It's just me & my DD right now but I'm hopeful that other Plymouth mums will find us. I'm 32 yrs old, my girl is six months & we're ready to be sociable. Who else is? Looking forward to finding out

If the weather is fine on this Friday the baby group that Anniemac & I have been to is meeting in Freedom Fields park. There quite a few newborns & infants in this group not just toddlers. The mamas are friendly also. Come & join us if this appeals

can't do friday as ds1 off school (teacher training day) so we are all off to Crealy

spacepancakes · 17/06/2009 14:44

I'd like to meet up too please.

I live on the hoe and I'm not working at the moment so any day is good for me. I won't stand anyone up.

I have ds 18 months and dd 10 years.

Also be interested in toddler groups, preferably non-religious or downright scarily unsafe, which are my current options.

19fran76 · 17/06/2009 15:08

Hi spacepancakes, the toddler group mentioned earlier in the thread does have links to the Waterfront church (they help run the language school location I believe) but is entirely non-religious in content. Most toddler groups seem to be on church hall premises so I presume you just wish to avoid any overt attempts on the religious conversion of you & your DCs? I'm sure others can help with some recommendations.(I did also visit a few around the Stoke area & a very hectic session at the Baptist church on Mutley.)

Have a splendid time at Crealy ooogs. Post a review, I've never been .

Toddler Groups I go to..

Tues 1-2pm, Weston Mill, just behind the school/fire station in the Community Centre/hall area at the back.

Weds 1-3pm, Barne Barton, Tamar Folk I think it is, it can sometimes be a little hectic, but lately has been quiet, there were 8-9 kids today, 5 toddlers, 3 babies. I like this one best out of them all

Thurs, Tamar Folk, Victoria Road school, St. Budeaux. Again, this one is fab, babies/toddlers, only small but the kids & I love it

I live in St Budeaux btw.

spacepancakes · 17/06/2009 17:01

Thanks fran and Claire.

Think I will try the 'Helping Hands' group.

Where will it be on Friday if the weathers not good enough for the park?

Yep, trying to avoid religious conversion attempts and religious songs at groups, i'm sure ds is oblivious but it bugs me no end. I'm more of a Richard Dawkins type!

Thanks for the group recommendations, Claire, but I think they may be a bit far for me, no car and all.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 17/06/2009 20:11

Hello space welcome!

So, friday, I am up for it. What time?

19fran76 · 17/06/2009 21:06

Pav, I am not a morning person so can we say 10:15?

space, as regards plan B. There is no plan B. (This week anyway)

OP posts:
PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 17/06/2009 21:46

fran I am not a morning person either . 10:15am is good. Which part of the park? Well, I am guessing the part with millions of kids eh? What are the ages of the other kids? How old is/are yours? DD is almost 3.

anniemac72 · 18/06/2009 09:19

Wow, this is great - lots of people coming along tomorrow! And hurrah, the forecast is for sun! It was my first time at the group last week and everyone was very friendly. Looking foward to meeting more mummies

19fran76 · 18/06/2009 09:29

I'm hoping it's evident on arrival as I have no further instructions My DD is a cheeky 9 months of turbo-crawling mischief There is usually a fair selection of babies plus a gaggle of assorted toddlers.

OP posts:
PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 18/06/2009 16:36

Ok, just to confirm. Somewhere in Freedom Fields, follow the sound of the screaming kids at 10:30am!

I will be the one with the little blond haired terror!

19fran76 · 18/06/2009 18:42

& the cats tail?

I will sling my winsome yet robust lil' DD into her retro backpack as usual & she will screech, sing & babble her baby song to all

OP posts:
PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 18/06/2009 20:08

I will probably forget the tail. I forget most things, would not be surprised if I forget DD

oooggs · 18/06/2009 20:56

Have a fab time tomorrow - I will report back about Crealy sometime over the weekend

Devendra · 19/06/2009 08:55

Hi.. so its at Freedom Park at 10.15?

anniemac72 · 19/06/2009 09:51

Hi Ladies, DD and I are a poorly duo this morning. So we won't make it to Freedom Fields, unfortunately. Hope to meet you all on the next outing, and to see you again Fran, (tho we're away the next 3 weeks so not at Helping Hands either!) Will keep my eye on this thread for any more possible get-togethers.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 19/06/2009 14:38

Great to meet you Fran and Devendra , and your little ones too. I am pleased the other ladies were not too freaked by the invasion. We might even see some of them here eh, as long as they don't get the name wrong and go to the other place .

Sorry you are both poorly Annie - look forward to meeting you soon. How are you both feeling now?
