My sad little life means i'm always on here, especially when dh is on nights. Dh even got his own laptop cos he never got a chance to go on mine

barnsleybelle · 05/08/2008 21:33

Would have loved to but we go on our hols that day..but thank you. I also really struggle for sitters, so am fairly often a no show on nights out unless dh is home.

Am with you on the soft play thing.... Nightmare.

barnsleybelle · 05/08/2008 21:36

My dh bought me sky + for christmas. Said it was to keep me company while he was away!!

Nice...

Phoenix · 05/08/2008 21:43

Oh well maybe next time

We need nice weather to go to Cannon Hall or something, i know it'll still be packed but it won't seem as bad cos its outdoors.

Do you work? I work afternoons (1.30-7) but have 1 day a week off so i can usually make most meets if they're morning or on a day off.

Phoenix · 05/08/2008 21:45

We'll keep you company. I bet you're addicted already lol. Get on Facebook if you're not already on that's addictive too.

hiccymapops · 05/08/2008 21:54

My god you lot have been busy This new thread must be working

Hiya barnsleybelle I live in Ryhill, so i'm not far from you.

Trace hope your dd and neice are okay xxx

barnsleybelle · 05/08/2008 21:54

I am addicted to mumsnet i must admit, although i am a huge tele fan!! I was at cannon hall the other day... chocca!!

I took mat leave when i had dd ( 11 months now) and was going to go back after 12 months. With dh away and mum not able to have the baby we've decided for me to leave. She can mind ds as he's more or less self caring but i didn't want to split them. It's been a HUGE decision and i cried on the day i took my notice in. We have to pay back some mat pay but, oh well, needs must.

Phoenix · 05/08/2008 21:54

Evening Hiccy

hiccymapops · 05/08/2008 21:56

Hiya Phoenix

hiccymapops · 05/08/2008 21:58

Phoenix i know you're avoiding soft play, but i went to Mapplewell last week and this morning, and it was really nice and quiet both times. Now i've said this it'll probably be chokka if you go, but they said it's been really quiet lately.

Phoenix · 05/08/2008 21:59

I wish i didn't have to work. Dh works shifts so can have ds most of the time but when he is working my mum has Lewis.

Phoenix · 05/08/2008 22:02

Really Hiccy. I might give it a go one day then. Ds has got a thing about Ikea at the mo cos my mum took him the other week and got him an ice cream there so he keeps asking to go again so if that's what the boy wants i must take him I LOVE IKEA!!!!!!!

barnsleybelle · 05/08/2008 22:07

I adore Ikea meatballs, chips and gravy. It is the GOVERNOR!

The mapplewell soft play area is 5 mins for me... ds been to lots of parties from school there.

barnsleybelle · 05/08/2008 22:08

PS. Ds loves cheeky monkeys in Wakey too.

hiccymapops · 05/08/2008 22:10

Ben loves Cheeky Monkeys too, but he keeps picking old food up off the floor and trying to eat it

Phoenix · 05/08/2008 22:11

We meet at Cheeky Monkeys a lot My dh takes ds to Funworld (Mapplewell) sometimes while i'm at work.

barnsleybelle · 05/08/2008 22:18

They do tend to leave a mess at cheeky monkeys don't they! It's always been very busy when i've gone.

Ds is mad into footie just now and loves alphabet zoo so he can practise his goal scoring.

dd not making ANY attempts to move yet (Zak was 15mths before he even crawled, let alone walked!), so she's a bit hard at play areas.

Am finding it hard to find things to do with them both and am wondering if the age gap will always be an issue. Mind you Trace is the same i notice, so hopefully she will be full of wisdom!

Phoenix · 05/08/2008 22:29

I didn't like Alphabet Zoo when we took ds. It's prob perfect for your ds but not much for my ds' age.

barnsleybelle · 05/08/2008 22:38

Think your right, bit more on the older side.

I'm doing the bed thing now, but can i just say big thanks to all for making me feel so wecome.

Good night

Phoenix · 05/08/2008 22:39

Yeah i'm calling it a night too, goodnight

Hi all.
Cheeky Monkeys is right near where I live
Knickers I went to the Wacky Warehouse at the Stanley Ferry the other day and it was nearly empty. Perhaps pub places aren't as bad as actual soft play centres? DH had fine playing with DS and Knickers' DD!

Hello everyone

Is the play area at Stanley Ferry good? It's got a really good write up on netmums, but i've never been.

Hope everyone's okay xx
