I enjoy it agalch. It's been so long since we have anybody other than family round, that I am really looking forward to it. When I put my mind to it, I am not too bad in the kitchen really, so it's nice to potter now and again. And I love setting the table all nicely and folding the napikins etc.

LOL bet you never had me down as a 1950s housewife.

aGalChangedHerName · 26/04/2008 12:41

1950's housewife?? Perish the thought.

I used to potter but the dd's are incapable of amusing themselves atm so when they are bigger i may potter again.

gomez · 26/04/2008 12:41

Aye, I would think booking is fairly essential TBH. You can do it online for up to 6 if I remember correctly. ALso need to decide between the restaurant or Brassiere (slighly less formal - i.e. cheaper). We can agree numbers next week I am sure and take it from there. Right I am off to study.

gomez · 26/04/2008 12:43

But Mawbroon you would need a pencil skirt, pinny and pointy high-heels to manage the 1950's wifey, You are more of a Felicity Kendal Goodlife type character I think - with better culinary skills I am sure.

aGalChangedHerName · 26/04/2008 12:45

Ok will give it a week and get numbers and decide where we all want to go. I am happy with either.

mawbroon · 26/04/2008 12:48

LOL Gomez. It's not the first time that I have been compared to the good life. Not sure if I should be pleased or offended.

Agalch, ds is now out with dh, but he spent a couple of hours amusing himself this morning. He put all his toy cars and trucks etc into a big pan and stirred them round for ages. He was making soup apparently.

aGalChangedHerName · 26/04/2008 12:50

Lol at MB and "The Good Life" Made me laugh!!

Dd1 loves to cook actually, she helps her daddy make bread, doughuts, pizzas etc. I just can't stand the footering about tbh and leave it to dh.

mawbroon · 26/04/2008 12:51

Yes, it is very footery indeed when small ones "help" with the cooking.

mawbroon · 26/04/2008 15:07

Oooooh after many attempts in the past, I have finally successfully managed to use the butter curler properly.

aGalChangedHerName · 26/04/2008 16:19

You have a butter curler???

Goodness you must really like having folk round!!

aGalChangedHerName · 26/04/2008 16:20

What are you eating tonight btw?

mawbroon · 26/04/2008 17:52

We are having a big platter to start with olives, roasted peppers, roasted baby courgettes, roasted garlic, sun dried tomatoes, avocado, artichoke hearts, roasted vine tomatoes, a bit of chorizo, and the other spanish stuff, like parma ham (can't remember the name!) and some nice bread from the bread machine. Oh, and curled butter

Main is chicken thighs in a tomato/red pepper sauce with chorizo. Served with new potatoes, mixed bean salad and green beans.

Pudding is Eton Mess.

Yum. I am starving already and we aren't eating until around 8pm

aGalChangedHerName · 26/04/2008 19:37

Mmmm that sounds nice. Ds1 and his gf are babysitting and we are going out to our favourite restuarant. They are really busy and have said they can squeeze us in at 8.45pm. I will fade away to a shadow at this rate!!

mybabysinthegarden · 26/04/2008 20:12

1 June is fine for me. Hi mawbroon, thanks for the congrats! I'm due end of Oct, which seems like a lifetime away. Anyway, I'm just off to tip my turkey chili down the sink and then I'm round to yours for dinner. Eton mess.... mmmmmmm...

prettybird · 26/04/2008 22:36

Gomez - of course you are allowed!

aGalChangedHerName · 28/04/2008 16:05

mawbroon · 28/04/2008 16:57
