Yes it will be busy everywhere. Will there be anywhere quiet i wonder. MB you can never be too overdressed at Christmas!!

I was rather overdressed last year myself i think

mawbroon · 11/10/2008 21:31

I wonder if there is anywhere with a private room that we could have?

But we kind of need to know how many there are before we could go down that avenue.

agalch - eh? you just said you can never be over dressed at Christmas!!

Lilliput · 11/10/2008 21:36

If you can't get sparkly, spangly and overdressed at xmas then life is really pretty dull. We should make a pact to go for it and be deliberately 'overdressed'. Otherwise what is the point of all those fab dresses in the shops in the lead up to xmas, they shouldn't be only bought by young free and single under 25's you know.

aGalChangedHerName · 11/10/2008 21:41

Hear Hear Lilliput!!!

Lets all get sparkled up this time lol

I know MB. I figure if i can't get dressed up now i never will. I do worry about being mutton dressed as lamb tho.

Where could we go then?

mawbroon · 11/10/2008 21:54

Were any of you guys at Whighams last time?

There are wee alcove bits in there if we could get one, but again, it depends how many of us there are.

aGalChangedHerName · 11/10/2008 22:00

I was at Whighams MB.

It was lovely, food was really good.

Would be busy same as everywhere else i think.

Don't want to have to wander around looking for a seat at my age lol

mawbroon · 11/10/2008 22:30

I really don't know where to suggest.

I very rarely venture out after ds is in bed, especially down the town.

I guess it has to be fairly central though for everyone to get to.

liath · 11/10/2008 22:30

I wonder about somewhere like Browns - it's huge so we'd find somewhere to sit. But am not sure if we'd have to order food as well. I bet most places will be busy (unless of course the financial melt-down means we are all living in tents on the Meadows trying to eke out a living planting parsnips....).

Was that the Living room we were in? It was good, but again we would probably have to do food if we went there.

Where's prettybird? She is usually up for these meets.

We could always go here LOL

aGalChangedHerName · 14/10/2008 08:33

Yes Living Room was nice.

Had a quick look at their Christmas menu. It's £28.50.

prettybird · 14/10/2008 09:26

Had missed this: have been really busy at work (my company has been taken over and altohugh at the moment my job is safe, it is a pretty stressful time).

I'm up for a Christmas Do. I think 20th is OK and am happy with wahtever those who kow Edinburgh advise.
