Are there any mums near Exeter who would like to meet up for a natter and a cuppa?

Icanseethesea · 25/03/2009 20:10

Wish I could come - would love to meet you all! Phoenix, thank you, but I'm not subjecting you to my children!

Pavlov, congratulations!

Hope you all have a lovely time.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 25/03/2009 20:12

Why thank you...littlelamb I don't think you did? I went to a birthday party yesterday thought , not last month {checking early pg brain, as things do seem to be slipping through!}

pavlovthepregnantcat · 25/03/2009 20:14

Icanseethesea - oh you should!!! there will be lots of children there, they won't be out of place with the others terrorising the folks eating their sunday lunch!! DD will get over-excited at seeing all her 'new friends'

PhoenixFirefly · 25/03/2009 20:32

lol ds will too pavlov, they can be little over excited bundles together. the id cards would be good too, but only if the person who had them was the first to arrive

diedandgonetodevon · 25/03/2009 20:35

Littlelamb you do look like a stunner in that photo. Think I shall be bringing a mask if that's the level of competition

Ooh Pavlov, I've only just noticed your change of name (have I been dreadfully slow to notice?). Congratulations!

I'll do a final head count tomorrow morning and get on the phone to warn them book our table.

dragonbutter · 25/03/2009 20:36

yay doris.
not sure if i need a lift actually, likely to have the car, do you want a lift?
have no idea how i'm going to fit it in.
am in bournemouth for a course on saturday after not seeing the kids for a whole week.
so will definitely be with the kids.

DS1 is likely to be stroppy at not being in the toy shop or staring at the giant thunderbirds models through the window.
DS2 is painfully shy and likely to cling.

brilliant

pavlovthepregnantcat · 25/03/2009 20:37

phoenix, oh yes, that would not work if the person who had them was last, we would all be waiting not wanting to ask each other who we are

diedandgonetodevon · 25/03/2009 20:37

Was going to try very hard to be first to arrive to try and look calm and collected instead of a red-faced banshee tumbling through the door with a small, yowling child

OP posts:
bluebump · 25/03/2009 20:45

No that's my role diedandgonetodevon! My lovely smiley DS who should anyone dare to pick him up and take him more than an arms length away from me is subjected to howling!

PhoenixFirefly · 25/03/2009 21:00

lol diedandgonetodevon thats exactly what i was thinking of doing

tattifer · 25/03/2009 21:11

Evening ladies,

PheonixFireFly yes I think I'm brave enough to come along, actually remembered to check whether or not I was working! I'm not, I have no reasonable excuse barring cowardice to not come along so count me in. Might not stay long though, depends how bad the morning sickness is

I'm still a maybe at the mo, if I can get out of my other plans i'll be there!

diedandgonetodevon · 26/03/2009 11:27

Right ladies- We are booked in at the Phoenix at half one on sunday!!!!!!!! [eek smiley!]

I've asked them to book it as Mumsnet so we don't have any probs with finding one another.

Feeling rather nervous now!

OP posts:
pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/03/2009 12:37

oooooh diedandgonetodevon! YEY!! well done you! You will be the one sat there with a big chufty badge on eh??

I am excited

dragonbutter · 26/03/2009 16:11

anymore volunteers to try the nappies.
not sure i'm going to be able to bring them unless i can recruit my 9 others by sunday morning.

diedandgonetodevon · 26/03/2009 16:25

Dragonbutter we usually use reusables but I do stick the odd one on him when we go out. Would be quite happy to give 'em a whirl if 2-3 nappies a week counts as a trial?

OP posts:
dragonbutter · 26/03/2009 19:25

yes, sounds like a trial to me.
i hope i am in no way seen as pushing disposables, if you don't like disposables in general then there's no harm in putting that in your feedback.

what size do you need?

littlelamb · 26/03/2009 19:40

Dragonbutter, I don't know if it would be hugely cheeky of me, but I might know of 2 other people who would do the trail if it would help? I am hoping to bring one of them along on Sunday if that's ok. She's my lovely friend and I have told her about MN but I don't know if she actually uses it She's just been in hospital so I think an afternoon of cake with some lovely ladies might be just what she needs. She has a gorgeous 2 year old, but she is quite small so I'd have to ask what size she would need.

19fran76 · 26/03/2009 19:56

Hello Dragonbutter, I'm not scared to talk to you 'cos I haven't googled your name (yet!) My babe takes a size 4 nappy & we'd happily test drive some for you.

diedandgonetodevon · 26/03/2009 20:02

No, don't see you as pushing them at all! Just wanted to make it known that I don't use them everyday incase you needed 'full time' users although I guess you only need to use them a few times before you start to form an opinion.

Need size 3 (I assume they all go on the same size guidelines? Have only ever bought Pampers before. DS's 16lbs)

19fran76 · 26/03/2009 20:04
