Havent said a date, given the 3 possible venues, mentioned in a fortnights time, if it is to be the Metro Centre Baby Cafe then it will have to be a Tuesday, as it is only open to babys then, or can be any other day for the other 2 places. Will see what is best for everyone and best place that it best for mums to meet.

Where abouts do you live in Newport anyway I live pretty close to the Civic Centre, are you nearby to me then ?

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 20:58

have finished my dinner now!

i live by the harvester on malpas road.

i am at home with my two kiddies so i can be quite flexible and my older one obviously hasn't got playgroup so thats even better!

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 20:59

Do you have transport or rely on Newport Transport ?

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:00

i have my own car, what about you?

how many kids do you have and whats their ages?

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 21:02

No car, but can use dh car at the weekends and during school holidays, he is a teacher.

Ds is coming up to 11 months, live up near the Civic Centre, so often find it nice to walk into town, so I generally take ds to things that go on in town as it is quite convenient.

However, there isn't a lot of things that we can actually go to ? Newport isnt so hot on their groups for babies

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:04

i would love to walk everywhere but like you say there isn't much going on in newport. are you watching big brother! my ds is 2.8 and dd is 14 months!!!!!!!!!!

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 21:05

No, I am not watching bb, doesnt really interest me

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:06

its so funny - but enough about big brother!!!

are you planning on having anymore kids!?

how you finding it being a mummy?

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 21:09

Like being at home with my lo, however, it is strange as I seem to be the only mum in the area with young children that is home.

Can be a little lonely, try and get out to groups but there isn't alot on. Do you find that there is many groups out in Malpas for you to go to ?

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:11

i know there is a class on malpas i think on a thurs that i have been meaning to go to. might try in sept. what groups do you go to? i go to one in rogerstone and risca. have been to lots in my time ha ha!!

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 21:12

What group do you go to in Rogerstone, is it the p & t group or the music group ?

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:12

how old are you poppy if you don't mind me asking?

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:13

its a parent and toddler class. have heard of the music ones but haven't been to one. do you know where they are?

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 21:13

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:13

im 25

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 21:14

A lot of people I know, have gone back to work once they have children, I decided to give in my teaching career with young children and stay at home.

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:15

good on you! i am at home with my two all the time! i take them out everywhere! don't like staying in unless someone is coming for lunch or something!

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 21:16

Is it the P & T group the Bethesda Church I think ?

I went to music group this week in Rogerstone, had the car that day and found the group not open, must have been on holiday. Its normally held in the Tydu Community Hall. Lo loves it, also been along to the St Annes Hall in High Cross, they have a music group too.

Thinking of taking my lo to the Tiny Tots group in Newport Centre as well.

poppy101 · 15/07/2005 21:18

I suppose it is good and lots of other mums would like to be in the same situ to stay at home with their babies, but it is a bit of a pain, when my lo doesn't really see any other children his age to play with.

englishbeauty · 15/07/2005 21:19

that's the one.

i would love to go to a music one.

do you mean the softplay one in the newport centre? i have been there a few times. haven't been recently. i think my two would love it even more now they are a bit older.
