeggyBlondeNE · 09/07/2010 09:47

Oo Botanical cake! It takes me all of 3 minutes to walk over from my office so count me in for that!

We have nascent plans to head to Alnwick for the day on the 24th so looking even less likely for me to make it then, but still cake on another day would have to do instead.

(I suggest for next month we aim for the 14th. That way I'll either be in labour or out for dinner, which I see as a clear win-win situation! )

FrozenNorth · 09/07/2010 10:33

Botanical cake sounds fabulous

Thanks for all the suggestions, next time we meet up I think I'll be brave and bring both of mine rather than just the quiet immobile one.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 10/07/2010 14:36

Any day for the botanics for me. Just yell

Where are butter and purple?

EasilyConfusedIndith · 10/07/2010 14:47

Have Facebooked them. Can someone with CAT please message stickylittlefingers?

BouncingTurtle · 10/07/2010 15:57

I am thinking of inviting a friend of mine who lives in H-l-S to come along to our night out (she is currently working FT at present), if that would be okay with you guys?
She is aware of MN, not sure if she has actually posted but I think you would all love her as she is utterly mental and totally lovely

She is also pg with her first (her DH does have a dd though) and she is very keen to bfd. I thought it would be lovely for her to make some other bfing buddies as well as me for when eventually I move away.
I have lent her Politics of Bfing & Food of Love!
Bottle feeding friends too as well!! Don't want to leave you guys out either

EasilyConfusedIndith · 10/07/2010 16:22

Fine by me

BouncingTurtle · 11/07/2010 19:56

My friend can only make the 7th.
