Are there any mums near Exeter who would like to meet up for a natter and a cuppa?

i had a giggle to myself on the way home about littlelambs escape excuse!
'my friend has just had a stroke and she's in the high street'
did i hear that right?

littlelamb · 29/03/2009 18:43

I'm afraid you did Not literally a stroke in the high street but she had one last week. She had a serious one when she was only 17 and had to go through serious rehabilitation and she had a bit of a relapse last weekend. She's only my age as well. She soo wanted to come and meet you all, her work is actually on display at the Phoenix atm, but is having some speech issues and didn't feel very confident. I'll drag her along next time
(Honestly wasn't plucking an excuse out of the air because you were all wierdos )
Incidentally, I am still trying to wipe the ketchup from between ds's fingers

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 29/03/2009 18:45

Definitely lovely to meet you all, although I am knackered now .

Have come to the conclusion I talk too much

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 29/03/2009 18:46

LL sorry to hear about your friend I hope she feels better soon.

dragonbutter · 29/03/2009 18:47

sorry about your friend. i don't mean to take the piss, but i did think it was one of the more elaborate excuses.
i'd like to meet her, especially as she's arty.
i'll be exhibiting a mosaic at opus mosaic in exeter in the summer. i'll be demanding you all go and look at that.

the ketchup was impressive.

phoenixfirefly's DS and my DS1 held hands all the way back to the car park!

littlelamb · 29/03/2009 18:48

Thanks doris, she seems much better than she was last weekend but I know she wanted to get out in the sunshine and didn't want to be out on her own so we had a lovely stroll down by the river with the dc.
I am terrible with names, was it you with the baby in the Close sling? I had one with ds and miss him cuddling up in it

littlelamb · 29/03/2009 18:50

dragonbutter, I wonder if you might already know her? Same first name as my dd, blonde and usually very sparky. I have a small bit on display too I always love looking at the window of Opus, we go past very often on our way to Otto Retro, where I spend Far Too Much Money.

dragonbutter · 29/03/2009 18:51

that was diedandgonetodevon with the 6mo in the sling.

dragonbutter · 29/03/2009 18:52

you kept that quiet LL.

not sure how i would know your friend?

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 29/03/2009 18:54

I was child free and stripey!!!

littlelamb · 29/03/2009 18:54

She knows a LOT of people . If you move in arty circles you probably would have come across her. She is a volunteer with surestart too, bf support, general people person. I'll try and pop a picture on my profile of when we went to London last week

littlelamb · 29/03/2009 18:55

Shows what I know Doris

dragonbutter · 29/03/2009 18:58

i don't move in arty circles unfortunately.
i'd love to though but i'm not busy grafting for the NHS to get a chance for that.

(grafting = driving around the countryside with my ipod on)

dragonbutter · 29/03/2009 18:59

duh. 'too busy' not 'not busy'

pavlovthepregnantcat · 29/03/2009 19:02

Lovely to meet you all. I was a bit disappointed there were no hairy trucker types. I so wanted to tell DH there was!

Shame I did not get to chat as much as I would have liked, and I think I missed talking at all to some people, but DD was rather hectic today. Not that she is ever anything different. I sort of hoped chips would have kept her quiet for a few minutes at least but she was much more interested in the consortina doors on the disabled access!

I was exhausted when I got home. Just woke up from a nap!

Hope we can do it again soon.

PhoenixFirefly · 29/03/2009 19:20

wow you lot are quick! i thought i'd be the first back on here again! it was definately less scary than i thought it would be

btw pavlov, terribly sorry about the TMI moment, i'm sure you didnt want to know about my pregnant/not pregnant issues lol. like i said before, the line between appropriate and inappropriate seems to blur for me when i am nervous

piximon · 29/03/2009 19:22

I had a lovely time meeting you all. Doris hope the orange juice didn't do too much damage (and that I've named the right person). Would love to do it all again. We'll have to have buzzers next time to move seats so we get to chat to everyone.

PhoenixFirefly · 29/03/2009 19:24

very good idea piximon. i dont think i spoke to you at all did i?

littlelamb · 29/03/2009 19:25

I believe I was creating a large wedge between you

PhoenixFirefly · 29/03/2009 19:29

lol littlelamb, it was worth it just to be able to witness the ketchup episode

littlelamb · 29/03/2009 19:31

I would like to point out that ds's diet does not normally consist of thieved chips and bacon (and ketchup). I had a lovely little pot of pasta for him that I found in the kitchen when we got home

dragonbutter · 29/03/2009 19:58

we believe you.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 29/03/2009 20:04

how do i look?

littlelamb · 29/03/2009 20:05

If you'd done that a few days ago I'd still have my innocence...
