Well I have just turned 43, not so very far behind you.

You are only as old as the man you feel and my dh is 4 years younger than me so that makes me 39!

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/07/2008 19:10

hey that's good - mine is seven years younger than me, so that makes me nearly 43 !!

Hello all. A few more new names I see. Should be in Winchester last weekend in aug so hope to meet up in sept.
Unconvinced I hope your move went ok, at least you've got a bit of time to settle in before school. Think I will also make internet connection a priority when we move.

bloss glad you've managed to get some ideas. Southampton is also a good place to look. BTW the no5 bus goes past my flat.
sportingwidow good luck with the move.

UppsyDaisy · 15/08/2008 16:24

Hello everyone
Bloss - welcometo Winch. Hope the move wasn't too stressful. I have just about managed to stop having nightmares about ours now! You could try Freecycle for furniture if it's just temporary??
Shannaratiger - good to meet you the other week. Yes, as you say, perhaps the playgound isn't the best place. It's not all that easy to have a conversation when your DS is trying to fling himself off the nearest high appratus.

Mamado - did you send a mail? I didn't get one, it could have gone into my spam folder.

I am free on Mondays and Friday's when anyone is settled enough to meet up again??

Hi Guys, we finally we have internet, BT are really rubbish, why does it take 5 days to get a connection????

Yes we have made it to Winchester, and so far so good. The dcs seem to enjoy being close to all local aminities and him indoors isn't complaining too much about anything, which is a good sign.

Bloss we are very central also, not far from M & S, my dcs are back next Monday 25th August, are you around that week?

Yes I'm around providing the new boiler instalation doesn't over run.

unconvinced · 19/08/2008 07:53

Ok, what happens next? anyone want to choose a location?

there are a few parks with play grounds for the children that I know off. one next to the Guildhall and another by the leisure centre

what are your preferences on times and days?

Shannaratiger · 19/08/2008 09:03

If it's raining the soft play area in the leisure centre is a good idea and then if the weather improves we can go to the park outside. After lunch is probably better for me, but could manage the morning.

UppsyDaisy · 19/08/2008 14:40

That's the Bank Holiday isn't it? I won't be able to make that day
Am usually free on Mondays tho so we must make sure to organise another one!

I'm still free this Friday Bloss if you (and anyone else) wants to do that also?

unconvinced · 19/08/2008 14:49

Opps sorry I forgot thats it Bank Holiday on Monday and DH will want to spend the time with the dcs, I am free all of next week so if anyone has a preference we can work on it.

Squirdle · 19/08/2008 15:04

Hi everyone, MAS, you don't have the oldest..DS1 is 14 ...though he is uber independant now so a suggested trip to a park may not go down too well with him!

I don't have any major plans for the next couple of weeks so can meet up most times. I'll be scared though

Bloss, my friend who moved from Oz to here in January is very central too, though her daughters are only 5 and 2. I don't think she MNs but I'll try to direct her here. It would be nice for you to have a fellow Australian nearby.

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/08/2008 15:05

squirdle !

Squirdle · 19/08/2008 15:23

MAS! Having said that he is fab with younger children so would probably get on well with your son. If we do a meet up then I'll try to get him to come along so your son will have someone to talk to.

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/08/2008 18:42

That'd be nice - he is v good with little kids,so he'd be happy but might be nice to be with an older boy !
