Will the fox snath them in the daylight?
He only ever got them when they were not locked away as a child.

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 13:21

He did mine. Right in front of my eyes. Twice.

oggsfrog · 09/01/2008 14:25

Yep. Mine too. I chased after him once and he dropped the cockerel. Poor bird lay there rigid for minutes and only when I tried to pick him up did he sort of give a shake and wander back to the others.

Berrie · 09/01/2008 14:49

Oh dear

Well they'll have to be in a coop unless we enclose the whole garden which would be costly...

oggsfrog · 09/01/2008 14:57

Aargh. Aargh. Just rubbed my eye after chopping chillies. Ooowwwwww. Hurts. Hurts.

oggsfrog · 09/01/2008 15:00

Berrie, you could have a moveable run, moving it every so often. They really get through a hell of a lot of grass and greenstuff (it's what gives the yolk the orangey colour).

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 15:35

Ouch Oggs. Have you recovered yet?

oggsfrog · 09/01/2008 15:44

Yes thanks Zeb . I won't be doing that again in a hurry. I once put a contact lens straight into my eye from the bleach without rinsing it... aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh - that was even worse as I had to try to pry the lens out of a screwed shut, inflamed eye.

How are you today? Have you worn your foot decorations yet ?

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 16:19

Aieeeeee!!! That sounds awful

And my foot decorations are happily sitting at home, well away from the dogs. I spent last night just gazing at them..... ooh, forgot, click here, select High, and it's the one on the right.

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 16:20

After you've entered the English site and viewed collections

LyraSilvertongue · 09/01/2008 16:31

Blinkin heck there's no way I'd be able to walk in those. They are gorgeous though.

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 16:33

We'll see! They're actually not quite as high as that. Why do you think I'm gonna get a taxi to our meet up?

How are you feeling today Lyra? Any better? And is your OH any better, or is he still just being miserable?

LyraSilvertongue · 09/01/2008 17:02

I'm just about to go and see the doc so feeling a bit nervous. My mind will go blank I'm sure.
DP better today. i was worried he'd have pneumonia again. he's in a better mood too since I cancelled the expensive holiday.

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 17:03

Good luck. I'll try and log on later. I hope it goes well.

oggsfrog · 09/01/2008 17:41

Let us know how you get on Lyra.

Berrie · 09/01/2008 17:57

I just thought, does this mean I won't be able to drink?

LyraSilvertongue · 09/01/2008 18:55

OMG, the list of side effects is huge!!!!

Berrie · 09/01/2008 19:33

It means that your drinks will go straight to your head for a few days. Don't know about the others but I drink...
Lyra you are going to feel pretty grotty for a day or two but stick with it, it's worth it.

LyraSilvertongue · 09/01/2008 20:49

I'm sitting here tensely waiting for all the side effects to kick in at once.

Berrie · 09/01/2008 21:02

Probably the worst thing is the disturbed sleep...it feels like you are being poisoned but the joy to regain your life...it's so worthwhile.

LyraSilvertongue · 09/01/2008 21:33

DP says he still thinks the stiff upper lip approach is the best one
I knew he wouldn't understand.

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 21:40

Well done Lyra, that's brilliant. I'm so pleased for you. Is your OH being supportive about it all?

I was put on the same stuff in September and had the same reaction when I read the list of side effects. The doc explained that legally, even if only a very few people experience them, they have to be listed! If you want, I can explain what he said about the attempted suicide one, but it's a bit long-winded, so email me if you want me to - don't worry, it's nothing scary, just quite straightforward stuff about people who are basically catatonic with depression, which I really don't think you are.

The only real side effect I had was the sleeplessness a bit, so the best advice I can give is to take it early evening, rather than first thing in the morning, as it also causes drowsiness. I was also waiting for a 'bad day' to kick in early on, but it never did. You still get the odd one, but very infrequently.

And yes, of course I'm still drinking!

So well done you, and I promise you're going to start to feel so much better very soon. (sorry for the length of this - night night!)

binklegoestoLondon · 09/01/2008 21:42

I think I may have got my messenger thing working - when you;ve got a min can you check if you have got a message from me or indeed is that how it works, will my message wait for you to pick it up so to speak?
