What an atmosphere...

aGalChangedHerName · 10/03/2008 18:46

Hey MB i remember that one!!!

Showing my age too lol

prettybird · 11/03/2008 08:44

Enjoy yourselves wherever you go!

BTW - I dared to weigh myself this morning (after a weekend where I ate three rolo eggs in quick succession ) - and I was "only" 10 stone 12lb. Maybe I will manage to get down to 10St 7lb by the time I go off on holiday.

Lilliput · 11/03/2008 12:38

Prettybird - I am pleased that your parents are excited about the new restaurant, they must be on the mailing list.
I am the queen of diets, one day I will release my fat photos from under lock and key to prove it.Being married to a chef is not always easy. Weightwatchers was brilliant and I lost 2 stone a couple of years ago and in general I have kept it off but occasionally have to go back to counting points again for a couple of weeks. But last week I tried a carb curfew, you don't eat carbs after 5pm, anyway I lost 3lbs in a week!!

Lilliput · 11/03/2008 12:41

BTW my drinking until I puke days are well and truely over, I just tend to swear a bit too much which doesn't always go down too well with some people.

prettybird · 11/03/2008 13:02

Can't remember how they said they knew. I'll ask (they weren't in last night whne I popped by on my way to Pilates)

If they are on the mailing list, I bet they are the only Zs on it!

prettybird · 11/03/2008 13:03

Hey - could we organise a Mumsnet outing to your dh's place?!

nailpolish · 11/03/2008 14:45

aGalChangedHerName · 11/03/2008 17:51

Lilliput where is your DH's restuarant if you don't mind me asking?

It's my 1st wedding anniversary in April and we are thinking of somewhere to go or do.

Lilliput · 11/03/2008 19:48

Ok, there are 2 websites to look at, the first is from the restaurant that we closed in September last year, it gives you an idea of what we did.www.limetree-restaurant.co.uk
The second site is the place my dh is cooking at now. The website is unbelievably awful and the rooms are in the process of being upgraded and the dining room no longer looks like it does on the site. It is run by a really lovely couple who bought the guest house in it's current twee state.
www.dalbeattie.com/moffat/hartfellhouse/index.htm
dh has basically moved his restaurant to the guest house.

prettybird · 11/03/2008 20:17

I'll try and persuade dh to organise a visit. We could stay overnight and enjoy the wine!

aGalChangedHerName · 11/03/2008 20:30

Mmmmm the sample menus sound fabulous,i am drooling.

Will mention to DH,not sure if he has planned any surprises yet or not.

nailpolish · 12/03/2008 09:10

dh is very good at web design

OP posts:
Lilliput · 12/03/2008 11:26

I would love to stay with you Np, thank you.
Our old website was great, a friend did it as a freebie. The guest house website was again inherited by the couple when they owned it but they don't really seem to be making any noises about changing it, I guess it's all down to money really. My dh has to go a bit softly softly with getting some things changed.

aGalChangedHerName · 12/03/2008 12:13

Yes 1st NP lol. We got married on my birthday last year

gomez · 13/03/2008 00:45

Hello - agalch apologies for being such a shit dieting partner! Well I am dieting but not posting or supporting - clearly. DH has been away this week and I am studying hard -just finished for the night! Excuses, excuses see I would talk the talk when half-cut at the weekend but fail to deliver!

Anyhoo I am being virteous this week and will report any resulting weightloss next Monday - however I am out on Friday and meeting friends on Saturday so that loss might be, eh non-existent.

Will be really nice to see you again Lilliput.

Enjoy South Africa PB!

aGalChangedHerName · 13/03/2008 07:31

Lol don't worry about it Gomez. Have tried hard this week but had a couple of slips already as per usual.
I am seeing friends this weekend so not sure if there will be any weight loss here. Haven't had any wine this week however so we'll see.

prettybird · 13/03/2008 08:46

I was 10st 11 this morning and managed to resist the temptation of the sandwich man at work, so I am

5lb from here would make me very as it would mean I was under ten and a half stone (psychological barrier)

nailpolish · 13/03/2008 09:17

lilliput i feel i should make a disclaimer. dh pointed out to me that a guest will have access to our bathroom. so i just want to point out that my 70's gold-plated bathroom (im not joking) is not mine. we inherited it with the plan to do the whole house (you will need sunglasses for the living room carpet) but we ar too broke to do so

OP posts:
SheherazadetheGoat · 13/03/2008 09:25

hi, haven't read whole thread but am tempted to come along, have you decided where you are going?

SheherazadetheGoat · 13/03/2008 09:36

np do you still want some armwarmers or is it too late? i have semi-mastered the fine art of crochet.

Lilliput · 13/03/2008 09:59

Sounds kind of kitch, does your dh like to strut around the gold-plated bathroom in a leopard print thong, stroking his chest wig? No, that was the wrong question to ask if you are kindly having me to stay. I imagine a bathroom like that to have one of those guys from the 118 adverts in it. Am I making any sense?
