Half 11 MrsS that was nearly morning for me

Berrie · 17/10/2007 08:01

Oggs, waiting with baited breath!
Binkle, a whole stone...sigh that would be nice.
MrsS, no drinking...that would be nice too.
Do you think they do joint AA/weightwatchers meetings?
Well you are both an inspiration to me...tomorrow.

oggsfrog · 17/10/2007 09:00

Bum. Hangover from Hell in residence here. Too much white wine. Came on yesterday so wanted to drown my sorrows.
Must stop drinking during week.
On the weight loss front though I'm not doing too bad... lost 8lbs the wee before last, and a further 1.5lbs last week

oggsfrog · 17/10/2007 09:03

Coo! That would be good wouldn't it....losing weight just by having a wee

binkleandflip · 17/10/2007 09:36

That's fantastic Oggs, tell me your secret??

Zebedeedoodah · 17/10/2007 09:49

Thanks you lot - you're a great bunch. And it's good to know that you're all just as much psycho alcoholics as I am But I'm now feeling smug as I haven't had a drink or fag since Saturday.

But what's the secret on loosing 8lbs in a week Oggs? I want to lose 2 stone, and my plan is the cutting out booze etc. And the doc also tells me that exercise is good, so when I get rid of this stinking cold I'll be upstairs to the office gym at lunchtime. hmmmm.

binkleandflip · 17/10/2007 10:03

See I dont drink at all unless I go out - which is only really once or twice a fortnight so cutting out drink I dont think would affect me.... My gym trainer has basically advocated eating nothing but air and dust and drinking the equivalent of dew off the houseplant but I'm a snacker and can't stop! Even if it's just rice cakes instead of one or two I'll have six I'm outta control and need telling girls!

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:09

Tee hee...I'm still smarting after announcing on here that I was going to lose weight for the holiday then not doing it but shh (whispers) I have bought a trampette I did 20 mins on it the first day...this is the third and as yet I've not done it again bar the odd jump when passing. I found that my pelvic floor will not allow me to jump but I can jog on it. I put the Pixies on and romped along the other day. My excuse is that I'm waiting to see how my back responds as my last back episode took me off my feet for 5 days (after a stone carving workshop) before that it was salsa classes that did for me. It's a nice day at the moment so I'll probably hike up to Preschool to fetch ds at lunch time...if I've tidied up and made dh's birthday cake that is...after I've sat down and read the paper and eaten the boost bar I've just bought!

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:10

BINKLE NO SNACKING! (has it worked?)

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:11

Oggs do you want to make a no drinking in the week pact with me?

binkleandflip · 17/10/2007 10:11

You can get boost bars with ginseng cant you? for energy? so valid snack - I could just have one of those right now....

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:12

Will have to tonight as DH's birthday.

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:12

Do you know Binkle, I think my Boost does have that! Well jolly good!

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:13

Just checked...charged with glucose not ginseng!
What really? It has sugar in?

binkleandflip · 17/10/2007 10:14

Well Berrie, you'll be off your head by lunchtime, mark my words, those things are potent

binkleandflip · 17/10/2007 10:15

Oh I though ginseng. Well what am I thinking of then? Charged with glucose no big shakes - in a fecking chocolate bar - is it?? Fancy marketing ploy

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:18

Better get started!
Trouble is...how to do it without dd seeing and pestering me.

Zebedeedoodah · 17/10/2007 10:20

Glucose huh? Isn't that the healthy version of sugar? So that makes it ok. And what do personal trainers know anyway? They're all just failed army pt instructors who are taking it out on us poor unfortunates. (oops, apologies to any personal trainers out there....)

binkleandflip · 17/10/2007 10:22

my trainer is very zealous indeed...but also rather lovely - shall I link to their website?

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:23

Tee hee...if you must!

binkleandflip · 17/10/2007 10:27

ok.

When they first opened they had photos of them working out with young gorgeous types but he told me they have recently updated the website because, and I quote "we dont have that age clientele - it's all older people, so it wasn't a true image really" ggggrrrrr!! I'm only 36!

www.kineticspersonaltraining.co.uk

They are both lovely but I prefer Craig, the one doing the thing with the boxing gloves etc (which kills the next day by the way)

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:32

Lordy Binkle, that's expensive....now would I rather go for a session with a personal trainer do lots of exercise, get hot and sweaty and hurt afterwards or have a cleaner and send my ironing out?
I suppose the rea question is would I rather be thin and do my own housework for which the anwswer is YES!.....I think

binkleandflip · 17/10/2007 10:40

I know it's a bit dear but if I paid to go to a normal gym, I go in, go on the treadmill for ten minutes (at lollop speed) have a water, have a chat, read a magazine, watch a bit of telly, go to the toilet and then cool down (!) with another stint of lolloping But with him I go in and dont stop for an hour so it feels like money well spent, up until I come home famished and have 6 rice cakes I suppose

Berrie · 17/10/2007 10:45

How long have you been going now?

MrsSeanSlater · 17/10/2007 10:52

DRINKING - can I join your none-in-the-week pact?
BOOST BARS - you can get them with ginseng (in a green packet iirc) and glucose is NOT a healthy sugar so don't go fooling yourselves ladies
EXERCISE - Binkle, does your gym do classes? i've found that's the only way to keep me exercising for longer than 20 minutes. I did go to the gym last week and spent 20 minutes on the treadmill and crosstrainer at a fairly relaxed speed, while watching daytime telly, but the day before I'd been to a Cardio Tone class which was one hell of a workout because you can't just stop and sit down when you get tired. Ihaven't done anything this week but I've been busy.
