New mums in the Wakefield (West Yorkshire) Area

Hi, looking to contact new mums in the area for email chats, friendship and social outings/meet ups?

Just had my first baby 4 weeks ago, and although I absolutely love her to bits, I think I will crawl up the walls if I don't get some other sort of stimulation in the near future. It would be nice to speak to other new mums to discuss the joys and frustrations of motherhood, and anything else you want to talk about. It would also ne nice to have a reason to get out of the house with the little one. My Hv/midwife were not very useful when I asked about mum/baby groups.

Hope to hear from you!

Well somebody and I turned up and after wandering around wakefield we finally found Cheeky monkeys!
What happened to Bubbles?

Nice to meet you anyway Somebody!
Looking at the other meet up thread it looks like Fridays might be a good day for everyone.
Next time we should really exchange tel no.'s.
Sorry you could'nt make it.

BubblesDeVere · 25/01/2005 17:40

I am soooooooooooooooooooooo sorry

Been in bed ill since 6pm yesterday and only just got up to see to kids teas and then going back to bed, dh didn't know that I'd made plans for today otherwise he would have woken me. I definately do want to meet up and agree with the suggestion that we swap phone numners.

Hope to meet soon.

CarrieG · 25/01/2005 19:07

Apologies again somebody & NBG. Didn't know last night that everything was going to go so snafu today or I'd've posted then - it was the builder was the final straw, needing me to get to the bank & back - there was just no way I'd've made it to Wakefield in time. Hope you had a nice afternoon anyway...& hope you feel better soon Bubbles!

MazArnold · 26/01/2005 11:36

Oh God, I really feel awful too - although I seriously wouldn't have been much company - DD at it again last night too so I really feel no better! Just bought her a swing in desperation to try and get her to sleep on a night - but to no avail. When she's screaming (as she did for 1.5 hours) with colic on an evening then nothing will settle her... Oh the joys of motherhood!

Agree that we must swap numbers for the next one so this doesn't happen again.

Again my sincere apologies to the girls who turned up.

Cheeky monkeys was good and dd loved it until a little boy bit her hand!
We'll have to get another meet up organised and I'll have to be nice to dh and get him to take me and pick me up. He wasn't to impressed picking me up in the rush hour traffic on tues!
