Pfffffff.... I reckon I can up that in the name dropping stakes....

...I once saw Annette Crosby (One Foot in the Grave) at a Greyhound Rescue stall at an agricultural show. Hah! Beat that!

oggsfrog · 03/01/2008 10:15

I also appeared in a film with Richard Gere...

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 10:16

I think it was Matthew Modine, who was in Memphis Belle a million years ago. It was also about 15 years ago, so it really isn't that exciting.

Oh, and my brother used to live in the flat under JV's a few years back Said he was very nice and not a nuisance neighbour.

Kylie's the best so far though. Everything else I've got is REALLY boring.

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:18

Sigh...how pedestrian I will seem compared to you starry gals

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:20

Did i tell you I have a friend who knows Lee Mead?

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 10:22

Yeah but mine are all politicians and journalists. Hardly exciting.

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 10:23

Would you guys rather I didn't tell these stories?

oggsfrog · 03/01/2008 10:26

Nah Lyra...tell away. It brings a bit of excitement into my life .

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:26

Nooooooooooooo! Not at all. Makes me more starry by assosiation!

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:27

BTW, was trying to have a sensible conversation with DH about when I might leave London the next day. He said, 'you are not leaving until Lyra, who is in fact a man with a beard, unties you!'

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 10:30

Oh no! Why me? Oggs is the one with the beard

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 10:31

Nah Lyra - we love it. It reminds me what I'm missing down here in the sticks as mine are also mainly politicians and one or two journos (literally only 1 or 2), but I have a feeling mine may be on the other side of the fence

And I officially declare Berrie the winner of our competition

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:32

You are the only one whose name he can pull to mind...

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:34

It's a nice name...do you think we will stick to Mumsnet names when we meet...I might get horribly confused otherwise!

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 10:39

I dunno. Not sure I'll be able to address a real life human being as Zebedeedoodah

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 10:40

I consider you my friends....you may address me as Zeb!

binklenflip · 03/01/2008 10:48

Looks like the world and his cat know JV so why is it me (who doesnt at all) having wonky dreams about him

Regarding Kylie, a few years ago now, when I was 19 I used to go out with a guy who worked at a big nightclub in Blackpool. At the time it was the biggest in Britain and quite fancy and as such it attracted lots of big names of the time.

Pete Waterman (of Stock Aitken and waterman infamy) basically sent all of his acts there.

Well, my boyfriend was the 'laser jockey' (quite a catch doncha know and no, not a euphamism he actually did control the lasers/lights - the place was quite famous for its lightshow!) so I was, by association, his apprentice laser jockey - had my own business card and everything which at 19 I was insanely proud of! Who has the job LASER JOCKEY at 19?? Not my rat of an exboyf that's for sure, he told me he was 25 the lying toad, turned out he was 31 !

Anyway, I digress...so Rick Astley came, Donna Summer came etc and Kylie came. They had to use our control room to get changed in and my boyf sent me in to flick a switch to power up the lasers and Kylie was in there getting changed (on her own, no entourage, she had only just left Neighbours dont forget) and so I said Excuse me and Hello and she said Hi and made some girly joke about struggling to get her zip up and that was that basically.

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:53

Coo!

binklegoestoLondon · 03/01/2008 10:54

I daresay with Oggs being from Cheshire she might know of the place of which I speak..

..or not

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:55

Though i think I am more jealous of you having an exb than meting Kylie...

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 10:55

You win!
Have any of you taken your DC to Disneyland Paris? We're thinking of going in the Easter hols. Any tips?
Are any of you planning your summer holidays yet? Where are you thinking of going?

Berrie · 03/01/2008 10:57

Ooo funny you should say that Lyra, was about to ask everyone's advice...though better wait for your responses first...sorry no, have never been.

binklegoestoLondon · 03/01/2008 10:57

Disneyland Paris is really good because it isnt too big. We went 2006 and dh took dd 2007 for a weekend because I was at college - a long weekend is plenty of time in my opinion. Where are you thinking of staying?

binklegoestoLondon · 03/01/2008 10:59

Are you going by tunnel or flying? If you are going to fly DONT get on the Disney bus at the airport - it is pandemonium! A taxi is only about 20 euros

binklegoestoLondon · 03/01/2008 11:00

Actually I dont think that is right - think it worked out at about 20-25 pounds so must have been 40+ euros.
