I have one child and I have that problem. I constantly confuse my sister's name with dd's.

SJ99 · 22/08/2007 13:42

You must have your handsfull Bubble, like Ros I struggle with 1 LOL!

Really nice to meet you Mellow and mini- Mellow, and thanks for the cream will try it out the next few days. Nice to see you too Ros and your excitable little boy

BTW anyone tried sitters.co.uk? Did you have a positive experince? Want to organise a romantic night out for DH and I.

mellow2 · 22/08/2007 13:49

SJ and Ros,
It was nice having you round. Sorry the weather wasn't more co-operative.

Ros,
Can you text me your house number? I'll put the change through your mailbox. I've forgotten what the number is.

foxcub · 22/08/2007 14:05

Yingers I seem to have double booked tomorrow as I had arranged for one of DS1's school friends to come and play and completely forgot about it.

Who are you expecting?

Its a shame as I believe our DDs are the same age...

sfxmum · 22/08/2007 14:13

sushi - to be fair we bought it toilet seat and potty just before Christmas then in about February she would go on it when she woke up and before the bath and not much happen, then suddenly about 4wks ago she just started wanting to go on the potty or toilet during the day. now we have to teach her to pull her knickers down, it's still one per wee

foxie maybe the forgetfulness is old age I do that all the time she gets called several names sometimes before the right one.

think will pop to Ealing tomorrow to have lunch with dh must meet up with you mellow sometime for the scrub, keep looking for just the right one

mellow2 · 22/08/2007 14:32

Sfx,
I could drop off a sample of the exfoliating cleanser through your mailbox when I'm in Kew next if you don't have time to meet. That's not a problem.

sfxmum · 22/08/2007 16:22

mellow - I would have to buzz you in, there is no external mailbox. but quite happy to meet up or visit although I have the most untidy cluttered flat ever and you might start twitching
this week has been a bit busy but it is seldom like this

had teen niece around which is always great, she has her GCSE results out tomorrow so fingers crossed, I am sure she did well.

mellow2 · 22/08/2007 17:59

I might have gotten myself a new contract that starts next Tue.

I'm going to miss dd and I have no childcare arranged.

foxcub · 22/08/2007 18:13

Well done Mellow - just think of the cash what will you do for childcare do you think?

I sent my flexi working application to work today - 4 day week/30 hours but 1 day will be from home. Plus I can take a day a week off for the first three months as I'll have so much leave accrued. So it'll be 2 days in office/1 at home

...still quivering at the thought of expressing - can't even bring myself to put the expresso machine together to practice and see how much milk I can extract

mellow2 · 22/08/2007 18:22

Thanks, foxie.

I don't know. Last time round, dh worked from home 4 days a week and I did 1 day a week. This time round, he's not willing to do it, understandably, and I wouldn't want him to either. It's really not very professional having a baby babbling away in the background when you're on a teleconference.

I was asking ele about nannies but the cost of an agency nanny is extortionate!

Foxie,
Is your childminder still looking for an additional charge? Did QC said she preferred a pre-school child?

mellow2 · 22/08/2007 18:24

And I don't think I can find a short-term nanny immediately on the nanny job sites.

mellow2 · 22/08/2007 18:25

Btw, your working arrangement sounds great.

I should be able to work a couple of days from home but I don't think I could pop round for a cuppa.

SJ99 · 22/08/2007 19:16

Congrats on getting the contract
Bit of a dilemma with the childcare though, do you have any family nearby who might be able to lend a hand til you find CM?

SJ99 · 22/08/2007 19:19

sfx well done on potty training, you make it sound so easy! I'm not even going to attempt it for a while. DS says 'poo' when it's nappy change time, I guess it's a start

foxcub · 22/08/2007 19:42

Mellow - yes she's looking for a charge for 4 days a week (we'll be the 5th day), but not until November when her current oldest one leaves to go to Nursery.

Yes, she said pre school - as she can only do school runs to one school at a time, so pre school is much easier in terms of organising her day.

She is very wonderful - 18 years experience as a Mum (lovely kids) and many years as a proff CM

sfxmum · 22/08/2007 20:16

SJ I think my carpet can attest to the fact that it has not been easyI am still expecting more accidents.

mellow congrats

foxie that sounds like a very good arrangement.

mellow2 · 23/08/2007 09:50

Thanks SJ and sfx,

Broadband is playing up so I won't be online much today.

Right I'm off to YIngers.

Yingers74 · 23/08/2007 10:07

foxie - no problem, will hopefully meet up another day as yes I think our dds are around the same age.

foxcub · 23/08/2007 11:25

Hope you are all having a nice time at Yingers

Yingers, when does your DD start school (what date)? Lets try and get them together before then!

Yingers74 · 23/08/2007 11:32

she starts 5th sept, which i think is a bit early!

does anyone have mellow's mob number? She has not arrived yet, so am a bit worried.

mellow2 · 23/08/2007 15:01

Yingers,

It was very nice of you to have dd and I round. You have a fab place!

Yingers74 · 23/08/2007 15:30

no probs it was lovely to have you both round, your dd is so cute and very well behaved!

sfxmum · 23/08/2007 16:09

hello everyone it is very quiet around here

despite the bad weather I could not bear to be at home so I took dd to Ealing so we could have lunch with dh, it was nice but a bit of a marathon of public transport but she loves it, esp. the train

we are now home and I am soaked

foxcub · 23/08/2007 16:25

sfx - I've been in all day rushing round like a mad thing doing housework, while the kids create yet more mess

foxcub · 23/08/2007 16:26

Yingers my DD starts a week later 12th.

Will your DD do am or pm for the first term? Mine is pm, so she'll be free mornings.
