Oh dear...poor dh..that's a blimmin' long day..
Oggs has gone for a bath now.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 21:45

Is it a tin bath in front of the fire?

Berrie · 08/01/2008 21:49

Maybe! Sounds romantic!

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 21:51

Well, that was short. Stoopid laptop.
Do you ever think some fat sweaty man in Texas (or somewhere else completely random) might be reading our postings every day?

Berrie · 09/01/2008 08:15

As opposed to fat, bearded Lyra with her ropes!

oggsfrog · 09/01/2008 08:44

Ten years ago it was a tin bath in front of the burner .

Hope your back is feeling better Berrie.
Is DP feeling better today Lyra?

I must say I was very impressed with that messenger thingy. So much quicker than this and so much more private - no fishy critics .

Are you sure you can't get it on your Mac Lyra?

oggsfrog · 09/01/2008 08:47

Lyra, is this any use/relevant?

Berrie · 09/01/2008 08:52

Oggs, if you set your messenger to automatic sign in I will be able to see when you are online, indeed you will pop up on my screen when you sign in. Since our lap top is permenantly on from dawn till dusk, I will always be 'live'.

Berrie · 09/01/2008 08:57

Hey exciting news...we decided to keep chickens last night. We are not actually allowed to, I seem to remeber from when we bought the house but if anyone complains, we'll just eat them
Any tips Oggs and Zeb? Apart from make the run as fox proof as possible? Will they mind not being in the sunshine, I have a shaded area in mind...

LyraSilvertongue · 09/01/2008 08:58

Lucky you Berrie, having a garden big enough to keep chickens in. Ours is quite small. And full of foxes at night.

oggsfrog · 09/01/2008 09:05

Woo. Lyra

LyraSilvertongue · 09/01/2008 09:06

Thanks for that link Oggs, I now have messenger on my mac. I've added you as a contact.

binklegoestoLondon · 09/01/2008 09:25

Am feeling very left out Am I still in the gang??

I want to be invited onto messenger too but have no idea where to start

binklegoestoLondon · 09/01/2008 09:42

3 weeks to go ladies

How are you today Lyra? Is your DP feeling better?
And Berrie, how is your back?

Berrie · 09/01/2008 09:55

Hello Binkle.
Back much better today though still painful.
have you got messenger?

binklegoestoLondon · 09/01/2008 10:03

I dont know

I have got some kind of messenger thingy on my new laptop but not sure how to crank it up - not very technically minded!

Will wait till dh gets home and he can set it up for me tonight.

Are you getting excited yet???

Berrie · 09/01/2008 10:16

Oh yes...but 3 weeks isn't long enough to lose my double chin...actually it is but I can't be arsed

LyraSilvertongue · 09/01/2008 10:32

Only three weeks. I'm scared now...
Right, I'm going for a bath. Binkle, I'll send you a messenger invitation.
(btw, feeling better today but still going to docs)

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 10:35

Morning all. I think messenger might be a step too far for the powers that be.

Lyra, are you feeling a bit better this morning? And how's your OH?

Berrie - chickens are lovely to keep, just make sure you get them barricaded in from the pesky foxes. Are you going for the Eglu? I just love them, but they cost even more than my shoes.

Berrie · 09/01/2008 10:44

I was thinking of something a little more homemade...how many should we have do ou think? As a child, I think we had about 6 or so but I seem to remember there were too many eggs...

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 11:33

I think 6 sounds about right, depends how much you like eggs. How many mouths do you have to feed?

Berrie · 09/01/2008 11:46

4 of us...we don't eat many but we could give them away.

Zebedeedoodah · 09/01/2008 12:24

You'll be able to flog them for a fortune once everyone's finished watching Hugh & Jamie with their battery chickens!

Berrie · 09/01/2008 12:43

Tis true
