Thought I'd take the bold step of starting a new thread as the otherone was getting a bit long.

So lets start again - who can make the Saturday 28th June for the second lunchtime Liverpool meet up?

I'm happy to book table etc this time to relieve eyelash of the burden.

Rhubarb,
The trains are good from Manchester and I will be using the train if you want to still come..The cafe was only a 30 second walk from the station...I would be on the same line as you possibly....it would be nice for you to join us....let me know I'm sure we can sort it out.

Rhubarb · 19/06/2003 14:57

Is it next Saturday? I'm not coming from Manchester but Preston. I used to work in Manchester you see so I know it quite well, and I get the train there from time to time as it is a changeover point when I'm visiting family. I know there is a direct train from Preston, but can someone tell me where the cafe is? And I'm sorry to be a pain, but were you all planning lunch? I suppose there is no reason for me not to go. Are you still accepting latecomers?

woozle · 19/06/2003 22:35

Hi Rhub, yes it's still on for the 28th although not many takers yet!

If you get a train to Lime Street you then need to change trains and get onto Merseyrail (a one minute stop but maybe easier than walking) to Central Station.

Get out at the station and turn left at exit (rather than straight on).Small Sainsburys in station complex on your right. This will bring you onto Bold Street. Life Cafe is immediately adjacent on your right.

Do come - its an easy friendly city to find your way around and we're not bad either!

Hi there. I wanted to come along too but can't make the 28th I'm afraid but will keep a look out for the next meet up! I am in Manchester so if any one else wants to meet up over here sometime too that would be great. I've been using Mumsnet for a couple of years for advice etc but can only use the internet at work so don't get to post too much. Am getting a home pc soon so that will be easier. Have a lovely day on the 28th!

Rhubarb · 20/06/2003 13:59

And are you booking for lunch? If so, what time?

Moomicat · 20/06/2003 19:05

HI

Just tuned back in; glad to hear we are still on for the 28th, can't wait to put faces to names.
Just one thing - is it just us or babies/children too (and also what time as I will need to arrange babysitter if just mums)- looking forward to getting out and about.

Don't know if anyone else has discovered this, but I accidentally typed the mumsnet website address wrongly so it read netmums.com and found another mums-type website that also exists up here in the North West but its Manchester not Liverpool.
Reading about other mums who wanted to meet up in Manchester, I would also be interested in this as I live in Liverpool but work in Manchester (near city centre). Catch you all soon,

Moomicat

woozle · 21/06/2003 20:04

Have booked the table for 12 midday in the name of Vivienne (just the name we used last time)

It worked well without children/babies last time- some (Ali P if she's delivered) and Ninja may bring tiny babies if they manage to come at all

Moomicat - I'm the editor of Netmums/Preston! It is a fantastic site and well worth joining as registration is free! Very good local info.

So 12pm at Life Cafe on Bold Street, is that right? Well please book me in too, so far I can't see any probs with that, so I will meet you all there!

woozle · 22/06/2003 20:47

A favour to ask anyone who is coming on Saturday.
My friend is having twins next week and is short of one moses basket.

If any of you have a spare one to loan it would be much appreciated.

See you all Saturday, 12pm Life Cafe, Bold Street Liverpool

Moomicat · 22/06/2003 23:09

Woozle - I have finished with our moses basket and can offer it out for your friend. Shall I bring it Saturday or do you want to make alternative arrangements? Its a Winnie the Pooh one with a rocking stand. The moses basket itself is not new but the mattress is very new (cool air thingy one).

C U all Sat 12.00 (DH can babysit!!)

woozle · 23/06/2003 08:18

Moomicat how fab!

Whatever is easier for you! If you can bring on Saturday great if not we'll sort out and I'll pick up from you in the week.

Mumsnet comes to the rescue again. Thanks!

Sorry to do this to you all, but I will have to pull out of the meet-up. Dh got his car trashed on Sunday and so will have to spend all this weekend trying to get an old-banger through its MOT so we can have a temporary car. That means I get dd all weekend, and she would be bored if I took her with me. Sorry, will try and make the next one!

woozle · 24/06/2003 19:15

Not to worry Rhubarb. Thanks for letting us know. Keep in touch

Sorry ladies,
I'm not going to be able to make it today (hope someone gets this message before the meet up so you don't worry about me )

I'll explain why at the next meet up
S O R R Y but have a great time, I feel I am really missing out!

Moomicat · 28/06/2003 22:53

Hi Everyone
Just to say the 2nd meet-up took place today in Liverpool (no puddings though - we were all very restrained!)and I had a fab time; enjoyed meeting and greeting and next time I'm definitely having a pud. Spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying some long-awaited retail therapy and it probably would've been cheaper for me to have a six course banquet and several bottles of vintage champers after the sort of spending spree I just embarked on. Oh well!!!!

Anyway, we missed those of you who couldn;t make it and decided upon a date for the 3rd meet-up so hope you will all be able to join us then - although some may be on hols etc. Its Sat 2nd Aug, 12.00 Life Cafe, Bold St I'll book the table in good 'ole Viv's name again and this time we WILL get through the pud menu, promise.
All those in favour say "AY" (or "EY" depending on your roots!)
Cheers
Moomicat

chatee · 29/06/2003 10:16

got that date in the diary hope to be there this time and moomicat I'm definately up for a pud!!!

eyelash · 29/06/2003 12:39

Moomicat - that date is fine for me. Must say I am finding the lunches very relaxing!

Chatee - just saw one of your other posts and congratulations to you. You must be very pleased.

See you all soon.

PS - Can anybody from Manchester/other North-westerners join us next time?

woozle · 29/06/2003 19:36

Moomicat - fine be me too. Many thanks for moses basket - my friend is very pleased!!

Chatee what fab news - remember you said you'd been trying. Lots and lots of luck with the pregnancy. Hope to see you in August
