I'll get my coat

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 09:20

His birthday's tomorrow. he's just asked me what I've got planned. i said nothing

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 09:21

Jeremy Vine? That's a bit worrying. My current nocturnal meanderings are about David Tennant. Possibly too much Dr Who & Casanova over Christmas

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 09:22

Lyra - go to Sainsburys and buy a cake

binklebells · 03/01/2008 09:22

I have no idea at all where Jeremy Vine came from, that's the strangest thing...

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 09:26

Could've been worse. Think of all the other Radio djs - Terry Wogan, Chris Evans, Chris Moyles....I think you got of lightly!

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 09:27

off

binklebells · 03/01/2008 09:30

I am quite fond of his voice on the radio.. but sucking coconut and chocolate off my fingers somehow didnt feel quite right...

Not quite 'Lee by firelight' is it

Berrie · 03/01/2008 09:35

Binkle, it's the bounty bar that worries me!

binklebells · 03/01/2008 09:38

Think the dream is probably less about JV and more about chocolate seeing as I've gone cold turkey since yesterday

Berrie · 03/01/2008 09:38

We have put away a box of stuff. It has wine, beer, whisky, chocolates and biscuits in it. Dh wanted to take the confectionary to work but that was a step too far for me! The turkish delight missed the box, hence my binge.
Trouble is ,I can't get to sleep when I am being so saintly of an evening. My liver will thank me.

Berrie · 03/01/2008 09:40

Must admit to sneaking 4 chocolate biscuits from the tin yesterday and then trying to hide it in the same way again so DH wouldn't notice

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 09:46

I'm feeling a little bit skint so I might just make his favourite meal (sag bol - easy) and get a nice bottle of wine in.
Is Jeremy Vine on the radio? I thought he was only on the telly (we're talking about the same man here, the one who presents/presented Newsnight?)

binklebells · 03/01/2008 09:49

Yes that is the one. He does a current affairs discussion programme at midday on radio 2 which I sometimes listen to in the car (to zone out dd's yattering on and on and on!) He has got a lovely, silky radio voice but doesnt do it for me in person so no idea why he popped up last night!

binklebells · 03/01/2008 09:50

Spagbol and wine sounds like a lovely chilled birthday

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 09:52

Jeremy Vine announced DS2's birth. DP was taking part in a Lords (?) versus journalists tug of war at the Houses of Parliament the day after DS2 was born iirc. He left me and DS2 in hospital (St Thomas's, across the river from the HOP) to join his team, who lost. He told Jeremy that he'd just had a new son and Mr Vine announced it on the PA system and everyone cheered, apparently.

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 09:53

Oops, I said sag bol
You know what I mean.

binklebells · 03/01/2008 09:55

Aw how lovely

Now swear that you will never EVER tell your 'associate-of-JV' dh about my dream!!

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 09:56

Lyra, I think you dropped something......

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 09:56

I might, I might not...

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 09:56

Oh that's right, it was a name

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 10:02

I don't think it counts as name dropping when the name has already been raised by someone else. Twas just a little story I thought I might share.

binklenflip · 03/01/2008 10:06

I like it when you share

All the names I could drop are from yonks ago in my (very very slight) showbiz days They werent that impressive then so certainly wont cut any ice now!

Although I have met Kylie (we're talking in the very late 80's/early 90's here) - does that count?

Zebedeedoodah · 03/01/2008 10:09

It's all right Lyra - I'm only kidding.

I got 'checked out' by some Hollywood actor once, whose name I can't even remember. Does that count?

LyraSilvertongue · 03/01/2008 10:12

Binkle, how did you meet Kylie? Do share.
Zeb, what was he in?
