Am relocating to Winchester at the end of august and would like to meet other mums in the area. Have 2 girls aged 2 and 4yrs old and a bump due in november. Anyone out there?

Ooh Bloss, where are you going to be working?

DS3 is at nursery every morning from September so it'd either have to be an afternoon before school pick up or an adult coffee morning meet up for me. Boys don't go back until the 5th though.....

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/08/2008 08:16

I have a deadline which means I'm going to be working until end of Sept trying to finish in time, could meet up after then though ! maybe half term with ds,or happy to come out on my own !

Shannaratiger · 22/08/2008 09:25

DD goes back to school on the 8th. Will then be free any day except Thurs morning.

Good to see people are trying to meet up....we're moving on fri 29th (hurrah). Hope the meet-up goes well, have to say I haven't given much thought to sept yet. Can't seem to think beyond the move date! Don't think it helps having a placenta brain.
Keep me informed.

sportingwidow good luck with the move. I'm not free now until Thursday the 4th. I think tumble tots (I think it's called) is on thursday morning which I want to start taking ds to. I'll check and let you know exact times.

Bloss, I do have a 14 year old who has babysat for my next door neighbour quite a few times. He is absolutely brilliant with young children (can't remember how old yours are) and he has 2 little brothers. I know he'd be happy to do it if you are stuck.

He is very sensible, sociable and downright lovely I totally understand if you think he is too young though. I could also arrange for you to meet him beforehand if you'd prefer it. Otherwise I could help you out if you wanted. My e-mail is bex at peerings dot net (replacing the at and dot obv)

Squirdle · 26/08/2008 11:06

Just found out you have a 6 and 8 yr old, so I would have no worries at all about him being able to entertain them for a few hours!

Oh good, I'm glad you managed to sort it out.

But yes, any other time...give us a shout. He interacts very well with younger children...he isn't your normal 'Kevin' like teen ...oh forgot you are from Australia...hmm, well he isn't sulky or moody

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/08/2008 17:50

hey Squirdle - perhaps we can meet in Winch at half term - ds loves going to that pasty place, not the Cornwall one but the one next door, then I make him go into the Hambledon !

Squirdle · 26/08/2008 18:13

Ooh yes MAS, great idea! I still haven't found the Hambledon!

sportingwidow · 01/09/2008 20:42

I've moved! Feel slightly lost having just finished work the day before moving and not quite sure what to do with myself! Think me and the girls might explore winchester tomorrow, in between unpacking a few more boxes. If anyone is interested in meeting up I'm free. Did the 28/29th happen???

sportingwidow · 09/09/2008 17:04

Well halfway through the first full week at school, apart from extreme tiredness and grumpiness (dd1 and me!), doesn't seem too bad. How is everyone getting on? Can't remember whether anyone else was starting reception this term.

oops, sorry for no contact for a while had rather a lot of broadband issues and life has been rather emotionally draining!

Sportingwidow, my Dd1 has also just started reception and is getting on amazingly well so far....betterthan me Now I just have to find a friend for dd2 (nearly 2)...did you have a 2yr old dd? Would she like a friend???

Anyone up for a meet up next week?

unconvinced · 10/09/2008 19:38

I am available next week, although I will be childless as the dcs are at school.

Shannaratiger · 11/09/2008 15:47

Hello all

DD started reception this week as well. She's doing 2 weeks of half days, this week finishing at 11:55, next week 12:55(?) and then full time.
DS, nearly 2 is abit lost and definately would like a friend.

Shannaratiger · 11/09/2008 15:49

BTW are any of you on Facebook and seen the mumsnet group. It's really weird seeing everyone in RL but could be quite useful.
