I am coming? Umm where? Doh I can't keep up already!!!!

That's the college I used to work at. I used to teach Adult Basic skills. Back then when I feel I had a brain (shock)

Dingle · 22/11/2004 18:39

I'm still fairly new too. I've been posting since August. Cadbury doesn't live that far from me and we have met once.
Really looking forward to it, don't get the chance to do much for me IYKWIM.
Saying that I will have dd with me so I might not get the chance on Friday either!

Cadbury · 22/11/2004 19:09

Zsooz, we are meeting in Faversham on Friday 26th at 11am outside the station.
I wll get in there around quarter to 11, all being well.
I'll know who Dingle and Fio are but how will we know you (if you can come Zsooz)? What do you look like?
Dingle, I have a map with parking places on it. Do you want me to email it to you?
Not sure about Aero yet. Will ask her again tomorrow.

Cadbury · 22/11/2004 19:14

map of the town

Cadbury · 22/11/2004 19:15

YAY! My first successful link!

Dingle · 22/11/2004 19:40

Well done on the link Cadbury! Took me ages to get them to work!
I've checked the link and printed a map off, thanks.

zsooz · 22/11/2004 20:47

well that's just typical, we spend our days(Ds and I) out and about by ourselves and the one day that I have arranged to do something with a friend is Friday 26 th
Ahh not to owrry perhaps I could crash, next time you guys neet. I'll be the one wearing the red carnation or is it reading a copy of The Times...can never remember...

Good idea meeting in Faversham, I used to take my baby to baby massage there. Good parking, nice coffee shops etc..

Dingle · 22/11/2004 21:01

zsooz, is there any car park that you would recommend over the others. Have printed off the map from Cadbury's link. Don't really know Faversham.
Shame you won't be able to make it! I am sure that it will happen again, particularly if Faversham is a suitable place for us all!

Cadbury · 22/11/2004 21:31

Aww that's a shame zsooz. Be sure to keep your eyes on this thread. Maybe we can organise another one for after Christmas.

zsooz · 22/11/2004 22:17

Hi Guys
best place to park in my opinion is by the swimming pool. Don't really remember name of car park or street - not very helpful am I? It's all quite compact and near to the centre.

BTW The pool is meant to be very reknown for being fab if you have young ones - we've yet to check it out
Hope you all have fun

Cadbury · 24/11/2004 19:27

So, the three of us it is! Aero is very doubltful that she will be able to come. I rang the pub today and they have a variety of menus aparantely. Unfortunately, their garden and play area is out of action and waterlogged so we'll have to keep the kids inside. I'll bring a colouring book and pencils to keep them happy if they get bored. If the pub just doesn't look suitable, I'm sure there'll be a McD's or something near by.

Well, I'll see you at the station at 11am then.

Looking forward to it

Cadbury · 25/11/2004 19:08

Bump it up! Just in case anyone else is joining us at the last minute.

Dingle · 25/11/2004 21:50

Just got back from a DSA meeting!! Feeling very tired and I think an early night is called for!
DD has a bit of a cold and is being a bit grumpy! Are you still OK for us to come, I understand if you'd rather not take the risk of spreading it! I would love to come but really understand either way. Please let me know!!

Cadbury · 26/11/2004 09:16

Of course. Come. Everyone has had colds here recently. Sorry I've only just seen this. See you later.

Dingle · 26/11/2004 09:18

Thanks, see you later, have mobile number loaded in mine just in case I need it!!

SantaFio2 · 26/11/2004 09:29

dont worry ds has a snotty nose too!

see you both later

Cadbury · 26/11/2004 09:29

Great. Me too. See you later. xxx

SantaFio2 · 26/11/2004 16:25

I had an absolutely wonderful time, i really enjoyed myself and ds did too by the sounds of things, he told me he liked the gal;s and boys Hope you both got home safe. i had a right mare getting home, the trains was delayed and didnt get in till 15.15 i had to run from the train station to my house (which is usually at least a 30 min walk ) took 20 mins running and did actually get back in time foir dd's bus. The rail people were so unhelpful though and I rang 4 taxi firms from faversham and not one would take us even though i explained the situation. Oh well i did get back in time and my daughters escort (who has a son with down syndrome!) has offered to take penny whenever I need her to, emergency or otherwise so some good for the failing of british rail.

sorry for monaing!!!

You are both very lovely people with gorgeous kids, thanks. We must do it again!!!

SantaFio2 · 26/11/2004 16:26

oops wrote my dd's name in that lot Also dingle, I thought it was lovely but a bit of a coincidence that the boy on that other table had special needs!

Cadbury · 26/11/2004 17:06

We had a lovely day too. DD said she had a fun time and a nice meal and liked playing with your dcs. Ds just meouwed all the way home!
Sorry you had sucha trauma getting home Fio. We've only just got in but that was because we stopped off in our town to do some shopping - you know, essentials like milk, socks, chocolate mouse, pizza!
I agree, we should defo do it again!

Cadbury · 26/11/2004 18:13

OH BUGGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went all the bloody way to Faversham with some recently defrosted brownies in the bottom of my pushchair ....

and then came all the way home without having got them out. and I'd promised you some Dingle! I'm sorry! Never trust me with anything really important cos I'll never remember!

Sod it. Really cross now. Got a tin full of brownies and I'll have to eat them before they go stale.

Dingle, if you happen to be passing my road anytime in the next ferw days, pop in and pick some up would you, otherwise me and dh will have to eat the whole lot ourselves. Not a good idea!

Shit!

Dingle · 27/11/2004 09:54

Had a great time too. Thanks you are both such lovely people, but I still have so much to talk about and didn't really feel I had the chance! I would love to do it again.
DD slept as soon as I got on the A2, when we got home I put her into her buggy and she slept in the hall and continued to dose on the way to school at 3pm.
Lol about the brownies Cadbury, would love some. We are out & about soon, cut through up by you to go to homebase. DH wants to have a look at some Xmas lights being the big kid that he is! We also take ds swimming this afternoon at Oaklands! If is suitable email me or text on my mobile.
Fio, great to meet you. Sorry you had such a nightmare getting back for dd, it's an awful feeling worrying that you won't be there in time for them isn't it. Like you say though, a least some good has come out of it.
About the little boy with SN- yes, it had crossed my mind too, I must admit I don't take dd out for a pub lunch very often and it helped me to feel a bit more a ease IYKWIM. Despite the mess she got into with her baked beans, I was really proud of my little darling. Sitting where we were I noticed a lot of people looking at her and watching as we signed it was "nice" looking , if that makes sense, not the sort of OMG-look at her, look! Made me even more proud of her than usual.
I crashed out at 8pm last night, trying to catch up on my lack of sleep. Just as well I didn't have the wine...shame!
Must go have so much to do today,,lovely to meet up,,,,,,must do it again. Thank you both.

SantaFio2 · 29/11/2004 06:27

yes must do it again!

your dd is lovely dingle, I never even noticed the mess she got in with the baked beans, given the fact that ds had a mixture of ketchup and mayonaise all up the sleeves of his jumpers!

Cadbury, such a shame about the brownies my stomach is rumbling now just thinking about them

zsooz · 15/12/2004 22:13

'ello.

Did you all have a nice time then? Where did you end up going?
