aGalChangedHerName - thats really kind of you but I think I will have to be here for bedtime - I have told dp that men are capable of lactation and that if he really put his mind to it he could manage but I don't think he is convinced

bongosmum if you need to let them know food I will have

Prawns
Seabass
Sticky toffee pudding
Also - if you want me to send you money please let me know.

Thankyou all, am looking forward to it!

aGalChangedHerName · 12/11/2008 19:08

LOL Mawbroon yes that is very true

Years of staying in took it's toll so i love getting out now.

Pleaseletmesleep i have had that problem too lol. Dd2 gave up in August just after her 2nd birthday so i am now a free woman again yay!!

Will be lovely to meet you PLMS and everyone else that i haven't met before of course

mawbroon · 12/11/2008 21:09

Is that everyone all weaned now then agalch? Your dd1 is aff it too is she?

I don't think my ds is going to give up ever.

gomez · 12/11/2008 21:19

sorry Nailly wasn't trying to be rude!

Looking forward to it and might wear a frock!

beansmum · 12/11/2008 21:23

I lost this thread, am I still on the list?
I have a babysitter and a dress and everything!

I would like to eat
mushrooms
lamb
sorbet meringue thing

Can I meet up early too?

prettybird · 12/11/2008 21:35

You're on the list beansmum, so we are assuming you are coming!

Gomez - you look great in a dress, so wear one!

I may decide to wear my Nicole Fahri black velvet number - c. 14 years old but I still love it. Could wear it with purple tights to bring it up to date (it's ballerina length but like a coat dress in that it buttons up the front - but the buttons only go from my boobs and to just below my crotch, so it shows a lot of leg - well cut, so not too much ).

Anyway - I'd better get back to work. I may be under notice of redundancy, but my cusomters still expect decent service for their quotes/communication etc

aGalChangedHerName · 12/11/2008 22:40

Yes bfing finished forever

I wasn't looking for her to finish quite so soon tbh but she did it all on her own (dd2)and dd1 followed suit.

It did mean that DH and i spent our first night away (one of 2 occasions since we had the 4 dc) together. It was wonderful and we plan to do it again very soon. We couldn't have done it if the dd's were still bfing.

But i do miss it. Had a horrendous 2-3 weeks, floods of tears etc etc. Feel great now tho How old is ds now? Ds2 bf till he was 3.

mawbroon · 13/11/2008 07:33

Ds was 3 on 21st Oct. He is feeding as much as ever, and I predict an increase when he starts nursery in January.

I can only imagine that it must feel really strange not feeding any more.

aGalChangedHerName · 13/11/2008 08:20

It is strange but actually after being pg 4 times and bfing for around 7 years in total it is fine to not be feeding.

Would you like him to give up MB? If you don't want give up or you are not ready then carry on. If you don't want to carry on feeding ds then it's fine to start a process which ensures he stops. You have done a good thing bfing but your needs must be considered and recognised too iykwim.

nailpolish · 13/11/2008 09:06

can we stop talking about bfing? i still miss it

beansmum were you on the oct 04 antenatal thread? i seem to remember you from that...
really looking forward to meeting every one

mawbroon · 13/11/2008 09:38

Sorry naily. Just one last thing about it...

No, neither of us are ready to give up. I have tried a couple of times to cut down and his behaviour became terrible. It is a real need for him and it makes me laugh when people say that there is no need to bf a 3yo.

So we will keep going for now.

It's stopping me conceiving no2 though, but I think ds's need is greater than mine at the mo.

aGalChangedHerName · 13/11/2008 11:11

Sorry Naily!!

You could always have another you know

Carry on then as you are both happy with things MB x

beansmum · 13/11/2008 11:22

not me nailpolish - beansprout maybe?

gingerwench · 13/11/2008 11:28

Yum Yum my mouth is watering already...

I'd like:

Fricassé de Champignons à l?Ail et à la Brioche

Confit de Canard

Tarte Marquise au Chocolat

There is a chance I won't make it (but will of course still pay the £5 deposit back) since DS is 5 months now and still refuses bottles. It will only take me 20mins to get to cafe rouge by taxi so hope to feed him, scoot down, and be back to do another feed at 11. Of course I'm hoping that my daily attempts to illustrate the purposes of a drinking cup will mean he can be left with DH and EBM and his milk feeds may have reduced in a month or so anyway. Fingers crossed. Or do you more experienced mums think I'm being absurd to even think of coming out? or could I bring him with me? (he's quite good in restaurants!) or is that against the spirit of the meet?

nailpolish · 13/11/2008 12:51

ginge, bring him with you if you like. ive had the dds in cafe rouge and the staff are lovely and its pretty laid back, isnt it

or else you could text someone to say you are on your way, we could hold your food for you, everyone is pretty easy going (or they better be!) so dont fret

OP posts:
nailpolish · 13/11/2008 12:52

plus

i would get a cuddle

OP posts:
nailpolish · 13/11/2008 12:52

from little ds that is, not you

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 13/11/2008 13:34

Lol Nailpolish @ cuddling gingerwench!!

My mindee is asleep atm just so everyone knows. Don't want to be accused of neglecting my mindees. My dd's however are watching Snow White and eating choccy buttons.

prettybird · 13/11/2008 13:41

It's OK agalch - your dirty secret is safe with me. I am after all one of those baaaaaad mummies who genuinly doesn't care (nay, did not want) that her childmiunder to sit and stimulate and/or watch over my ds every second of the day. Positively negligent I am!

aGalChangedHerName · 13/11/2008 13:55

Lol PB. Thank god my parents are not freaky ones who want me to hover helicopter style over their little darlings!!

Those were weird threads wern't they?

prettybird · 13/11/2008 14:27

Yes, very strange

But fivecandles seemed to be pretty much a lone voice. Parents and childminders alike just couldn't see what the "shock horro" was all about. - in both threads!

nailpolish · 13/11/2008 15:11

what thread was that? i missed it thank god

agalch you are at work

get back to your duties you slacker

prettybird · 13/11/2008 15:43

gingerwench · 13/11/2008 17:21

ok well if it wouldn't be offputting, the potential to have DS with me means I certainly can come. He loves cuddles too.

And what's wrong with cuddles from me?!
