At least nowadays he won't have to suffer from the smoky atmosphere

However, we'll need to watch those alcholic fumes!

nailpolish · 13/11/2008 17:38

ginge im sure everyone would agree we would rather you came with ds than missed out. and a 6 mth old is hardly any bother anyway in fact, you prob wont see him all night, we will all want turns to coo over him

or will that just be me?

god knows what im going to wear
i got a new skirt in topshop on saturday in the sale for 7 quid. nothing to wear it with tho

Just a thought, it might be an idea to check with Cafe Rouge re the licencing laws.

there are some places that really aren't allowed to have kids in after a certain time, although it might just be pubs, I'm not sure.

Would hate for you to turn up and then be told you couldn't come in.

bongosmum · 14/11/2008 09:16

Morning, I will get the food order together over the weekend. If you haven't decided then get a move on!!
Moneywise, i'll get it on the night.

nailpolish · 14/11/2008 09:24

quite a good point MB
there are 2 parts to cafe rouge though, one bit doesnt have a bar so we coudl sit there
you know, the bit with the long tables - which i think they would put a large party anywya

OP posts:
nailpolish · 14/11/2008 09:25

omg grammar terrible this am
you know what i mean

come to think of it, we have had the dds there loads of times and im sure sometimes after 8 and no one has ever said anytihg

but best to check maybe

gingerwench · 14/11/2008 11:19

Thanks for the warning - I've been in cafe rouge with him during the day but not in the evening so I will check.

I mentioned it to DH last night and his suggestion was that he comes out too but hides in a corner at a table for one with DS and texts me if DS needs a feed!! so in his words "you get to have a night out for once"
ahhhh
i think he's just jealous!

mawbroon · 14/11/2008 11:23

LOL, that's hilarious!!

He would be sitting there wishing he had bugged the table to hear what we were all cackling at!!

I was very anal about bedtime and stuff when ds was tiny. I wish I had just chilled out and taken him out with me, it would have been much better!!

gingerwench · 14/11/2008 11:36

he's scared in case the MN mafia kidnap me and he's left holding the baby so to speak!

well we have a reasonable bedtime routine most days but sometimes i think it is important that he is flexible enough to fit in with our needs too (he's slept in the car seat happily at our local italian a couple of times) or I'd resent being completely tied to the house.

prettybird · 14/11/2008 11:56

I think you need to bemore concerned about a broody nailploish kidnapping your ds!

nailpolish · 14/11/2008 12:17

lol at your dh

he should do waht agal's ds did - texted his mum to see she was ok and asked "mum, waht is my middle name" to make sure it really was his mum replying and not the kidnapper

rofl

it still makes me chuckle now

he doesnt even have a middle name

OP posts:
nailpolish · 14/11/2008 12:19

also - can you imagine the other customers and what they would see - a man in the corner with a small baby - gets approached by a woman from a different part of the restaurant - who picks up bbaby - bf's baby - and returns to her table

lol

OP posts:
nailpolish · 14/11/2008 12:19

but say ing that - anything is worth it for a few hours out onthe town!!!

OP posts:
pleaseletmesleep · 14/11/2008 13:18

Can you imagine the threads in morning -

AIBU to think that bfing a random man's baby in Cafe Rouge is unacceptable?

rookiemater · 14/11/2008 13:28

Sorry can I lower the tone of the thread. I'd like soup, turkey and the chocolate thing for dessert.

Thanks muchly

Oh and pleaseletmesleep YABVU !

liath · 14/11/2008 21:46

Could I have the soup, then turkey, then raspberry sorbet thingy please?

Thanks to Bongosmum for doing the deposits .

aGalChangedHerName · 17/11/2008 12:39

Should we give a shout out to everyone else on the list who hasn't said what they want to eat?

Not sure if a lot haven't said?

heididrink · 17/11/2008 15:09

Sorry I havent answered re food but my internet connection has been down for over a week no idea why - or why it has returned today

Bongosmum my order is as follows

cheese souffle

puff pastry box

I hate sweets - I know I am weird - so I wont have any unless someone wants two and I will order for them.

prettybird · 17/11/2008 16:30

I was swithering about the chocolate tart - so you could order it and it could be shared around!

liath · 17/11/2008 16:41
