It's just me & my DD right now but I'm hopeful that other Plymouth mums will find us. I'm 32 yrs old, my girl is six months & we're ready to be sociable. Who else is? Looking forward to finding out

Hi Pav, hope you all had fun in the park. Was sorry to have missed meeting you all, but we're both rather coldy and wouldn't have been good company. Colds seem all wrong just as summer decides to arrive! I'm managing a small glass of wine now , so I think I'll be ok

19fran76 · 19/06/2009 21:41

Yes, it was good to meet you too Devendra & Pav

Agreed Pav, the other mamas were quite unflappable, it seemed. (I find it best to surround myself with people of remarkable tolerance )

Glad you're up to supping a little wine Annie. Wishing you & your wee DD a quick recovery

Just a quick post to say that the Helping Hands group is on at it's more usual location this Friday if any of you care to venture out & meet us

Perhaps we can branch out into more ambitious plans as we get to know one another better? I'm thinking lunch/coffee/glass of wine of an evening etc. But that's me, I like the convivial nature of a spot of food & drink. You may have interests beyond the dinner table

Hope you've all had a good weekend

Hello all
Thanks for the welcome,
Could someone please tell me what helping hands is, where it is and what time it happens. I go to a catapillar group on fridays but hopefully the times dont clash as it would be good to meet you all.
Thanks Amanda

It's a toddler group that meets at 28 Woodland Terrace, Greenbank, 9:30 am - 11:30ish.

Hey to all.

Sorry I did not make the Helping Hands today. I have man flu the common cold and I am miserable. I am going to see Bruce Springsteen playing at Hyde Park on Sunday and I have to get myself better for it. I took DD swimming with DH this afternoon, and after half hour he said, 'time you got out love you look rough!' Charming .

Fran - coffee/wine/civilised chitchat of Ladies Wot Lunch sounds grand . Mine will have to be a virgin mojito for now, but as soon as the sprog is out, bring on the Chablis

19fran76 · 28/06/2009 10:26

Oooh Pav, you're seeing THE BOSS today, how fantastic . Of course you must conserve all your precious stamina for him. He may play one of his famed 3 hr sets. (P.S. Will Red be there? National Enquirer is always trying to speculate on the state of their marriage )

OP posts:
19fran76 · 29/06/2009 22:17

Pav, you must be exhausted. Take the rest of the week off

OP posts:
PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 04/07/2009 15:16

Saw him at Hyde Park and yes he did a 3 hour set. Frakking amazing I have to say, I am so in love with him! And I was a near the front!

She was not there, replaced by a blonde woman who sang and moved and played guitar very similar to her though I heard people gossiping about them splitting again but, FWIW, he was still wearing his wedding ring

He opened with London Calling by the Clash. He finished with Dancing in the Dark. Oh he was just awesome

19fran76 · 05/07/2009 21:14

Yes, that blonde was with him at Glasto (I saw it on me telly ) I had to double check (/adjust the colour).

(Psst. I will tell you a secret: I think that I love him too. It's crept up on me over the years & I fear it may be about to hit a peak. Maybe it's because I was only a girl when I first heard him but now I'm a woman .)

Hello Plymouth, England, UK, Europe, the World, the Universe, the Cosmos. I have been up country (as they say round these parts) & moved house but I have come back to this sad little thread to post. My stamina knows no bounds. How are you invisible internet Mamas?

OP posts:
19fran76 · 29/07/2009 21:48

So invisible that your replies are invisible too. Cool.

B.T.W. I haven't moved towns, just districts. My DD & I went to the local Rhyme Time & Latch On this week to meet some new folk. Guess what?

Yep. We were the only ones to turn up. Twice.

Unreal.

Take heart feeble Fran , Pav is on her way & brings promises of bad coffee & cheerful chat with Devendra.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/08/2009 03:53

I am here! I lost this and sort of guessed it disappeared, but no fear!

excuse the appalling time i am posting. I am suffering from a bout of insomnia, not helped by this baby kicking me ! lukewarm coffee is probably not the best idea though...

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/08/2009 03:57

ok everyone, so how about - fun fort, fort stamford, tuesday 2pm? or friday 10am ? Now how is that for direct and to the point?

Fran i can pick you up if you need a lift? How is the new pad? enjoying the garden?

19fran76 · 01/08/2009 11:20

A lift would be good, thanks.

I'm putting in a vote for Friday. We will go to the rhyme time that no one else went to again this Tuesday just for the hell of it. Rock n' roll.

Damn the pregnancy insomnia. How've you been lately?

New pad most relaxing, thanks. Garden is in use only by the cat under duress due to the drizzle. This will change§

(Mystical sign added by daughter hitting keyboard.)

OP posts:
PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/08/2009 21:19

That is very impressive of your DD to use a keyboard with such an obscure sign!

Friday is good for me. Anyone else? Or is it just us two, the more the merrier!!! For those who don't know, the fun fort is a little baby version of Jump, and significantly cheaper! (£2.50 per child, nothing for adults). There are a couple of slides, a ball pool, some climbing things. I am hoping, earlier in the day will be better seeing as its half term. I might call them and ask them how busy it will be, but if its not too busy, it will be cool for the toddlers to run, and the adults to drink coffee!

Insomnia fran is a pain, especially when my little wonderful girl wakes up at 5:50am, just as I drift off [grrrr]

Devendra · 02/08/2009 16:36

I am working Friday and DS off to Nanny and Grandads for the night tomorrow so wont be back in time Tues... Free Weds and Thurs this week and Weds and Thurs next week .. xx

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 02/08/2009 18:33

Oh devendra you get some time off!! Doing anything good? Out partying, clubbing til the wee hours and in bed til midday, or long soak in the bath and an early night then in bed til midday?

Devendra · 02/08/2009 20:46

Its sooo lovely.. they have him one night a month, he loves going there and we usually spend the night being quite very naughty and staying up very late with a lovely lazy lie in the next day.. Its bliss and recharges the batteries!

19fran76 · 03/08/2009 11:45

Hi Devendra, that sounds delicious . Looking forward to brokering a similar arrangement with Phillys' grandparents when she is a bit older.

OP posts:
PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 03/08/2009 17:09

I alas will have to wait until DD is old enough to travel to America, and methinks it will be a little longer than over night! But still, 2 weeks off is not to be sniffed at, even if I have to wait a few years

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 06/08/2009 15:51

fran and anyone else - are we still meeting tomorrow for a coffee/play?

If so, need to let me know where to pick you up from *fran, and what time? I am thinking about 10am ish, as DH has a job interview at 12 ish and he will get the bus, but I want to be back for him when he finishes.

Let me know and if anyone else wants to come, let me know and I will post details of when/where!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 06/08/2009 20:29

Helllooooooooooooooo?
