sunnygirl1412 · 21/10/2008 09:59

Would a Glasgow-ish new mumsnetter be allowed to come, pleeeease? I moved to Scotland in the spring and would love to get out and meet people - I live in Renfrewshire.

aGalChangedHerName · 21/10/2008 10:01

Sunnygirl - I'm in Glasgow and will happily go acrsso with you. Lat year we met up at the ticket booths at Queen Street - having given descrpitions of what coats we would be wearing!

I already knew quite a few of the Edinburgh based Mumsnetters from having been to meet-ups - but iirc, there was only one fellow West Coaster that I knew.

(I've porbably really insulted someone by forgetting that they also went )

If you look at my prifile - you'll see that I'm a fellow 40+ year old.

sunnygirl1412 · 21/10/2008 19:07

Thank-you prettybird - that's a lovely offer and I gladly accept.

Just one little problem though - I need to read through the thread and find the date again - it has slipped away from my one remaining braincell. It's not the only thing I keep forgetting at the moment - I go totally blank whenever people ask me my address - and we've been in this house for three months now!!

liath · 21/10/2008 21:00

Would we be eating at the ONI - isn't there a Tapas place there? .

Hi sunnygirl, it's 20th December.

liath · 21/10/2008 21:00

OMNI....obviously.

sunnygirl1412 · 21/10/2008 22:34

Omni, 20th December.

Sunnygirl makes a very big note in her diary!

Looking forward to meeting you all.

gomez · 21/10/2008 22:47

Hello I'll come, drink gin, get drunk...

Ah, notice Nailly has already added me in. All good then As always I'll go wherever, eat and/or drink etc. etc.

Not around too much at the moment so will keep an eye on this and Nailly give me a nudge if needs be.

Yeah - a chance to purchase a new frock perhaps..........

aGalChangedHerName · 21/10/2008 22:49

Hi Gomez

Should be a good night. I will only buy a new frock if i can lose a stone in time!!

prettybird · 21/10/2008 22:54

Thread hi-jack: Gomez - dh will be selling special Christmas cases of South African wine (at a range of price levels). Do you think your dh (or you ) would be interested?

beansmum · 22/10/2008 11:53

I have a babysitter, so I am definitely coming. I'm scared though!

sunnygirl1412 · 22/10/2008 11:56

I'm new to all this too - we could be scared together, if you like!((beansmum))

aGalChangedHerName · 22/10/2008 13:18

Don't be scared!!!

You will have a great time i promise!!

mawbroon · 23/10/2008 17:23

Yes, these nights are always good fun. And that's from someone who doesn't drink any more!!

I think the last one I was at, it took something like 3 minutes before we were talking about coils and wombs, (or was it mooncups?) much to the shock of the people at the next table!!!

prettybird · 23/10/2008 23:41

We talk about all sorts - "womanly" and "parentng" issues as well as current topical issues

I could be a bore about Iceland's current economic crisis - a subject about which I have become a great expert in the last week due to my work. Scrub that - if I haven't got my problem sorted by then, I'll be wanitng to drown my sorrows!

Alternatively, we can swap stories about what baaaaaaad parents we are, whether it is feeding our kids fruit shoots, teaching them to operate the TV from a young age so that we can have a lie-in, what age we let them walk places on thier own and so on. We may not all agree - but it makes for inetersting disuccsions!

nailpolish · 26/10/2008 11:14

omg you are making it sound like we are dull as dishwater

we actually talk about men and the size of their cocks

and make up

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 26/10/2008 12:04

I like to talk about lots of stuff,as long as it's not children lol

Oh yes and men and willys etc are always fun to discuss.

nailpolish · 26/10/2008 12:07

agalch can you help me here

OP posts:
MaDAMNEDAnt · 26/10/2008 12:08

Oh I'll have to bow out We're away from 19th Dec.

aGalChangedHerName · 26/10/2008 12:16

Oh that is a shame Madamant Where are you off to?

prettybird · 26/10/2008 14:46

You're right NP - we do talk about all sorts, whixh is what I was trying 9unsuccessfully) to get acorss. Any and all subjects - with varying degress of cohenrncy, dependent on how much alcohol has been drunk!
