... and at having any shoes that you can't wear outside. What's that all about then? ...is that not what shoes are for?
Up here the shoes that you wear in the house are called slippers .

CL is Christian Louboutin, which is up there with Jimmy Choo & Manolo Blahnik, worn by the likes of Victoria Beckham, donchaknow. Errrr, I have never owned a pair of shoes like this in my life.
Seriously, the last pair I bought was a pair of wellies from Cornwall Farmers. Actually, the 2nd to last pair was also boots from Cornwall Farmers. In fact, I don't think I've bought any footwear from anywhere else since I moved down here 6 years ago! Before that, Clarks just about worked for me.

Crikey! Don't know when I'll wear them, but do you think Lee will like them?

Berrie · 08/01/2008 17:24

Dh seems to have ideas about when you should wear them...inside only

Berrie · 08/01/2008 17:28

Was it any of these?

binklegoestoLondon · 08/01/2008 17:43

Err hang on lady!! Dont go thinking about dazzling Lee with your fancy f* me footwear!! I refuse to be outshone by a pair of blinking shoes!

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 17:52

I demand that you wear them on our meet-up Zeb.

binklegoestoLondon · 08/01/2008 18:00

she's not allowed to wear them outside though

Lyra, how are you feeling about the holiday now? How typical of a man to decide he quite fancied doing what you had planned after all! Am a bit on your behalf tbh - something my dh would do - put a downer on it then decide he will be magnanimous enough to honour me by coming and enjoying the holiday after all

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 18:28

They're the same man, I tell you
I'm actually feeling relieved that the cause of the conflict is gone. Now i just have to spend yet more hours trawling the net for another deal but I'm thinking if I can get the costs down enough we might even manage 3 weeks away in August, which would make it worthwhile.
Have you planned anything for the summer yet or will you turn your mind to it once you're back from Florida?

binklegoestoLondon · 08/01/2008 19:03

We are away to New York at easter - just dh and I at his insistence as I tend to let him go there with his friend so I dont have to fly. Also, I am not that into shopping so dont really enjoy the trawl around macys etc however I do enjoy the ambiance of New York, the museums and park etc so it will be good.

As for summer, I suspect we might do just a week somewhere not too far away - my best friend moved to Spain earlier this year so we will probably go over and visit her.

Berrie · 08/01/2008 19:06

What's Zeb going to do? Stick her feet in the air and wave her shoes above the audience's feet at him?

oggsfrog · 08/01/2008 19:13

Pfffff. That CL website is obviously very discerning and can recognise a pleb at 50 paces. It won't even let me sully the site by looking at it...

I told dh all about your glamorous lifestyles and he laughed and mumbled.... mumble.. mumble.. fish out of water..mumble..mumble what will they make of you.. mumble..snigger

Berrie · 08/01/2008 19:15

How rude!

Berrie · 08/01/2008 19:15

I've been doing the same

Berrie · 08/01/2008 19:18

Only Dh's and (male) friend's response was that you were all making it up anyway. It was when I got to Zeb with her country pile and flat in the city and Lyra with her trips to Downing Street that did it. Dh thinks you are all dodgy men with beards...

Tee Hee
Have you got windows live messenger Oggs?

oggsfrog · 08/01/2008 19:23

Ooh. I was thinking about setting up something like that. Have you?

Berrie · 08/01/2008 19:30

Yes. I expect that it might take some time for you to download. I asked DH if we could send it you on a disc instead but he thought it might install itself in a clever way whilst downloading...

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 19:34

Am I invited to this Live Messenger love-in?

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 19:35

If it makes you feel better, I'll post a pic of myself (sans beard) on my profile page, if i can find a decent one. I think it's time for all of us to reveal ourselves.

Berrie · 08/01/2008 19:37

My trouble is I can't now remember which of the e-mail addresses are yours. I had a lot of new mails from new people that week as my job was just kicking off...don't know which is which now.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2008 19:39

Mine contains a four digit number.
I think i signed up to messenger a while back but haven't used it in ages.
