Just thought I would get this up and running before the old one is full.

OP posts:

[Normally] contain detergents, I should say. There are all natural products, of course.

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 10:38

Sushi. you might have just given me an idea for a Japanese nickname.

What's japanese for mellow? I wonder if it can be translated easily as I can't work out what it would be in Chinese.

SushiMummy · 12/08/2007 10:50

Oooh, that's a tough one. Don't think there's an exact word for it in Japanese. Maybe the concept doesn't exsit in Japan (or China).

Following on the subject of future husband, I really fancy this bloke. He's quarter American Indian. Gorgeous!

sfxmum · 12/08/2007 11:00

good morning all

sushi - about the Thomas event, yes we know about it apparently the advice is to get there early otherwise it is a scrum we might take dd once she is better at elbowing other toddlers out of the way.

btw the bloke looks nicein a bad boy sort of way,and those you don't marry they are just for fun.

Ros - we used to go to any Mela we managed, fantastic food always

we will stay in today because dd is still a bit poorly, she spent the night coughing, all snotty and frustrated at not being able to sleep. dh and i took turns so none too tired this morning.

mellow - yes will make a date soon and keep an eye on site.

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 11:11

Ooh, sushi. He's gorgeous.

This is the actor I've lusted after for years.

If I were ten years younger, I would stalk him.

Do you know of him,Takeshi Kaneshiro, sushi? He's half Japanese and Chinese and he's apparently a leading actor in Japanese movies after his success in Hong Kong.

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 11:15

Ros,
Thanks for the info about the mela. I think we're going when dd wakes up from her nap. What time are you going?

rosmerta · 12/08/2007 11:22

We'll probably go by after ds's nap as well, I think its on from noon to 8pm

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 11:23

Make that after the Arsenal game which finishes at 2 pm.

Dh is not going to miss the opening game of the season for anything!

SushiMummy · 12/08/2007 11:24

Yes, he's mega famous in Japan. A bit too pretty to my liking, tbh.

DS is better. He just had a poo and it's nice and solid (sorry if it's TMI).

sfx, thanks for the info. Hope DD gets better soon.

Ros, the mela looks good. Now DH has a funny tummy so don't think we can go.

rosmerta · 12/08/2007 11:24

lol mellow, thanks for letting me know, I'll have to try and somehow distract dh from finding out about it!

Kewcumber · 12/08/2007 13:02

Oh I like a pretty boy myself - am planning that DS will look like him! sushi did your DH eat too many strawberries too?

foxcub · 12/08/2007 13:18

Hi everyone

I would like to go to the Mela but its my bookclub today. Or as DH calls it "drinking club"

Paddle yes I'd love to meet you in Kew on Tuesday if its dry Nice to see you and your cherub yesterday

Monti woke me every 2 hrs again last night - despite having two puree meals yesterday. He had brekkie for the first time this morning so am going to try and feed him 3 meals today to see if that will satisfy his hunger.

He is just a complete starver day and night and when he's not scoffing, he is trying to crawl and getting very frustrated

foxcub · 12/08/2007 13:19

Do people know that Paddle's DD is a RL cherub?

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 13:47

Sushi,

I've been meaning to ask you. How old are Japanese before they eat raw sushi/sashimi?

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 13:48

Japanese children, even.

SushiMummy · 12/08/2007 13:55

lol QC, no, it's down to three cans of beer and a spicy pizza, not strawberries. Your DS will look like Richard Gere, I reckon.

Right, DH is going to set up the wireless network to our PCs, can't wait as we always push each other off the chair to get on the pc.

DS is watching the Wiggles, seems to love it!

Foxie, I was going to say your DC look really cute. DS1 looks like a Hawaiian surfer with his golden hair and the gorgeous tan!

SushiMummy · 12/08/2007 13:57

Dunno, I guess two? I don't remember the first time I had sushi, too young to remember. I hated wasabi so my sushi was always without one till I was 12. Most Japanese kids hate it.

Kewcumber · 12/08/2007 14:01

the japanese equivlant of sprouts. (very hot sprouts?)

Paddles I am around post nap if you want meet or come over.

Paddlechick666 · 12/08/2007 14:07

little paddle just woke up and i've had a lovely quiet lie down too!

kew, would love to meet up. any suggestions were we could go and have a nice coffee whilst the LOs run about?

still feel very drained for some reason.

ps: dd is looking rather botticelli at the mo!

Paddlechick666 · 12/08/2007 14:16

and talking of poo - dd hasn't done one yet today

it's going to be carnage when she does!

foxcub · 12/08/2007 14:20

Thanx Sushi - your Ds is a real little cutie too

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 14:51

That's good news, sushi.

Dd is limited to tamago yaki and unagi maki (?) at the moment and she's always wanting to try the other types of sushi.

We do get wasabi on the side for her.

It won't be long then before dd can have other kinds of sushi.

SushiMummy · 12/08/2007 16:49

I'd be a bit more careful when eating sushi in England, tho. I'd only go to the good ones like suishi hiro in Ealing with DS and would even ask for advice if it's ok for small kids to eat them. Some fish like tuna and yellow tail have high mercury content, so best avoid those. I was sooo desparate for sushi when pg but knew it'd be too risky. I would however not be hesitant in Japan as we know for sure the fish is very fresh and loads of pregnant women eat sushi.

btw, I'm on wireless now. It's great (am typing on my bed)![smug emoticon]

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 21:35

Thanks for the advice, sushi. It would just be Sushi Hiro or Atari-ya.

I did have a real craving for seafood for the first few months and I had a lot of sushi and seafood and then I completely went off fish. Luckily I'm not fond of tuna and yellow tail is expensive here.

mellow2 · 12/08/2007 21:35

First few months when I was pg, that is.
