Hi girls - new lady to mums net - i had my lovely girl 5 weeks ago, recently moved to the north east(darlo), from the north west(manchester).

How are you all? and the babies/toddlers.

smile

Indith · 11/05/2010 15:34

Hello and congratulations

I'm guessing with a 5 week old a night out on Saturday won't be high on the agenda but stick around and click on "watch this thread" at the top, we are rather partial to cake related meet ups

ButterPie · 11/05/2010 15:36

Ooh, hi! I'm from Preston, not too far from you, we can talk in NORMAL accents to each other

BouncingTurtle · 11/05/2010 16:38

LOL @ ButterPie and her normal accent!

Misssmile, I am not too far from you, I am in Stockton!

Should be able to get there for 7:30pm.

I have just Googled Ebony (as I have never heard of it).

'Ebony, Durham's only Champagne Bar bar is exclusive & sophisticated.'

Oh dear, I doubt they'll let me in... or ButterPie for that matter

Pity I am driving, those cocktails sound tempting! I think I will have to try one of the virgin ones...

juneybean · 11/05/2010 21:00

Yes yes I should be driving BP Is Spiggy coming??

OP posts:
misssmile · 11/05/2010 21:54

thank you for the warm welcome - i'm actually a blackburn girl! A lancs accent and working in hartlepool - is hard at times lol!

I'm busy on the night your meeeting up - but let me know when the next one is!

smile

juneybean · 11/05/2010 21:57

Eeesh I'm so rude! Welcome to the North East misssmile

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 12/05/2010 07:41

Absolutely - we have daytime meets as wells as night time meets.

Also we could try to organise a meetup in our neck of the woods as well, will need to put my thinking cap on as it will be have to be somewhere handy for public transport.

spiggy · 12/05/2010 13:51

Welcome to the NE misssmile- I'm another originally from the NW- Liverpool in my case.

juney- yes I'm coming, can I cadge a lift again?

exclusive and sophisticated champagne bar? We should be ok as long as we meet there and don't try and get in after we've been out for a while I might have to wear the new dress by friends made me buy as it is possibly the only smart thing I have at the moment. The design does increase my chances at getting served at a busy bar though. As long as the person behind the bar is male and straight that is...

right really ought to go and do some work. spent most of the day on bbc news waiting to find out who the new boss will be. Looks like Vince Cable- Hurrah, we thought we might get Osborne at one point

Indith · 12/05/2010 14:04

Ooooh Spiggy, get you flashing your norks about

I have no idea what I'm going to wear

juneybean · 12/05/2010 16:51

Yes yes Spiggy of course you can have a lift!

I have nothing to wear

OP posts:
BettySwollux · 12/05/2010 21:24

Ooh, Ebony! Their raspberry mojitos are yummy.

I have nothing to wear either, been feeling really down lately so not in the mood for shopping .

Sure I'll cheer up when I see you lot. A night out is just what I need.

BouncingTurtle · 12/05/2010 23:29

I better shave my legs....

DidYouDoThisOnMyHead · 13/05/2010 15:15

Glad we can be of service Betty. I too am really looking forward to it.

Still no clue what to wear but had better join BT in shaving my legs! Why is it that I always try so hard to buy fewer, good quality clothes but end up with a couple of nice jumpers then a load of cheap basic tops as I can never find anything nice. TIs rubbish. Then of course the cheap tops all end up needing throwing out. I a back to having nothing to wear again. Urgh. Perhaps we need a group retail therapy trip one weekend where we force each other to try things on that we wouldn't usually look at!

DidYouDoThisOnMyHead · 13/05/2010 15:16

(it's Indith by the way, thought i would try out a change)

BouncingTurtle · 13/05/2010 17:04

Indith that does sound quite tempting (says the home shopper who hates shopping).

Mermaidspam · 13/05/2010 17:19
BettySwollux · 13/05/2010 19:33

Shopping sounds good, but for now it'll have to be something old. I think maybe the red top as its clean and it fits.

Like the new name Indith, I need a new one, will get thinking cap on.

spiggy · 13/05/2010 20:27

Thanks for the lift juney- usual place? what time?

shopping sounds good. I am a rubbish shopper, the new frock was a result of 2 friends forcing me to try out different outfits and I love it. never would have picked it out myself though, mainly cos it is a bit more revealing than my usual (jeans and trainers)

that is if it has survived DP putting it on a "nice hot cycle" when it was handwash only

have been perusing the cocktail menu in preparation for saturday. They look sooo nice!

juneybean · 14/05/2010 23:43

The galleries at 7.15pm I think?? :D

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 15/05/2010 07:17

Legs are now shaved

Still can't decide what to wear...

Deciding between my black hankerchief print dress, or a navy lace trim twinset with my white linen cropped trews (I wore the black ones yesterday and DS got Dairylea on them ).
Oh if I want to go uber posh I have this dress in black.

I have anothe posh frock, in ivory/ecru/lilac/purple, which I wore for a wedding last year but I think that is way too over the top!

I am thinking hankerchief print dress, just because I rarely wear dresses these days!

StealthPolarBear · 15/05/2010 07:30

Hope you all have fun tonight - would it be mean of me to come on and shout in the morning?

Who did what to your head Indith?

StealthPolarBear · 15/05/2010 07:30

Actually that sounds like a question a 3yo would ask you - am I right??

Butterpie · 15/05/2010 09:47

So, er, what's going on?

StealthPolarBear · 15/05/2010 10:11

ooh I'll go and check Alice again - she might have aged a year and suddenly started sleeping well
Glad you can go ButterPie!
