What days of the week are best for day time meets? Also are mornings or afternoons easier?

January - I really want to go back to Cafe Continental in Durham! Any takers for coffee & cake?

Yay I am allowed out

EasilyConfusedIndith · 01/07/2010 14:13

Woohoo!

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2010 14:48

playground next week? It will just be me and A, but will we do? T is going to Grandma's for 2 nights, I will barely see him but after yesterday when he was begging to go outside and I was sayng no and forcing him to watch TV I think it's for the best

EasilyConfusedIndith · 01/07/2010 14:53

Oh the poor boy. Playground is good.

Intergalactic · 01/07/2010 22:43

Yikes, I had no idea this thread moves so fast! I have plans tomorrow, would have loved to come otherwise. 24th or 31st are both fine for me for a night out, although (lame, anxious mother moment) I'm not sure I'd be ok leaving DS2, I've never tried him with a bottle yet and he'll only just be three months (although hopefully at least DH will be able to walk by then!). Maybe I should just bring the baby??

Glad to see you are both liking the Connectas! I've ended up buying three natural wraps to dye different colours (they were on 3 for 2, what else could I do?!).

Will try to keep a closer eye on here next week so as not to miss any last-minute meet-ups!

BouncingTurtle · 02/07/2010 06:50

Intergalatic - SPB brought her dd on a night out a few months ago, and she was fine. That was when we went to the Capital Indian. There was a woman making cat bum faces, but there were I think about 8 of us and a couple of us just glared smiled sweetly at her. SPB didn't notice at the time as she was sitting with her back to Cat Bum Face. And the were lovely!

Should we go back there peeps?

Just over 3 hours until CAKE!

thatbuzzingnoise · 02/07/2010 07:04

should be able to make either 24th or 31st. oh, I am a long timer.

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 07:17

She's right Intergalactic! If I went again I wouldn't go to the pub before (what was I thinking???) but the restaurant was fine! DD is now too old to go out at night but still a bit young to be left.
I hear you live near me - I must know you by sight, surely??

Intergalactic · 02/07/2010 08:12

Ooh, where do you live SPB? My village, or Indith's? Probably I have seen you around. Will have to try to see you at the swings next week - or maybe we will bump into each other at Adventure Valley as I'm planning to go at least once a week (desperate to get my money's worth now I've paid 40 quid!).

I suppose I could try eating out with DS2 - we had him in a Chinese last week for MIL's birthday and that was pretty stressful, but that was combined with entertaining DS1, DH's broken ankle and his annoying aunt and uncle (aunt who asked me when DS2 was three weeks whether a) he was sleeping through the night and b) whether I was back working yet!). So with just me and him and non-irritating people it might work better!

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 08:36

I live near Indith - we're pretty much neighbours. I was thinking I'd have seen you at the doctors but if your baby's so small I doubt we've been to many of the same clinics! How old's your DS1?
Sorry you can't make it today - definitely up for meeting at adventure valley, I'm in the same position> I went a couple of times last weekend but in the outdoor bits there isjust no shade! And yet it's annoying to be sitting at the soft play bit when it's a lovely day

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 08:37

i used to live in your village though - opposite the methodist & RC churches

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 09:33

setting off as soon as they make an appearance

Intergalactic · 02/07/2010 13:31

DS1 is 22 months - he used to have quite long hair until a few weeks ago and he has a distinctive name. Although we don't go to the clinic much - I used to go to a baby group where they could weight them so only ever been a few times.

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 14:03

no, don't know you
Sounds like I would have just been back at work when your DS was born so no chance of bumping into you at the waiting room!
Will have to meet up soon.

Aarrgh I've just got back and they've damn well gone! I don't believe it! Needed to mention something to them too. WTF are they playing at?

Anyway, calmer now, was lovely to see you all this morning, thanks for coming along to make me feel better about missing the last one

FrozenNorth · 02/07/2010 17:37

It was really lovely to meet you folks today - sorry I was so late. What a nice bunch of people!

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 21:05

let's do it again soon! And hopefully our friendly waitress will be back too

BouncingTurtle · 04/07/2010 09:52

Yes I missed her, though the young lad was quite nice!!

Definitely can't do 31st for night out, taking DS to DH's DPs caravan - they have kindly agreed to look sfter DS for the day while DH and I go to Blackpool Pleasure beach!! The caraban is at Lytham St Anne's so rather handy, and we may well stay over night there.

StealthPolarBear · 04/07/2010 10:41

enjoy yourselves

If you see anyone on your travels over the wider MN then poke them! Not seen stickylittlefingers around for a bit!

Intergalactic · 04/07/2010 20:51

Can't really do 7th - we have DH's cousin's wedding on 8th and I need to be all fresh and ready for that.

In other news, I have been testing my gauze wraps and they are brill - I don't know why I had the idea that they'd be more complicated than stretchy wraps. Have already dyed one blue and will be doing the light purple one next. Don't think I can leave the third undyed though as the gauze texture looks quite bandage-like, so it's kind of an ancient mummy effect (no pun intended!) or as DH said, 'like something is wrong with your baby'!

Think my plans for this week are A Valley on Monday and Thursday morning, Beamish Tuesday morning and park on those afternoons depending on the weather/state of my house. So if anyone fancies any of that, let me know.

LeggyBlondeNE · 05/07/2010 09:23

I can do the 7th. (Taking the earlier advice to keep planning here!)

Got old housemate visiting for last girly weekend without baby on the 31st/1st; but she and our other friend in town are both fans of Ebony so we could always see you before dinner maybe ;)

LBNE - can you do the 24th? I wasn't sure from your post.

StealthPolarBear · 05/07/2010 10:28

I won't be coming on nights out for a while as ali is in that difficult stage where she's too old to be considered a cute accessory but too young to be left Will make shouty posts the morning after
Intergalactic, which park?

StealthPolarBear · 05/07/2010 10:40

ooh intergalactic how old's your baby? Could you by any chance use a 9-12m snow suit? It's an M&S one that DS had, but DD fits it now and she's not needed to wear it much recently
