i will need to confirm numbers to the restaurant next Monday 19th May and pay a deposit of £10 per head.

so i would be grateful if everyone would please give final confirmation by Sunday 18th May. if i don't hear from you by then, i'll assume you can't make it.

Have been grappling with nipples and things (my own you'll be glad to hear!) so just online for the first time in ages. I notice I have missed the confirmation deadline, if its still possible would like to come as DH is braving being alone with them. If it's definitely too late I'll understand and pick up my head and walk away. Though you'll miss a gorgeous new size 8 me.

I am really sorry, but I'm going to have to cancel. Combination of things - basically dh has been working in the states and has only just got back but has had to work evenings so Friday will be our first chance to see each other. Plus ds is really not well (croup, nose bleeds and puke - yum, yum). So, much as I'd rather get out of this vomit stained house, I think I am going to have to stay put. If things change I'll let you know - but wanted to give advance warning in case anyone else wanted to go in my place.

PS: BK - let me know how much money I owe you and I'll sort out a cheque.

Thanks bk...I'm going to look at the train timetable situation. I'm leaving my present job tomorrow and I haven't organised any evening entertainment. Wanted to meet you rabble for long time. I've got shed loads of work to do during the day, but hopefully I can get it done before six...which leaves me a little time to get up to the big smoke. I'm hoping for champers, well at least cava as a leaving thing.

If I wasn't to make it, would you still have to pay the ten squid deposit? What about turning up late?

since i made the booking there have been a couple of cancellations and a couple of people who have asked to be included.

the current state of play seems to be that we have reached an equilibrium of 20 people. as far as the restaurant goes, i think 20 people +/- one or two people won't be a problem.

the issue will be if tomorrow a number of people (say, five, ten, more? - i really hope not!) figure they will be the one or two people who drop out... hope that makes sense.

i plan to make a final call to the restaurant tomorrow at about 2pm, do you think you will have a better idea by then on whether you could make it?

i'm sure we could all try turkish cava or equivalent

No idea what I'll be wearing. Which reminds me. I really should do some laundry. After preparing for a s*load of appraisals tomorrow, I am nowgoing to watch Panorama...all about the Dutch adulterating our kids chicken nuggets!

I'll try and post mid afternoon tomorrow with a more definite arrangement. Hope I can make it.

bossykate, I'm having last minute problems with both babysitter(who says she can't now get to our home before 7.00) and husband who has stupidly forgotten I was going out alone and has included me in some plans. I am still trying to sort something out but at the moment, it looks like I can't make the meal, really sorry. Will pay any deposit I owe.

Scummy, I've had them set up a webcam so I can keep an eye on you. Seriously, good luck, I find it's it's one of the hardest times (if you only knew how close I came to slipping on the first meet-up I went on, and that was after 3 years without)

well damn it. Didn't take up people's suggestion on another thread, to make up the appraisals, so I've started doing them and they are taking foreveer. Plus I've got loads of other loose ends to tie up before I can leave tonight. So doesn't look like I'll make it

I'm afraid I am, BK- I've just emailed you. I'm feeling really not well and don't think I'd be very good company tonight. Would probably fall asleep in my magnificent Turkish food since I can bearly keep my eyes open and have an awful migrainey type headache. I'm really sorry. I'm happy to stump up for the deposit- please make sure you aren't out of pocket.
