excited excited excited.

Butterpie- 7:15 at galleries to meet juney, then ebony for cocktails then Ask for dinner.

BTW there were a couple of people on the Great North East meet up asking if we were going to do another one so maybe we need to put our thinking caps on.

DidYouDoThisOnMyHead · 15/05/2010 13:43

I'll lend you "The Little Mole who knew that it was none of his Business" SPB

See you all later!

juneybean · 15/05/2010 13:48

Ooo good idea spiggy, weather is getting out nice maybe a park/beach type setting ?

OP posts:
spiggy · 15/05/2010 15:09

I was thinking something outside would be good. Picnic on the beach would be fab if we could get a nice day.

See you later everyone

BettySwollux · 15/05/2010 15:29

See you all tonight, really looking forward to it

Butterpie · 15/05/2010 18:30

Right, setting off in a minute. I have a new phone number, but can be contacted via fb if need be (fancy phone)

StealthPolarBear · 15/05/2010 21:25

well I'm having a glamorous night. My constipated daughter is definitely no longer constipated and making up for lost time.
Both DCs have been exhausted all day but DS was revived by a bath, and DD found a half hour power nap was all she needed. DS was awake until about half eight, wide awake, playing with toys, shouting for me. Once DD woke she was all smiles and happiness too . Thankfully they are both asleep, I have some washing on and am going to finish that glass of wine I poured myself with tea, have a hot chocolate and go to bed.

StealthPolarBear · 15/05/2010 21:26

I might even go the whole hog and top my wine up first!
Hope you've all had a wonderful night

BouncingTurtle · 16/05/2010 08:51

Thanks SPB! Glad dd is okay now

We did have a lovely time, I hope those of you who indulge in cocktails haven't got sore heads!

Now we need to plan the next meet up!

Daytime, if weather is nice how about a picnic somewhere?

Butterpie · 16/05/2010 10:03

Oh, that would be lovely!

spiggy · 16/05/2010 10:20

no sore head but then I did get a lie in to help me recover....til 8 anyway!

Picnic sounds great. anyone know any good places?

DidYouDoThisOnMyHead · 16/05/2010 10:34

It was a good night. I was very of the alcoholic cocktail drinkers. I'm shattered this morning though! Dh is one of those fools who dresses in lycra and messes about in a boat at silly hours of the morning so no sleep in here. I'm ignoring the dcs while waiting for him to get home so I can have a long shower.

Butterpie · 16/05/2010 10:44

Saltwell park? Or I had a lovely picnic the other day in the park next to Sunderland Winter Gardens...Neither is Durham though.

BouncingTurtle · 16/05/2010 11:19

The winter gardens are nice, my only objection to Sunderland is parking can be expensive. Though there is a fairly cheap one over near the Bangladeshi Centre, and it is not too far to walk to the Winter Gardens.
It is handy for those with public transport as the train station is fairly close by too.

Butterpie · 16/05/2010 11:34

Aye, I'm being a bit selfish tbh, as we could just hop on the bus to Heworth and the metro to Sunderland and be there in half an hour, as opposed to the hour and a half bus ride to Durham. I am aware though that this is the Durham meet up, so Durham could be better for most of you...

BouncingTurtle · 16/05/2010 11:55

Well I don't mind since Durham is not that much further than Durham, and parking is cheaper too. But I'll leave it up to the Durhamers!

Mermaidspam · 16/05/2010 12:14

Chester le St park is good for picnics, and if it's on a Monday or Wednesday (or after June 25th) I can come and give lifts!

LeggyBlondeNE · 17/05/2010 09:09

Hello ladies,

lovely to meet y'all at the weekend. I have now changed my username as you can see (still playing with initials though!). Got back to find my beloved looking baffled and confused that I'd stayed out so late!

Our exams start today and as of tomorrow I'm marking for two weeks straight, with random meetings (well not that random, usually Wednesdays!) at regular intervals during and thereafter but otherwise quite flexible, so I'll hover and see what's decided.

I think that made sense...

BouncingTurtle · 17/05/2010 15:00

Glad you enjoyed it and that you weren't freaked out by us all

EasilyConfusedIndith · 01/06/2010 13:25

Hello!

So since we did a night out in May, now it is June it must be time for CAKE!

Who's with me?

BouncingTurtle · 01/06/2010 19:03

Yey! Cake!

I'm there

How about week after next? DS will be in nursery 2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday so will have to make it Wednesday or Friday - sadly nursery days are for me to work not to have cake lol.

Chocaholica · 06/06/2010 21:11

Shamelessly gatecrashing here, as I posted on Mumsnet Local and nobody has answered (need a no-friends emoticon!).

I'm in Chester-le-Street, with a toddler and new baby. Would love to meet for cake/ whatever but don't drive and am a bit of a novice at the 2 kids thing (ie at how to stop toddler from running away while feeding baby...).

Since I am here - is anyone around from C-le-Street and if so can you recommend any toddler groups which are friendly?

LeggyBlondeNE · 07/06/2010 16:30

Oo, both days I can do and cake sounds good.

Chocoholica - no ideas about groups, but the X2/X1 bus does stop just across the road from one of the best-Cake-serving coffee shops in Durham (although now I think about it, there are at least four great places for cake in town!)

BettySwollux · 09/06/2010 10:52

Hi chocaholica, Im just up the road from you in Lumley, our playgroup is fab, can be a wee bit cliquey (small village mentality) but I will talk to you .

EasilyConfusedIndith · 11/06/2010 18:00

Sorry! Been sunning myself on the lovely windy beaches of Northumberland

So how about either 23rd or 30th June?

Choca would be lovely to meet you
