Are there any mums near Exeter who would like to meet up for a natter and a cuppa?

Sorry, kerrymum, i'm not sure.
I reckon one of the others on this thread will be more knowledgable on that than me.

Nettee · 26/02/2009 07:13

I can do the 29th March, with or without kids

diedandgonetodevon · 26/02/2009 11:23

Kerry, if you fly into Exeter:
Leave airport and head for M5 south
When M5 becomes A38/A380 take the A380 signposted for Torquay and follow the signs. Is about 45 mins drive from the airport.

No idea about buses or trains tho.

kerrymumbles I live in Torquay!
It will take you about 30-45 mins on bus to get here from Exeter airport.
I believe there are buses, there is definatley one that goes from Exeter to Torquay so Im sure there will be one from the airport.

It will be raining and full of Brummies

Kerrymumbles There are hundreds, literally hundreds, of hotels and b&b's round that area, that is directly on the seafront, wont be cheap that time of year though. Middle of summer everything is expensive down here.
The weather is quite good, but it is v.v.v. busy, as we always get lots of students in the Summer.
Can I ask what it is your coming down for? A Holiday?
The Riviera Centre ( Or E.R.C as it is known down here!) is over-rated, just to warn you!

PhoenixFirefly · 26/02/2009 20:40

is the 29th ok with everyone? and BTP or the phoenix?

piximon · 26/02/2009 20:50

29th fine with me, I haven't been to either place so I'll leave the decision with wiser ones. Will be nice to see the inside of somewhere new.

I'll definitely have ds3 in tow, he'll be just shy of his 1st birthday. Maybe dd1(4) as well if I can't avoid her fluttery eyelashes. .

diedandgonetodevon · 26/02/2009 20:56

Well I'll throw in my vote for BTP but only as I suggested it in the 1st place (but really I'm happy with either one)

OP posts:
TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 27/02/2009 09:16

29th sounds good for me. I'd vote for the BTP but only because it's got a bit more space if there are going to be lots of us (although it also tends to be busier IME). I like both cafes though so not too fussed.

dragonbutter · 27/02/2009 17:28

i don't mind where, but i'll need directions.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 28/02/2009 20:08

I'll be following db so she'll definitely need directions

pavlovthecat · 28/02/2009 20:20

Oh wow how fast this all moves!

Its a good job you did not all rely on me to sort out the list! Being working hard, being unwell and DD been quite sick, so not been on...

I can do 29th March...when I saw 29th I got very very worried that it was tomorrow!!! So, what kinda time?

I don't mind either BTP or phoenix (is BTP open on sundays?) I like both...BTP does lovely cake does it not? (might sway me....

PhoenixFirefly · 28/02/2009 21:01

i just checked and BTP is open on sunday, 8am to 6pm so thats ok then does anyone have any time restrictions on the 29th? i'll be free all day, so whatever time is picked is ok with me (as long as BTP does something like sandwiches if it is around ds's lunch time lol)

diedandgonetodevon · 28/02/2009 22:29

They do fab (but huge) sandwiches if I remember correctly

OP posts:
PhoenixFirefly · 28/02/2009 22:32

ah thats ok then, he can share with me then lol

pavlovthecat · 01/03/2009 10:35

I think afternoon would be a good time, to allow for those coming from other places? Maybe afternoon tea? Or elevenses if people want to do it earlier?

It will take me about 1hr to get there, accounting for parking etc but thats no problem for time. Any time between 11am and 4pm or so is good for me.

diedandgonetodevon · 01/03/2009 13:22

It'll take me nearly an hour too so afternoon tea appeals the most as it means I can have a lie in too

OP posts:
cheesescone · 01/03/2009 17:32

can i come ? im a bit older and kids bit older too but i like babies and will bring
dd. but wot time late lunch ish?
how exciting and nervy too !

diedandgonetodevon · 01/03/2009 17:38

Hi cheesecone
Of course you are welcome! We haven't quite sorted out a time yet so hang around and see what's decided on.

I'm excited but nervous too. No idea how we are going to recongnise each other yet either...
